Tapped Gastropub Ratings and Reviews
Went to this place for Valentine's Day. Everything was wonderful. We loved the live band that played. The food was delicious. They had a red rose waiting for everyone who made a reservation. It was just great. I will definitely be coming back and I would recommend this place. The only thing *ONLY* thing I would complain about is that I thought when we first walked in that I could smell cigarettes - but it might have just been people out side. This place is very classy! Love love love it! We brought our infant daughter. The staff was very nice about everything. They brought her out a booster seat to sit in. They don't have car seat holders, but that was not an issue for us. Place was a tad bit on the expensive for MY taste but you get what you pay for. It was an amazing Valentine's day dinner that we won't forget.
Bottom line: LOVED IT! and we plan on going back!
Five of us enjoyed a birthday dinner meal with beer. Our food was delicious and the beer choice excellent. Our waiter was just average, referring to us as " you guys" and neglecting to refill our water glasses until after our meal. This was a particular problem for the one diner who was drinking Only water with the meal.
We tried this place for the first time because of the proximity of their location to our neighborhood. (Hilltop) Now having been there, I would not hesitate to travel to Norfolk to get the same experience. Our server was so knowledgeable and pleasant. His suggestions were spot on. The food was great. We both ordered a seafood selection and they were both done perfectly. The fish was so fresh and moist. We never get dessert, however, since everything was so good, we opted to split the bread pudding dessert. Next time I will get my own, and forget about sharing.
All in all a really great find!
Good atmosphere but our server was terrible. He didn't know the menu. I had the mahi mahi topped with crab. My fish had a huge bloodline in it and I couldn't eat much of it. The server never came by for me to show it until after I had finished my meal. He didn't seem to know what it was or care. The rest of my meal was just rice And briccolini which were fine. For the price I paid I was very disappointed.
First timer and was very impressed with dinner. Our server was exceptional! Very personable, helpful, and attentive. The beer choices were numerous with a very good menu that explained them well. Very varied menu. All four of has had different entrees from fish, to steak, to salads. They staff even moved us from the table by the door where the cold was intruding on our experience. Will go again.
Tapped was amazing went there on valentines day they had a rose for my wife, a three peice band playing romantic music and a great ambiance. They have an extensive list of craft beer and many wines. The waiter was excellent helping me pick out a beer from what could be a daunting list. My wife chose a wine that she liked as well. I ordered a burger and my wife ordered mahi mahi and they both came out quickly and were absolutely excellent. Unfortunately they only had one dessert for valentines day and neither i nor my wife like that dessert. Overall the food was excellent the service was great. The price was on the expensive side but, is justified with the quality of the food there beef is all local or organic or something along those lines and they showcase local Virginia beers.
The food was great. Awesome beer list. The server wasn't great. With a better server my review would be better. She forgot to bring some food we ordered. We never asked for it and didn't understand when we asked for time to look the menu over. She just kept standing there and waiting for us to order. I felt rushed to order.
The service was very good. However we were one of only three pairs of dinners.
There was a private party in an adjoining space and apparently smoking was permitted. The smell was intrusive in the dinning area. So much for ambiance.
A common wine choice was not available.
Food service was fast and the food mediocre.
Perhaps the summer beach crowd will find a home!
Tapped is a great, local place. The food is excellent. Great patio for outdoor dining. Try the smoked Gouda and spinach burger...one of the best ever. Franklin was a terrific server who made really good recommendations on food and beverages. Can't wait to return!
We had a large family group and the staff did a great job taking care of us. the tables with the taps were great for the beer drinkers in our group. We had a 2 year old with us and she had a wonderful time, the staff was very frendly to her. The food was very good and there was so much of it that we had plenty left over to take with us for snacks later that night. We will be back the next time we are in Va. beach!!
Great food & service as always; this was our second visit to the restaurant. It went much better than our first visit. First visit around Feb, they sat us by the door which people kept opening & leaving open. This time the only bothersome thing was the flies. Other than all that great visit!! Awesome beer list!!
My husband and 3 kids all loved this place as much as I did! This place was so good. It's not in an extremely scenic location, but we still enjoyed sitting outside on their partially covered porch. The food was soooo good!! The homemade pita chips were yummy, the steak skewers were great! My oldest son ordered a burger and loved it. And my pickiest child ordered a grilled cheese and actually finished it! Everything was sooo good!!! Did I already say that?! Don't care, it was that good! Great selection of beer. Great waitstaff! They were very attentive, knowledgable and kind. My family had a great time!
The highlight of the restaurant is the ability to order a sampler of their extensive tap list. Waiter made the mistake of calling a black kolsch a black ipa, but we didn't mind. We had the fried chicken slider appetizer which was excellent. The sandwiches are enormous and I could not finish my burger and my wife couldn't finish her entree either. The entrees were good, but nothing to write home about. Will definitely visit again for the beer.
Couldn't be happier about choosing Tapped for our anniversary! My husband ordered champagne for the table, and it was waiting for us on ice when we got there. Waitress paid attention to detail, even getting us more pita chips for our hummus when we ran out!! We had the seared ahi and then some scallops, and it was heaven in your mouth!!! Very nice prices for the experience you get; live music (on saturday anyways), wonderful lighting, multiple areas for whatever mood you're in (covered outside kind of beachy bar area, sophisticated bar table area, then booths for a more intimate experience). To top it off, they said desert of a delicious strawberry chocolate creme Brule was on them!!!
This was our first time dining at Tapped! and my fiancé and I had a great time. The hostess was very welcoming and friendly, the server was very knowledgeable about all of the beers on tap and they had a decent wine list. All of the food we ordered was excellent and came out in a very timely manner even with all of the tables being filled. We will definitely be going back and bringing friends and family with us on our next visit!
The beer was the best I've had and the service was great. I liked the food but it was a
little salty for me. I think the salads could be a little bigger. But I really liked being there. I am super picky about eating out so I give Tapped an 8 out of 10. I have been 4 times and will be back. The only real drawback for me was that the second hand smoke was irritating and when I got home I smelled like a chimney.
It's a shame I can't remember our servers name. He was tall dark handsome black hair. Anyways my boyfriend and I were a little late but he checked on our friends while they waited. Once we got there everything was awesome. We shared a tuna avocado salad to start. Then I had the seared tuna. While he had the stuffed serloin. OMG it was dank! I ate your creme Brule by myself and it too was fantastic! Anyways old dude deserves a raise for his excellent service and Big L should work more because his face and L trains are on point!
