Tapas On Main Ratings and Reviews
Attentive wait staff offered great menu support for five picky people.
We were well pleased with our broad selections and found the portions adequate for sharing. The background noise made it a little difficult to carry on a five way conversation but we managed and left with a positive impression.loved the spinach dip and the impenadas of our seven choices.
We have been there several times before and had a great meal. This time we took two friends and had a great night of flavor sampling. Great drinks and the food is very good. We like taking at least 4 people because you can order several things and sample them around. Fun spot.
This was my first time dining and things did not start off well! The ambiance was nice. Dark and quaint but quite loud! The bar was packed but we were seated in the dining room so aside from needing to use the bathroom that was located behind the bar, it wasn't really an issue. We waited close to 20 minutes before receiving our drinks and when those were delivered, the server didn't know which drinks went where! Further, he couldn't differentiate the sangrias, which was problematic since half of our party ordered flights aka the sangria samplers. Once that was settled and we thought it was time to order, he disappeared abruptly! Ugh! Food was somewhat prompt and above average. That being said I wasn't wowed. It was tasty and the presentation was decent. The server however, was very short and not attentive, which made the overall experience mediocre!
The family & I have been to Tapas on Main a number of times when we visit Bethlehem every Columbus Day weekend. It was somewhat disappointing this time. There were some good tapas dishes, but both the meatball dishes (lamb & pork) were a bit greasy, & service was very spotty. Maybe it was just a busy night?
I went to this restaurant with my teen daughter, after a day of touring colleges. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. A good mix of customers. The food was delicious. Great choices for all tastes. Vegetarian options if that's your thing. Fun place to go with friends and share dishes. we had tapas. The food was reasonably priced and the portions were nicely sized. Make sure to leave room for dessert.
I have eaten here many times over the last 4 years and its always been a positive experience. Six of us were there on this occasion for MusikFest. The food has always been very good and it was this time as well, except I had to send my scallops back as they were badly burned (to a dark brown). Second time they were perfect. Also when the bill arrived they hit us for 3 bottles of wine instead of 2, so the bill had to go back. Forgiving them the food is one thing, but the wine order was the only alcohol on the bill and a little sloppy on their part, even though it was busy. If we had ordered 5 and they charged for 6, I can almost understand it. It didn't sit very well with some of our party. Anyway the bill was changed we paid and went. I will go back again as I eat there a few times a year. If we go with our friends again, they may not want to eat there.
Disappointing. Very noisy. Server brought wrong wine, did not bring one of the dishes ordered, and runners were constantly delivering plates to wrong table. Most of the food was very good but tenderloin tips were not. Maybe cut them a break with Musikfest going on in town but, with so many dining options, I doubt we'll be back.
Had a late dinner here on a beautiful Saturday night in Bethlehem. The restaurant was crowded but not overly stuffed, which was nice, as it can be quite loud during peak times. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, although our drink orders and refills did take 10-15 minutes each time. The food on the other hand was prompt and all very tasty. We got the calamari and spinach dip small plates, and then each of us got a flatbread as an entree. They are also on the smaller side, but filled up many diners in our party after the appetizers. There's always something new to try and the sangria cannot be beat!
I have been here several times and I am never disappointed. I was hoping they would have a couple of dinner specials but they only offered what was on the menu. We split several small plates between 5 of us, and the vegetarian, the pescatarian and the meat eaters all came out happy and satisfied :).
One of my favorite places to eat when in town. Main Street in south Bethlehem seems to be a popular place during evening hours, but many of our go-to's are not open on Mondays. We were promptly seated at a desirable table. We opted for sangria, but not just any sangria. There are several options, in addition to the house red and white. I can definitely recommend the fresh ginger and peach. We then started with a cheese plate, followed by various tapas, including apple empanada, croquettes, and eggplant. All were outstanding, and filling.
Every time I visit Tapas on Main I am amazed at how dark it is- no matter what time of day it is. The lighting is awful, I had to use my phone flashlight app to read the menu at 5:30 on a sunny day- and I don't wear glasses and I am not elderly.
The waitstaff- Magda- was great. She was attentive and helpful.
As usual, we really enjoyed our meal. Love getting to try many different flavors by ordering tapas and a charcuterie plate. Service was attentive and the weather was perfect for sitting outside and enjoying the Main Street ambiance.
The only reason for 4 stars is that many of the menu items we tried to order were unavailable- one wine, two cheeses, two meats, and the Bananas Foster crepes.
