Tarla Grill Ratings and Reviews
Had a delicious meal here and the service and staff were great.
We had 8:30 PM reservations but were running 45 minutes late due to traffic coming in from San Francisco. We called the restaurant and while they said they normally close at 9:30, they would wait for us to arrive. When we showed up at 9:15, we were the only ones there and were treated to a fantastically fresh and delicious Mediterranean meal of hummus, Greek salad and the best Bronzino I’ve ever had. The ingredients, preparation and presentation were as good as anything you’d find in a Michelin starred restaurant.
Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough and will definitely be returning in the future!
This was truly a wonderful experience! Everyone was very professional and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend sharing an order or two of the potatoes . They are absolutely amazing! Lemon and oregano and all things good! The risotto was cooked to perfection and don't even get me started on the baklava. Best I've ever had. We will definitely be back next time we are in Napa and I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a delicious meal that is also nicely priced.
After a long day of yard work, we headed downtown for a lazy date night. We started with the zucchini cakes, which were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside—a lovely surprise. The server helpfully left the remaining tzatziki on the table for our main meal. We had the short ribs and lamb kebabs. Both dishes were excellent, unique, tasty, portions neither too small nor too large. Service was a little awkward, but perfectly fine. Definitely will be returning. I also get the sense that they are local-friendly, which is nice given their location near the downtown center.
We had a reservation for 5 people and showed up as scheduled then waited for 15 minutes and were told there wasn't an available table despite there were numerous open tables in the restaurant. We were told those were reserved, we then stated that's why we had a reservation. The hostess then said well you can sit outside at a small table for 4 even though our reservation was for 5 people. the table would hardly accommodate 4 and definitely not 5. It was cool outside and there were no heaters available. The wait staff and the hostess got into a heated discussion and we said forget it and that as locals would never come back and will spread the word in Napa that this restaurant is a place to avoid.
Nicely balanced flavors. Sad to see they DONOT have a proper gluten free bread or pita - instead they just skip the bread which is a disservice to gluten conscious diners paying the same amount as regular diners but getting lesser value. Also the mezze cannot really be enjoyed without bread and they have not bothered to make this enjoyable for people who are gluten sensitive. For the prices they are charging, it's disappointing.
Portion sizes are also small. High prices as is to be expected in upscale Napa dining. Lovely ambience.
The saganaki was cold. The grape leaves were small but tasty. The service was excellent but the food was mediocre at best. Compared to the excellent Middle Eastern restaurants in Detroit this fell far short. About the only thing to recommend the restaurant was that the wine list included a Malbec.
Wonderful Mediterranean menu! This was our 3rd visit while in the area. We began with the flavorful Turkish meatballs & a hummus plate & they were both outstanding. I've enjoyed the short rib in the past but went with the mushroom & truffle risotto on this trip - wow! So rich & delicious. The rest of the table had chicken or lamb kababs & everyone enjoyed them. We all shared the brussel sprouts, which were very good. Great meal!!
We found Tarla on our way during our vacation. Service was excellent. Our server Gokhan made great recommendations. We got the chance to meet with Executive Chef Kadriye Baspehlivan who made me so proud with her successful life story. Food was A+. Great selection of cocktail and wine selection. It is worth a try.
Food was very good, as always! Have never been disappointed, no matter what I have ordered. Service was good, attentive. Brought out the birthday candle in my friends dessert as I had requested on here. Sat outside & was perfect weather. Great dinner, will definitely be back!
The food and our server, Ilias, were amazing! He made wonderful suggestions about the food and gave us great service as well.
The restaurant itself was quite loud, so it was hard to carry a conversation. You are also sitting fairly close to people at other tables, as the restaurant is a bit on the smaller side....the fabulous food definitely made up for it, though!
The dolma was fantastic, as was the mushroom risotto. We ate on the small front patio to enjoy the setting sun and people watching in Downtown Napa. The service was great - prompt, courteous, and attentive. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience and we left very full and satisfied! Great location in a fantastic Downtown Napa area
We dropped in here at the last minute. The food was very good and fresh with a great server. It was saturday so it was crowded and noisy, but that's Saturday night many places. The spanakopita and dolmathakia (SP?) were excellent. The prices by Napa standards are very reasonable and the clientele was very diverse, from families to dates, to old farts like us. It is a restaurant that can meet just about anyone's needs.
