We had one of the best meals of our lives at Tarragon! Everything down to the bread service was unique and impeccable. Our server, Jordan, was delightful and knowledgeable, and it was evident how passionate he was about the restaurant and the food. We followed his recommendations for our entrees and got the chicken fried pork chop and the lamb neck, and they were both out of this world. He really made our night. We will definitely be back!

Our reservation was honored on time, and the wait service was excellent and attentive, as well as timely and informative. The food selections were excellent in all courses. What is notable is that Tarragon continues to have menu items that are unique to it - like the lamb neck, for example, and the chocolate mousse dessert with a hint of chili powder in a reasonable portion. Wine and beer selections were adequate, and diverse enough to find something we like. Could have more lager or pilsener choices. I would suggest adding one more item either as a side or main dish choice involving mac and cheese. This was a perfect choice for us, staying at The Barn, but being able to eat here the day after Thanksgiving. We are never disappointed.

Overall we enjoyed our first experience at Tarragon (for Thanksgiving dinner buffet). The food was tasty and attractive, and the room with its large windows very pleasant. The downside was the service. Our server did not seem to be on the floor that much and was not systematic about circulating to all of his tables. Because of this he did not address our needs--such as filling water glasses and bringing coffee as soon as we had our desserts--in a smooth and timely way.

The food was great. We came in on a Monday evening before Thanksgiving so we had the place to ourselves. Ayla was extremely attentive and the food was awesome. This is our second time and will be back again soon!

Our server (Gabe) was new but did a fine job. Food prices were high, but with a split plate extra charge, each dinner should satisfy two dinners. Music level was a bit loud. The 14 oz steak we shared was ok but certainly not the best I have had. All and all we love the Inn of Honey Run.

We were a few minutes early for our reservation but asked to wait before being seated. It took about ten minutes before someone else came and asked why we were waiting near the host stand, but we’re seated a few minutes later. While we waited to be seated, the bartender was extremely friendly and helpful with a couple drink orders. It was a great start to the night. The two gentleman that seated us and served our table were interesting characters. We almost felt like they could be paid actors or under a bet as to who could stay in character the longest. It was entertaining but also a bit odd/awkward for a nice formal restaurant. The menu was interesting, but somewhat limited and finding something that we wanted was slightly challenging. The complementary bread was interesting, but not in a good way. It seemed underbaked and kind of like the premade Pillsbury dough tubes at a grocery store. The rest of the meal was good, but not outstanding. The curry dish was light on sauce and too dry. The dining area set up and decor are too open and dull.

For the restaurant to be out of items when the menu is so limited was very disappointing. We only booked a stay at the inn so that we could enjoy our anniversary dinner with some drinks and not have to drive anywhere. Then we found out no alcohol is allowed on a Sunday. We said in our reservation notes that it was our 35th anniversary and it would have been nice to have been warned ahead.

Great place in the woods of Amish Country in Holmes County, OH. Wine list, full bar, salads, steaks, salmon, and vegetarion options. It was great environment for a quiet dinner.

The food was great. Clearly they are struggling with enough staffing so they only allow about 1/2 the dining room to be occupied. The result is a high level of service but some would be diners get shut out. Reservations are the way to address this

Both the restaurant and the inn are just so fun, highly recommend. The site is beautiful. The food is absolutely delicious every time. They change the menu often, based on what’s fresh or in season. We’ve had most things on the menu, and have never been disappointed. Service is consistently excellent as well.

Outstanding service by the dining attendant. Menu is limited, yet filled with various dining options. I had the braised lamb and my husband had the tomahawk pork chop. Both were expertly prepared and the taste was delicious. Salad and main course options were generous. A variety of deserts are available. It was hard to choose ! A full wine list is available and craft beers and traditional cocktails can also be ordered. Ambience was okay. Overhead lighting was a little bright. Would have enjoyed candle light at the table. Overall an excellent dining experience.

If the Michelin people could find this off-the-beaten track gem they would quickly award it a star or two. Everything about Tarragon is top-notch, from the magical forest setting, to the attentive staff, to the simple but luxurious ambience, to the drinks, and of course, the food. Wow! Such a wonderful surprise for our 43rd anniversary. We will return, even to go way out of our way. Spectacular!

I booked the reservation for an anniversary. If people could bring in their own sealed bottles of wine that would be a great adjustment as personally I am very picky with wines and would like to enjoy stuff that I know and enjoy. But other than that this place per usual is great as this was not my 1st time there and I frequent the area often. Heather was an amazing waitress as her hospitality was top tier. Excellent service! Great food and time so thank you especially to Heather and the male who checked me in and that made our drinks.

A significant advantage to staying at the Inn at Honey Run ... besides the quiet of nature ... is being able to eat at the Tarragon restaurant. Breakfast or dinner - the food is always great ... tasty and filling.
