Tarpon Bay at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food & service in a beautiful environment. Especially enjoyed the bonfire outside afterwards. We ordered coffee at the end of our dinner, then took it outside and drank it while enjoying the bonfire right outside. Nice comfortable chairs in a circle around the fire, very cozy & a nice end to a great evening.
Beautiful setting but Disappointing food
Love the outdoors dinning in screened in porch . However, if you are a foodie, don’t go there for the food.. You’ll be dissapointed. We triedn3 different ceviches and underwhelming. The mousels where not plump but rather stringy, the lobster bisque was nicely presented and the the soup was just ok. My husband’s red snapper didn’t have a lot of flavor.
Awesome find! Top notch items with excellent chef flavors. Unreal -flash fried Snapper a real catch. Stone crab claws, king crab legs. Amazing menu and desserts. Fire pit outside to have an after dinner drink.
This place is a gem. Sit at the counter overlooking the chefs cook and creat their magic.
Pricey for the quality of our meal. My husband always gets the whole snapper and fully enjoys it, that is why we return to this establishment - I have a difficult time finding something that I really like. The jazz is always a super plus. It is a matter of convienance when we stay at the hotel. Otherwise too many great places just down the road at Coconut Point
Enjoyed the ambiance and live music and the Brunch was very good, good quality. Only thing is when food is put on a hot plate, medium rare becomes medium well and eggs can be overcooked very quickly. Not a lot of buffet items to choose from.
Our server asked if we have been to the restaurant before. We told him no, and he still did not bother to explain where the buffet items were to be found or what was included. Not very helpful when asked about the entrees offered, didn't care if we enjoyed our meal or not. Sadly, he brought down the reputation of this fine restaurant. What a shame...
We went for Sunday Brunch, which was fantastic. Couldn't ask for more well rounded food offerings featuring a wide variety of seafood. Per our request, they seated us at a perfect table w/ a lovely view. Will return when in the area and have already recommended it to others. Thanks so much!
Great spot for Sunday Brunch - exceptional seafood buffet with sushi, shrimp, oysters, and crab claws as well as salad and charcuterie. This was then followed by an entree of your choice - entrees were ok. Also included were bottomless champagne, mimosas, and bellinis. Service was slightly slow upon arrival, but after the initial wait, it was excellent with continuous and prompt drink refills. Price is a bit high, but worth it for special occasions.
bad dinner, bad service, extremely bad waiter.
Meat overcooked, ahi tuna not eatable... the dessert instead of stating Happy Birthday came with Happy anniversary. Food came 1 hour after being ordered.
the server never came to refill the water at the table and never came to check on us.
definitely one of the most unprofessional experience that I had in a restaurant.
Three of us had a lovely Sunday jazz brunch at the Hyatt's Tarpon Bay restaurant. The food was delicious and included a variety of entrees plus a huge buffet of items such as seafood, salads, roasted veggies, breakfast breads and desserts. The champagne, mimosas & basic drinks were included and the wait staff and chef were very attentive to our needs. The soft jazz was relaxing and just the perfect volume so as not to disrupt our conversation. Tarpon Bay has a cottage feel and is on a small lake so the ambiance is beautiful. I told other friends and they want to go with me soon. I highly recommend this for anyone living in SW Florida. It's not inexpensive so going there is a treat for special occasions.
The food and ambiance is always excellent. The service is not on par with menu prices of $35-40 an entree. Our waitress was not friendly and there were really long gaps in her visits to our table. Took us over 2 hrs to eat and they were not busy on a rainy summer night.
Both my friend and I were very disappointed with the whole red snapper that we ordered for dinner. The fish I believe was overdone, leaving hardly any meat on the bones. It had no seasoning whatsoever on it either. They changed the vegetables that were originally served with this whole red snapper. Jasmine rice and cold slaw were the sides. This entrée is $45 and it was far below the quality that we are used to here at Tarpon Bay. Since it was my friend's birthday they gave us a complimentary dessert. Which was nice, it had a beautiful presentation, but that also had no flavor in the ice cream cakes, tasted like it had been frozen for a long time and defrosted. Again... way below the standard of Hyatt, and compared to the other many meals we have had there.
We went for their Sunday Brunch which consists of a buffet of amazing seafood, sushi, charcuterie, salads, etc. Then, an entree is included with the price AS WELL AS botomless champagne or mimosas. The price ($50/person) might seem steep at first, but once you get there and see the quality of the food and the professional level of service you soon realize that it's totally worth it. Our servers name was Henry and he was totally awesome. Also, they have some of the best made from scratch cookies and cream ice creame that we've ever had. I could go on all day...
We were staying at the Hyatt Residence Club (Hyatt Coconut Plantation) and decided we would try Tarpon Bay one night because it would be a close convenient location. We went for dinner on Wednesday and enjoyed it so much we came back for dinner again Saturday before we left town. I am not usually a fan of hotel restaurants, but Tarpon Bay was a true exception! After our first night night I knew we had to return for the Crispy Whole Snapper. It was even more delicious than I had hoped after seeing other diners enjoy it. I have eaten my way through Florida trying Key Lime Pie. The one served at Tarpon Bay is by far the best!! Thanks again to the wonderful staff and Chef Gaston. It was a pleasure meeting you.
I went there specifically for their delicious Lobster Mac and Cheese and was sooooo disappointed that they changed it. My niece actually pulled out 4 giant slices of tomato from hers. No tomato in mine. I don't get it. Who puts tomato in Lobster Mac and Cheese? Bring back the old recipe please. This one is sub par, not cheesy or flavorful and nothing like the other.
