Tapa offers the tastes and flavours of Spanish cuisine to diners in the Leith area of Edinburgh. It is set up in a former warehouse on the cobbled street of 19 Shore Place, just moments from the Water of Leith and 15-20 minutes from the city centre by car, bus or taxi. The tastefully decorated interior brings back memories of Iberia, creating a warm and sociable atmosphere that accentuates the pleasure of eating at Tapa.

The restaurant’s menu consists of innovative and more varied Spanish Plates. Combining the best of what Scotland and Spain has to offer. If you can't already tell, we love everything to do with Spain! From the Chorizo we source from a small family producer in Getaria to the super unique En Rama Manzanilla from Sanlúcar de Barrameda, if it's Spanish we're absolutely there! However, we get that- to the uninitiated- that that might be overwhelming, so, whilst our Drinks Menu is packed full of real treats for those that want to take a deep dive, we totally understand that that might not be for everyone, so, we thought we'd start our Drinks Menu with a wee shortcut to some of our absolute favourites! We have been coming to Tapa for few years now quite often! We love the food and the atmosphere, it’s welcoming, warm and staff are very friendly and professional! Food is great as always! Menu is simple yet wholesome! We have noticed that our bill has increased on average around £20 ( not including wine) which considering prices have gone up everywhere is not a massive issue, however would probably mean less frequent visits, which a shame!

Lovely, friendly and welcoming ambiance as ever. Food and wine excellent and amazing value, staff attentive without disturbing our conversation. We were there for a few tapas and wine, appreciate that there was no hard sell to have more food, coffee, digestifs etc. also though we were one of the last tables there was no pressure to vacate our space. Keep up the good work tapa team….

If you have a gift voucher you cannot use it on Thursday from 5pm . They have 50% of food on a Thursday, why they don’t allow you to use your gift voucher which I had, is a very strange reason saying the company that supplies the voucher take a cut. I said don’t they take a cut every other day , yes they do was the answer. But the margin the restaurant makes on a Thursday is small so they don’t allow you to use it. This is madness. The voucher was purchased in the restaurant as a gift £50 value. Was told by the person who gifted the voucher Go on a Thursday it’s 50% off. THIS is not the case. Please everyone be aware of this. So paid for the meal. Now left with the voucher which I will use and then never return to this restaurant. Food was okay but better tapas elsewhere.

Our favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. The food is unfailingly excellent, ditto the service. Dan and Greig and their team go above and beyond in their welcome and attentiveness. Personal favourites are the Bellota jamon, the secreto (the kitchen does amazing thinks with pork) and the chorizo. No room for churros last night, but next time for sure. Dog friendly, too. Always a pleasure.

Absolutely superb fresh, tasty food. Excellent service. Amazing value with the lunch menu. It was very quiet, but I am sure it is busier in the evenings. Certainly deserves to be busy all the time….

Great food but the lunch deal should have included pimentos de padron which they had run out of. That is fair enough but we had no choice of substitute - instead they gave us the smallest plate of rocket and tiny flakes of manchego. We should have said something at the time of course! Everything else was of the usual great standard.

Enjoyed a mid week tapas and a nice bottle of pink wine. Food was tasty, especially the aubergine in honey and we had a very goog cheesecake for after. Service was friendly and helpful.

Really lovely tapas restaurant in Leith. Beautiful inside and out. Waiter was great. We all loved our food. One extremely minor query around the asparagus being small so a 4 not a 5 but easily rectified and tasted great

First time visit to Tapa and it was a very enjoyable experience. Nice welcome on arrival, great choice of drinks and given ample time to decide what we wanted to order from the menu. Very authentic Spanish dishes and great choice. Looking forward to returning very soon with family and friends. A big thank you to all staff on duty.

Tapa never fails. I have been a few times and the food is always absolutely delicious, great variety and quality. Service was great, everyone was very welcoming and attentive. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

Delicious food for all tastes. Fabulous warm friendly efficient service. Great value as well as happened to be there on Thursday night's 'Thursday club' where all was 50% off. Wow. Lovely night. Thank you to everyone at Tapas.

Hadnt been for over 12 years, it was quiet at first but suddenly picked up which gave a great atmosphere even a guy playing the guitar gave the holiday vibe. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable even the lady who had just started, she was happy to double check things for us. Brilliant night. The beetroot hummus..yummy!!

The Thursday menu is such a bonus as it allows you to try things you’d probably never order if visiting on occasion. It allows you to explore the menu at a decent cost. We visit regularly. The staff are absolutely fantastic and so supportive and understanding of a family with a child with a disability. Our son gets the VIP treatment on every occasion. Absolutely fabulous inclusive service.

Tapa remains among my top three restaurants in Edinburgh. The patatas pobres are my go choice, followed by a goat cheese creme brule and a healthful remoulacha (beet, but light on the beets) salad. Casual dining atmosphere with outstanding food.
