This place is amazing for Haitian food. Highly recommend it.
Have been there before for lunch and enjoyed it then. This time I brought out-of-town guests for dinner and was disappointed and embarrassed. Food was not hot. Water glasses not refilled. Noise level made conversation almost impossible. Very disappointed.
Love the ambience and delicious food! Everything was great!
This is a fabulous place - people- friendly- food- delicious- music- sensational. Loved everything about this place. The unassuming restaurant is decorated with beautiful Haitian art - much of it painted by Rara Kuyu who also plays in the band. Drinks are delicious - you kinda have to try them all... Haitian Rhum Punch, Mojito, and Karen's own version of Barbancourt /Bailey's like liqueur. Really - can't say enough about the people- service- food - music- and vibe. Note: live music Thursday and Saturday.
Party of 4 march 19, when u walk in u feel haiti, good was amazing, needed more rice for sauce, music level just right, chair is a bit annoying if ur wearing shorts or skirt u will have lines on legs. I will be back
Fantastic goat stew and rhum punches. Very good and friendly service. We always get the goat stew.
The restaurant is really a testament to Haitian folk painting and metal art. Every surface is adorned with wonderful images in bright colors. The Haitian Soley and Mojito were delicious. The food was not quite as expected - my daughter lived in Haiti for some time and ordered for us. The Mango salad was advertised with watercress but had no watercress (lots of romaine instead). The conch was quite spicy and ceviche style. The goat stew was tender with good rice and black beans. The mayi moulen was not good - sort of like refried beans instead of polenta. The portions were large and not expensive - there were many groups there enjoying an evening in this creative space.
A great place to be introduced to Haitian food. The place feels totally authentic, casual and unpretentious, and is all about the honest, homestyle Haitian food on the plate. Come here if you want something filling and flavorful without any fussiness. There's live music there occasionally.
Great food! We went late so they were out of a few items but our server was quick to recommend something equivalently delicious.
As others have commented the service here is beyond bad. It took 30 minutes to get a drink order after countless requests, food took over 1.5 hours on slow Monday night. Food is decent but expensive along with the gratuity included in the check. They include it to prevent being stiffed as the service deserves $0.00 tip.
