Food was good for the most part although the paella was over salted. Waiter was very good but the hostess was extremely rude and tried to rush us to finish our drinks. She said "I need your table". Wow! Never experienced anything so unprofessional before.

We had an early dinner. Food was good and so was the service. We stayed for the Sunday entertainment - a Cuban band. The entertainment was excellent. We danced and had a great time. We’re coming back to experience the Flamenco show. Don’t let the Cuban band go, they were really good!!

Went to this place by the reviews. Really wanted to try the paella for the first time, it was alright. Not much flavor. Clams in it were sort of sandy in mouth. Service was good, they brought our food late but made up with free dessert.

Sat outside near the fireplace on a warm winter evening. Bustling and busy in all the right ways. Food was very good. Oxtail was fantastic. Luxuriously rich and delicious. Lamb chops were very good. My wife loved the sofrito. We relaxed for several hours enjoying three rounds of tapas and a bottle of wine. Service was great throughout. Finished off the feast with the Catalan Creme. Delicious! Can’t wait to eat here again.

We booked a table near the stage in order to see the performers. Glad we did, as it was busy.
Service a little slow to get going, but expected a leisurely dinner Spanish style. Food was awesome. We ate the Chef's dinner, and only wish the wine came with it, not afterwards. Entertainment was great!

A very crowded Saturday night was overwhelming for the service staff. We waited 15 minutes after being seated for a waitress to show up --which happened after we asked the hostess if we had an assigned server. Food was delicious but took almost a half hour to get appetizers. 45 minutes after seating we finally had some food! Paella was tasty but just warm which was strange as it is served in a hot pan. Must have sat for a while before served.
I will try this again but not on a busy night.

We decided to try something new and on Open Tables site. We sat out doors next to a cozy fire pit and they had live Spanish trio performing. Great ambiance. The food and sangria were wonderful and the three of us shared 4 Tapas and the black rice seafood paella which was very flavorful and different from traditional flavor (nutty and Smokey). I would say that it was more pricey than $$, more like $$$; however we will definitely be back.

We went for my hubbys birthday. The tapas we had to start were terrific. Service was good until we ordered our entrees, it took about 45 minutes, had to ask if they forgot us as tables that sat after us were served before us. Having said that, the entrees were really good. Not sure why it took so long to get out meals, it was disappointing since we had company in town. It is a nice place for a special occasion.

Our dinner here was a highlight on a recent trip to Phoenix. I’ve traveled extensively in Spain and can verify that the dishes are authentic and representative of what you would find there. The pisto and the solomillo were delicious. If we lived there we would go back many times to explore more of the menu. The dining room was elegant and the flamenco show was a nice touch.

The food was delicious we enjoyed almost everything we ordered (except the oxtail- big disappointment). The problem with the service is they seem to be understaffed. We waited a very long time to order. Then the dishes came out very sporadically. We didn't get one that we ordered which was ok because we were stuffed. The paella was delicious but a bit pricey for the size and amount of seafood in it. They were nice though and brought a dessert and flute of champagne for my husband's birthday. We will likely return just hope they can work out service issues.

Dinner before Christmas Eve mass.

Great ambiance, food and service.

They always have good music. It can be a little loud if you are close to the musicians. Since we wanted to talk, we requested a table away from the music.

Tapas Papa Frita never fails to meet our expectations—it’s fun without being too expensive. The food is dependable and the plates good for sharing. It is lively without being too loud. When you can, enjoy the patio—it’s like a fairyland in the evening.

We had dinner at Tapas Papas Frita this past Friday night, it was our first time here. It is located along the canal waterfront in downtown Scottsdale and it's a very happening area for night life. The restaurant is vibrant, beautifully decorated, and full of life. They have live music and flamenco dancing. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and very authentic Spanish food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great flamenco show with great food: gambas al ajillo, mushrooms in sherry sauce, patatas alioli verdi, house salad, beef skewers, lamb chops, churros con chocolate, wine and sangria by the glass. Our friends brought their 3-year-old, who was mesmerized by the flamenco dance; she was trying to copy it before the night was over.

The food is outstanding and the outdoor seating is nxt to the canal and jogging path. No tap beers, but otherwise a full bar. The best bet is the chef special with tapas and a big paella.

I went there for my birthday and the server was nothing but horrible, his service pretty much ruined my family time. The time between a plate an another was ridiculous! I ended up having dinner alone because the server kept bringing out one plate at time. It took him forever to get us refills, we literally had to ask him for a refill 20 mintues after our cups were empty. I regret the moment in which I decided to celebrate my birthday at this restaurant. Will never go back.

This my second time and both times the food has been very good. The menu has a great selection of tapas and meant for sharing; however some of the tapas may be too small and if sharing; you may need to order a few plates, if you are sharing with more than two people. The paellas are very good. On my second visit the restaurant was busier than the first so the service was a bit slower and the waitress seem to be a bit overwhelmed with the tables that she was managing. This definitely will not push me away from the restaurant I will definitely be back as the first time I had a great experience and I know that because it was busier she may have been overwhelmed so I'm not going to go hold it against the restaurant. Be prepare to wait a bit longer for your food if you order Paella. Hint, hint. Order a few tapas before the paella and rhe wait will not be noticeable.

We had an excellent evening with friends. We sat outside (away from band as they are great for background but are reasonably loud) We shared lots of Tapas dishes which were excellent and 2 Paella’s (Valencia - traditional, Diablo - V hot and spicy)

Wine is reasonably priced and a good selection. Will definitely be going back.

We enjoyed a lovely fall evening on the patio of Tapas Papa Frita. It is a great place to share tapas and also has wonderful paella choices to share. The wine list rightly leans to Spain with a few continental choices thrown in. The service is friendly and helpful in translating the menu and offering suggestions. The bacon wrapped dates are always an excellent choice. The meatballs were a bit bland and the sauce did not do anything for them. The lamb was tasty but overdone. The dessert churros are a must eat.
Tapas Papa Frita allows you to dine leisurely while enjoying the patio. They have live music on Fridays and Flamenco on Saturday.

I loved the outdoor seating. It was really cute one the patio. I am not really picky when it comes to food, but for the prices, the food was not that great. One of the dishes we ordered due to seeing others on Open Table suggesting it were the Lamb Chops. They were over cooked. The little sausages had a really strange and strong taste. The food just was nothing to talk about. I was a little disappointing since this was our night out in Scottsdale while on vacation.
