Food wasn’t bad but service was very slow. We had a party of 10 and no manager came over. The server apologized but did little to make a really long wait for a birthday party easier. The way things were handled shows a very sloppily run company. Not one I will revisit.
The food was ok to good, a little over compensated with salt. The service wasn’t very good. They may have been short of staff. They brought our food and laid it on the table and didn’t take our completed appetizers so there was no room and they did not bring us plates. They also didn’t refill our water. I just think that they were understaffed. The entertainment was good.
The food was tasteless and not authentic Spanish. All portions was small and extremely expensive.
Will never return.
My sister and I enjoyed the Flamenco night! The tapas are a little more pricey then what you expect in Spain, but he food was PHENOMENAL. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
There are very few tapas options in the Greater Phoenix area and this place does a great job being among the few. Food was fantastic, came out quickly and the live music on the Saturday we went was a very welcome addition to the experience.
This is her third time visiting this restaurant and as always it was excellent and spot on. We will be definitely bringing more friends so that they can enjoy as much as we do.
Food is very good. We really enjoyed the Flamenco, but the set up of the tables and stage doesn't work well. Bar is also situated in a strange area. Service we had was slow.
The lobster paella with garlic aioli was a marriage made in heaven!
Place was good. Atmosphere was good service good but the food was ok. Paella wasn’t great tapas were fine.
Unfortunately I'm less and less impressed each time I go. It's so loud unless you are in the far corner you can not hear anyone at your table. This is the 2nd time we had to be moved (both times were seated directly next to the stage, and even after moving there was a lot of shouting to hear someone next to you). Unfortunately this time it was also VERY hot in the restaurant, everyone at the table was sweating. The tapas were great, the Paella was just so-so this time. 3 Paellas also came out at different times, leaving our table with only 1 for 20 minutes while someone embarrassingly ate while others had no food. Our waiter had a very hard time hearing us, we had a couple missing dishes we had to ask for multiple times and at the end our bill was messed up. I'm sure the bill was a one-time thing but this is the 4th time I've gone there and it started as a fun experience the first time but by this last time it was just regrettable and that should not come at such an expensive price (~$240 for 5 people). Sad because they have great tapas and a decent concept they just need to work on the ambiance.
Great place to celebrate a birthday!
Best date ever!! Great place to romanticly enjoy a dinner. This is one of the best and few restaurants where the food, culture, ambiance, music, and taste coalesce into one romantic experience you will feel transports you to romantic Spain!! Strongly recommend
Everything was amazing!
Celebrating retirement and introducing friends to flamenco dance and music. Olé
First try. Loved tapas when in Spain, so thought we should try this. Food and service were very good. Close to Fashion Square and other downtown sites.
The food quality was poor and below average. You can tell the frozen veggie/meat /seafood being used, and it wasn't cheap at all.
My girlfriend is moving to Spain... we did s girls night as a send off... his was my first time there and it was a beautiful experience!
It was way too loud and they have added more tables cramming way to many people in. If you’re at a booth then you need to move so others in a different party can get to that table. Patio is amazing however and highly suggested.
Ambiance, food was fabulous! Server was great, felt bad at one point, he truly was overwhelmed and we still tipped him 20% wished we could’ve been closer to dancers to see there feet.. but music was fabulous! We’ll be be back😊
Enjoyed my birthday evening! Thank you for the Manager who gave me a very nice table.
Sylvia Lopez from Basque!
It was fantastic from start to finish, including the soccer conversation we had on the way out with the owner! EPA!!
Highly recommend. We came here for a bachelorette party and it was amazing! The flamenco dancer invited the bride-to-be on stage with her. The food is amazing and the sangria was awesome.
Loved everything about this place! Can’t wait to go back ! 😊
Rakaal/Raquel (sp?) was a fabulous server. Personable, sweet and knowledgeable of the menu and cuisine. The food was beyond delicious and reasonable for the amount received. Will be going back this week with a friend bc it was so good!
This restaurant is just amazing! The wait staff are always professional and know the menu. The food is great with Chef Joseph’s family recipes and beautifully prepared. It’s always such a treat to come here and know you’re going to have a great time and enjoy all the wonderful food! I wish we lived closer as we would be there every day!
Food was great tasting. Service was perfect. Staff was attentive and quick to refill water glasses. Portions were generous. Want to go back and try other items.....soon!
Went there for my wife's birthday as she likes the live music and Flamingo show. We ordered a few tapas for appetizer, three types of Paellas and deserts. The tapas were good though the fried calamari could have used a dipping sauce. All three Paellas were excellent. The deserts were very good. It was very busy being a Sat nights, not a place for a quick meal but we were fine with that; not in any hurry. The waiter was very helpful and fulfilled every request; also gave us some complimentary dessert wine and a complimentary dessert with sparkler for her birthday. He did not come around too often as the staff was pretty busy. The music and dancing were entertaining, especially for those who had not seen it before.
Four adults and three children with no bar beverages came up to $285 which included a large group service charge. Don't get me wrong. This place is great. The music was fun and the Flamingo Dancing was terrific (and I've seen Flamingo Dancing in Barcelona). If you and another couple want to grab dinner with the kids this is not your place. If you are out for a special occassion or just want to be entertained with dinner - this is the ticket.
Another note, the paella is outstanding and served in volume. We ordered two kinds; each a serving for three. We only needed one serving for three for our entire party because we had tapas before. Just a heads up that the paella is a meal on its own.
It was my first time coming to this restaurant and I booked a table a day ahead for a friend's birthday party and asked for a view of the flamenco performance. It was 7:30pm on a Saturday night and they gave us the best seat in the house. The food was amazing, delicious, and filling, and brought back memories of Barcelona. It was a bit hard to hear conversations between our waitress and ourselves since we were right in front of the performers, but we enjoyed our time and the show. This was definitely worth trying and will come back soon!
Great paella, sangria, and service! Great experience!
As always, everything was excellent. We enjoyed the live music, although it did sometimes make conversation tricky.
Always so fun & exceptional Food & service!
We have enjoyed Tapas Papas Frita many times with friends and or family. we always enjoy the food, wine and service. This time the service was not up to their standard, not sure why but I was disappointed in our server. We will certianley go back again hoping their service is up to standard, overall an enjoyable evening.
Best Spanish/tapas place in the Phx area. Authentic, delicious and lots of fun on the nights when they have flamencos. Highly recommend!
We sat on the patio near the canal and the atmosphere was just lovely for Restaurant Week.. The service was dependable, but the food was a little disappointing as we had last year to compare it to. Two of us ordered the pork ribs and we both agreed they were dry and over cooked. Others ordered the Oslo Buck, which was tender and juicy. The first-course tapas were delicious. The special was supposed to include a glass of Moscato wine, which wasn’t served. The desserts were not outstanding. We really like going to Tapas Papa Frita and, Although the food was a little disappointing, I would still go back for another try.
Great food, we went for restaurant week and the menu covered vegetarian and vegan options. Everything was delish, and the atmosphere is very relaxing.
Excellent Spanish food! The live music was awesome! Delicious tapas, soups and paellas!
Sadly, the service was terrible. I ordered one dish that was described as "shrimp salad with mangos and avocado". It came with decent shrimp, but it was in onions and green peppers! I hate green peppers and only like onions sauteed. They did remove it from the bill, but it was still disappointing and she said the manager would come over and they never did. It was our 5 year Anniversary, which was sad because we sat there waiting for drink refills for forever. I was completely done eating and on dessert by the time my guy's entree arrived. It was supposed to take 20 minutes for his entree, but it was a good 45+ minutes. It was ok he said, but certainly not impressive and not worth the wait or cost. Overall, not a huge fan of the overall experience. I was surprised no manager came by after we had an issue (and the waitress said she would) and even to just check on us in general.
