Ambiance was lacking due to Covid-
Outside, on a side street, but the table didn’t wobbly and there were enough heaters to be comfortable.

We had a great meal. The waiter made great recommendations and loved the tapas concept.

Food was good but when we were clearing our table, we asked to take the remainder of the food home. We assumed that our server heard us but when we asked for the bag when we were leaving, he said it was a misunderstanding & the he could not hear through his mask. It wouldn’t have bothered me that much except he didn’t sound sincere & didn’t take personal responsibility for it. He just said to ask for a freebie next time, which I am certainly not doing & shouldn’t have to ask for during my next visit. I would recommend customer sensitivity training. This is a higher end restaurant & would expect the staff not to make patrons feel like they did something wrong for something the server wasn’t paying attention to.

Excellent menu, well executed

First time here. Gnocchi was outstanding. Brussel sprouts and venison very good. Sticky toffee was just OK. Service was excellent - friendly but not overbearing and willing to give suggestions which I always appreciate. Wine was excellent too. Would come again

This is truly an exceptional restaurant. Everything we select each and every time we go is spectacular. The rib eye is my favorite in the entire country. The peas, which we ordered for the first time, are now something I crave. Really, you can order anything on the menu and you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to go back.

Wonderful to have our favorite restaurant open again. The new eggplant dish was wonderful as well as the old favorites from the wood roasted english peas to the strawberry crostata.

Great restaurant. Chef Andrew Kirschner makes a variety of dishes that are not the usual fare but which are done fabulously. Highlights are the octopus appetizer, the Korean beef dish, the eggplant and especially the red snapper served "whole". Wines are a bit on the expensive side. The food is not inexpensive but it's worth it. A wonderful dining experience from a wonderful chef.

I'm a huge fan of Tar and Roses. I was thrilled to see they were reopening for outside dining and rushed to make a reservation. We were a party of three and everything was great. We went especially for the whole fried snapper. It was as good or better than I remembered it. I will be back very very soon.

Other than waiting in the street until I could be seated it was perfect. I will happy when I can have a drink in the bar while I wait for my table.

I have loved this restaurant since it opened! It is great to see it back again after the looting and destruction it experienced. The food and service is still superlative. The best meal I’ve had since COVID!

Server Brad was energetic and personable. The night started off slow and chilly but once the heater was cranking and the delicious food served, all was forgiven.

Always a great experience coming here. The oxtail dumplings and yellowtail crudo are a must. Finish up dinner with the strawberry ricotta crustada thing. They’ll know what you’re talking bout. Outdoor area is super nice. My favorite place to eat. So glad they reopened!

The food is as spectacular as ever -- every dish just staggeringly delicious. The adaptation of the space for Covid has been seamless from a logistical point of view (it was packed when we went but everyone was still at the appropriate social distance) but in terms of ambience still a work in progress. We were there the night of reopening, so early early days, but for now inside (with the open roof) is vastly preferable, if a little noisier, than the sidewalk. VERY happy to see these folks back, undaunted and clearly with their game very much still on despite the challenges of this moment.

Welcome back T&R!! and what a comeback it is! Not a beat has been missed in providing us again with a stellar dining experience! Magical ambiance on the patio sets the tone for an outstanding evening with knowledgable wait staff and efficient service. Most important every dish hit a high note with flavor profiles that still make my palette dance.

Such a classy place! My favorite spot to take friends for an always fabulous meal. The presentation is so gorgeous and it tastes even better than it looks. And the service is impeccable.

Honestly, everything about this restaurant is perfect! The service, ambiance, and most importantly, the food. We've been there twice, trying different menu options each time and everything was a home run. Can't wait to go back and try more items!
