TAPS Fish House & Brewery Ratings and Reviews
Service was atrocious - complained to server numerous times with limited results. Orders for wine and cocktails extremely slow - something just wasn't working between the bar and the server. If I were the owner I would discharge our server and the bartender. Kitchen was also very slow but the food when it finally arrived was excellent. Have been here in the past with a better experience.
I must say that the food was absolutely tasteful, a bit pricey but worth every bite full. I made reservations so I didn't have to wait. Service was sub part. Overall if you're looking for very good food and don't mind spending an extra few bucks this is the place
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner for our anniversary. As usual service was attentive and spot-on and our fish meals were delicious. The quality and portions are always perfect at Taps, and it is our go-to place for special occasions as well as 'just because' if we feel like splurging. The complimentary sourdough bread with garlic dipping sauce is fantastic and we also appreciated our complimentary creme brulee given us for our anniversary. I highly recommend Taps.
Came here for Sunday Brunch with the family and it was really good. Our server, Dave, was great. He kept our mimosas filled and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was good too. Nice variety. We’ll definitely be back. Reservation is key for Sunday Brunch. They took us right away. Otherwise it would have been over an hour wait.
This experience was very uneven. We were very surprised to get there and find the Gulf/New Orleans influence in the decor and then on the menu. Nothing in the restaurant's name or advertising gives you a hint of that. I thought it was a bar type place. I expected pub food. We were excited to order the 3 soups for an appetizer. We ordered Jambalaya and short ribs main courses. Our waitress came over, after a wait, and introduced herself. Then she disappeared and another waitress came over, after a while, and said the first waitress had left and now she was our waitress. She took our order and then she disappeared for almost 30 mins. A runner finally came with our main courses. But, we hadn't had our soups yet! We told him and he left with the main courses. After another wait, someone asked if we wanted bread. It wasn't done nicely. It should just have been served. When I asked what was in the oil, she said "we don't even know." That is not a good answer when there are potential allergies. It was also a bit nasty the way she said it. No one in the restaurant was particularly friendly or warm. It was not very crowded. It was a Sunday night. Of the soups, the lobster bisque was the best ever. The clam chowder was excellent. But, the gumbo was not good. The roux was just not right. That was a big disappointment. The jambalaya was excellent. The shortribs were also delicious. But, I have to say that the meals were just barely at room temperature. I think they had been under a warming light since they had tried to deliver the main course much earlier. That's just not acceptable. But, after such a long wait and not feeling particularly welcome, we didn't want to start over and wait for new main courses. One of us became unwell an hr or so after dinner. We don't know if it was the oil and unknown spices for the bread, or the gumbo that didn't seem quite right, or just that it was very rich food. That is a very unusual situation for us. So, we are very unsure about returning.
This is for the brunch only. Nice variety of food from eggs Benedict to jambalaya. Everything looked fresh and food was frequently replaced. The desserts are amazing from chocolate fountains to tiramisu. I like that the dessert sizes are small so you can have a taste of several. Champagne is unlimited.
One suggestion: Please have someone wipe down the stainless steel chafing trays. They were sticky and had finger prints on them.
Note: You have two hours for brunch so eat fast!
We've been coming to Taps for years, usually for Saturday afternoon happy hour. This time we decided to finally try out the Sunday Brunch, and all it had to offer, and it did not disappoint!
We've always loved the food and the beers, but this brunch buffet took it over the top.
The selection of sea foods, meats, cheeses, normal breakfast fare, carving station, and included drinks was everything we could want, and more. We would have ate more, but we ran out of room. We'd love to go back when we can.
What a great meal! We went with our son and daughter in law to celebrate a great month at work. My husband ordered the show stopping 18 oz lobster tail. Amazing! I ordered the rock fish with the lobster cream sauce. Oh my! Deelish. Son got the rib eye and our dil got the filet trio. Yum.
The lobster bisque is the best we've ever had. Our waitress was Mackenzie and did a terrific job.
We will definitely come again!!
