Superior service.. wonderful ambiance!
Tables nicely spaced.
Loved the food and ambiance but we made a 9 p.m. reservation and were told when we were seated at 8:52 that the kitchen was closing at 9 p.m. so we were SUPER rushed. Appetizer and entree came out back to back and we didn't feel comfortable ordering dessert or drinks.
The valet is so good to us! He watches our bikes on the back of our car while we eat. If he didn't do that we'd have to drive back to Hinsdale and we wouldn't be able to stop for dinner at such a delightful restaurant.
Dinner just wasn’t as good as last time, but will go again!
As usual we had a very satisfying meal!
Got the usual Cowboy Steak. This time it came with Truffle Fries instead of green beans- a definite step up. Got the Grilled Oysters for our appetizer, and it was awesome as always. Wife got the Halibut with a side order of brussel sprouts- tasty and some excellent doggy bag eats to take home. Always a great meal.
We saw a lot of positive reviews and decided to try Tarantino's. We loved the atmosphere and the crowd. The menu was very good with a lot of choices. Things started out well with drinks and salads. One entree, the halibut special, was excellent. The other, the roasted chicken, had great sauce but was extremely dry. We said something to the wait staff (which we rarely do) but got no apology or offer to comp the dish. We also got no bread with dinner. For dessert, we ordered the coconut snowball, which had really tasty ice cream but the coconut was not fresh. I'd love to give it better ratings because of the atmosphere but the lack of overall food quality makes me suggest their might be better choices.
I’m giving this restaurant an outstanding review because my wife and I are just so damn happy to find the closest thing to NY style Italian food. The food was excellent and the service was great. This was our second time and it won’t be our last. We shared the meatball appetizer and a Greek salad. Both were really good. The meatballs were too hard but the sauce was almost perfect. Seem like every Italian restaurant we go to in NC the sauce is so sweet - what’s up with that - not here it was as close as it gets to NY style. For my main dish I had the salmon Aurora which was excellent and my wife had the chicken Marsala again really, really good. Hey if you’re from up north looking for really good Italian try this place. If your from NC and want a little taste of NY style Italian try this place.
Fab service.. great birthday treat!
Great location close to DePaul University. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Very accommodating wait staff.
Definitely one of the best Italian spots in Chicago
Consistently a great meal!
My son and my husband took me to Tarantino’s for dinner on a Friday evening and it was excellent! The service was attentive but not overly invasive and the room had a nice, boisterous vibe and a welcoming feel. The food was spectacular! I had the crab cake appetizer and the butternut squash ravioli and would definitely have that again. My husband really enjoyed the rack of lamb and my son had the fusilli pasta with sausage. We all could not wait to eat the leftovers the next day, when they were equally delicious. We will definitely go back again.
Awesome service! Great food!
Birthday - everyone was wonderful
I’ve been to Tarantino’s many times and love it. This was the first time I had a bad meal. I ordered the risotto (which was on special) and it was just sticky rice. Poor rice quality and not the right consistency. If you’re going to have risotto on special, it has to be a home run! I’ll be back, but no risotto!
Great neighborhood restaurant in Lincoln Park serving authentic Italian food. We keep returning to Tarantino’s because their food is so good. My son had the “Cowboy Steak” and it was cooked to perfection. My four year old granddaughter had salmon carpaccio (appetizer) for her entree and ate just about the whole plate.
this is a neighborhood gem. We always have a great meal everytime we go !
Daughter got engaged
Service was excellent. Being Italian myself and a pretty good cook I find it difficult to find restaurants have Italian food that live up to the standards I grew up with. The food at Tarantino’s definitely exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend
A restaurant we often go to but sadly on this night two of our steaks were charred – one we had to send back for being over cooked and the service was subpar. We sat there several times with empty water glasses.
I will 100% recommend this place, and have already started to! Ambiance was great, and service was very attentive, but they allowed us to take our time and enjoy ourselves (which is what we like - we were not rushed one bit!). Half price bottles of wine on tuesdays is a bonus! The lighting and music were spot-on, and I'm excited to try it again (especially when the outdoor seating opens up). My boyfriend and I both loved this place :) Thumbs up!
My favorite restaurant in Chicago!!!
We had a small group of 6 for a birthday celebration. The food across the board was very good to outstanding. Bella, the server was great. Very attentive and good with recommendations. A fun evening was had by all.
Fabulous dinner. We have never been disappointed with a meal at Tarantino's - it's always great. We had a group of 7 people, and everyone enjoyed their meal, the service was great, lovely ambiance, and valet parking is a big plus.
Good all around experience. The service was attentive if a little strange. We will go back.
Great neighborhood spot. The dining room is warm and inviting. A must for summer dining outside.
Overall a fantastic experience. Beautiful interior, inspiring menu, friendly servers.
Always a great experience - delicious food, great wine, wonderful staff! One of our favorite spots!
Great. Exceeded expectations.
We love this place, great food, great service, great atmosphere, and very close to great prices!!
It was delicious! And the restaurant went out of their way to accommodate us when there was a mix up with our reservation.
Amazing and creative food.
Always outstanding. Favorite neighborhood place!
Am a regular was so disappointed with service this time.
We had a really wonderful time last night celebrating my parents Anniversary and ours upcoming. Our waitress (Brooke I believe?) was lovely and incredibly fun to interact with. All of the recommendations she provided were taken and as a treat, we did not skip out on the dessert. :)
Meal recs: Beet salad, pork chop (very good), fusilli, and the bread pudding. Wine selections are also great...so just get the bottle!
Tuesday’s are half off bottles of wine. You can also do half orders of pasta dishes- a great way to try multiple items!
Overall was very excited about this place, but ended up a bit disappointed by the experience. The meal started well, we had some Pasta and Salad to share as a table of 6 of us. This came fairly quick after ordering. Then there was about a 45 minute delay from that course until the entrees came. This would have been fine if the food was great, fresh, and hot. That said, the food came out and was not hot for 5/6 of the table. It was almost as though they forgot to put something in and had it sitting on a head lamp. The plate was hot, but food was lukewarm and the skin on my Wife's fish as intended was not crispy, etc. Overall was disappointed and unfortunately will not make it back. I see other folks have had great experiences, so hope this was just a one off.
First time diners. Great ambiance. Seated immediately. Excellent service. Large old-school Italian-American portions. Pastas were great. Caesar salad only fair. Sent back fried calamari because it was very chewy/ rubbery. Replaced with muscles which were terrific. Nice wine list. Would definitely return.
