We went for my boyfriend's birthday and shared a bunch of tapas, as well as the paella. Everything was really delicious, especially the chorizo and figs, and the potatoes! Highly recommended. :0)
I was in Canmore for a sisters retreat and we really enjoyed our meal. The music was an added touch. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent atmosphere and great casual sharing plates.
I love Tapas but find that their prices are a bit high for the portion size. That being said the dishes are designed for sharing and always absolutely delicious. So, so, so good. I highly recommend a night at Tapas.
Tapas never disappoints, ever changing menu with good size appetizer portions. Great wine list, live Spanish guitar and the charm of an old house . Simply amazing ❤️
Warm, cozy, welcoming place on a cold winter evening. Nice ambiance. Excellent, helpful service. Every morsel of our dinner was delicious and the wine list was very good. We have been here several times before and have never been disappointed. We will be back.
Disappointed overall. The food was good, but they are charging entree prices for tapa portions. Spent $100 for 2 adults and we both left hungry. No dessert either. They also played modern pop music in a Spanish tapa themed restaurant. Wasn't the atmosphere we were looking for. I wouldn't recommend.
Great tapas! I wish the tables were bigger so we can have more food.
Great cocktails and cheese and salmi
Tapas was recommended to us by a friend. We are so happy we went. Every dish was better than the last. Very flavourful. We enjoyed every bite. We are from Toronto, however, when we come back to Canmore, we will definately come to Tapas
If we wanted a table that wasn’t a bar table we’d have had to wait or sit 2 feet from the front door. What made it extra disappointing was that making a reservation got us this table beside the kitchen door in a VERY high traffic location.
Once we had come to terms with the table situation we were able to enjoy the amazing food. Would go back in a heartbeat, provided a better table was available. Haha
Wow! Innovative tapas from lamb shank to muscles to pickled beets w/manchego cheese & apples. Wonderful evening of dining orchestrated by our waiter, Dale.
Very over-priced for the scant quantity of food you receive per dish. I get that it’s tapas style but then it should be priced tapas style and not priced as a main entree. Food was decent but my husband and I couldn’t help feeling like we were ripped off.
Amazing food as usual. If you like sharing plates of unbelievable food this place has it.
The owner greeted, seated and checked in regularly all night. He had great suggestions, was down to earth and quite funny. We went with his recommendations and everything tasted amazing! They were able to accommodate some pretty restrictive food allergies for us as well. We would definitely recommend and will return.
Great food and excellent service from Sena and Cindy!
This restaurant has great food served in nice portions that you can mix and match according to your mood and how hungry you are. Every item we selected was very tastey. The service was very pleasant and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant for those who still enjoy the art of conversation shared over good food and good wine with great company. The atmosphere is subdued and warm, making a great place for a romantic evening or a special occasion.
The food was very good and tasty however the price was much to high for tapas sized portions. The service from all the staff was excellent. The restaurant's ambience had a nice feel.
Last year we really enjoyed Tapas. This time not so much. Food was late coming and when finally arrived we ate and were pretty much asked to leave as they had another seating. Food was not as good as the last time and I would not go back.p
Very romantic place. Perfect for date night. Very kind people working there. Food was excellent. Highly recommend
great food and great staff! We sat upstairs but could still hear the live guitar player. It was a beautiful evening.
Our server Casey was amazing! Very attentive and we allowed her to pick some dishes and they were outstanding! Great experience! Thanks Casey!
Very mixed feelings after eating here for the first time. If it wasn’t so very expensive and I mean VERY when you consider the portion size together with price I could even give 5 stars. Some menu items like the beef flatiron and the apple/beet salad rocked our tastebuds. But the patatas (diced potatoes) were close to burnt, making it hard to enjoy the intense tomato sauce. The shrimp were okay but one of the two in the dish was just an empty shell with a tiny piece of meat left still attached, far from a jumbo prawn.
The small dark room is great for a special date.
The staff are friendly and courteous. Problem is $130 later (1 drink each) we left hungry as well as disappointed by a lack of diligence in the kitchen.
My husband took me to Tapas over the weekend during a birthday getaway to Canmore. Let me just say, we are STILL dreaming of the mushroom gnocchi. I mean, we're still dreaming about it all. The service was fantastic- they were attentive when needed, but gave plenty of space to enjoy an intimate conversation over dinner. Every dish was well presented, had unique flavour and was reasonably priced for the quality of food delivered. Their cocktail menu boasted an amazing grapefruit margarita, and my husband loved their Old Fashioned. We had visited Tapas a few years back, but the experience we had over this past weekend will have us returning again and again. It can be hard to find a restaurant that can balance a fabulous menu, intuitive service and overall great ambiance. Thanks for an awesome birthday experience, Tapas.
Excellent as anyways, never have a bad meal. Packed as always but service was on point
My husband and I went to Tapas for a date night and were pleasantly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, there was live music that was the right fit for the Spanish theme and just the right volume for an intimate atmosphere. Great service too! Highly recommend!
We went to Tapas because the reviews were great. The food was Great, so was the service and the live music. What we didn't expect was that all the items on the menu, including ones for$28 plus were actually just 4 pieces of food. Who seriously pays $28 for 4 meatballs? The men were hungry and grumpy by the time we left. They recommend 2-3 dishes per person to share, so if you are happy to pay $45 or more per person, then this is the place for you.
The food was unbelievably good! Unique combinations of ingredients and flavours! We will definitely go back!
Great place with fantastic food! I can see why it was rated as the most romantic restaurant in the Rockies
Excellent location, excellent service and delicious food. We go back every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we are always surprised with delicious new items in a menu. This place brings unforgettable memories... Highly recommended.
Never disappoints, great appetizers always, tried the special Gnocchi rage style along with tostadas, meatballs and shrimps bbq’d . Spanish guitar live with an amazing wine selection. Located in an old house just off Main Street. A real Canmore Gem.
Great food and service. Would come back again!
Don’t hesitate this is a must when you are in Canmore
Tapas is the best restaurant in Canmore my wife and I love the creative dishes and sharing style of dining. The wine list isn't huge but the selections are excellent. This isn't for you it all you want is meat and potatoes or a steak
My wife and I went here on a post-Christmas date. We like tapas-style eating and found this gem by Google search. Don't let the vaguely unimaginative name fool you - this place is an absolutely amazing dining experience.
The service is perfect for the small, cozy ambiance of the room, and their knowledge of the menu is a pleasant surprise. My wife, who is a celiac, loves the clarity of the menu, with all of the GF items clearly marked.
And the food - WOW. We enjoyed 5 items (other than the olives that are a must-order anytime you have tapas); all of them were beautifully presented and prepared. The absolute star of dinner was the beet and apple salad with manchego cheese. Honestly - tuna was great, steak was very good, Caesar salad fresh and crisp - but the salad - that was something else - good enough that we had to order it twice!
Looking for a great place for a romantic dinner with a loved one, a special occasion or just a fantastic dinner. How good was it? We already booked our Valentines dinner there!
Tapas is an excellent restaurant. We spent two months in Spain last winter and on all counts, Tapas is as good or better than even the high end tapas restaurants that we enjoyed in Toledo, Seville, Javea and elsewhere. One of the real strengths of Tapas is that they do not try to copy the dishes one would enjoy in Spain, but to use the best quality ingredients, both local and imported, to prepare and present delicious food in the tapas style.
Had a very nice time dinning here. The food was great and service was friendly. Thank you for a great night.
The food was good. Small portions though and very pricey. The service was disappointing. Not good service at all.
Wouldn't go there again for a supper maybe just an appitizer.
My love for lamb led me in choosing this restaraunt for New Years weekend celebration with my partner. Upon ordering the lamb and a starter for myself and shared mussels and duck with my partner, we were told they no longer had either lamb or mussels. Rather than letting this spoil our special night, we stayed and ate other options. Overall, the service from the waitress was poor and in turn, created an unwelcoming atmosphere. The food was mediocre at best, prices were too high for the quality.
We went for our anniversary based on the good reviews and it has a nice atmosphere but the food portions were quite small, expensive and just OK. If you go make sure you eat before hand or you’ll leave hungry unless you order at least 3 or 4 items per person at $20-$30 a piece. They sat us up on the second floor when it was -30degC outside and it was ridiculously cold. We had to keep our heavy winter coats on for the entire meal. Not a repeat.
The food was great but nothing I couldn't prepare for a much better price at home. The service was great when they paying attention, very informative. We were sat by a window and told that it wouldn't be cold. It was freezing. It's great but I wouldn't go again because it was too pricy. The food should be orgasmic if its going to be at the price, not just really good.
