Tap Room - Hotel Bethlehem Ratings and Reviews
Brought my mom for the first time to experience the old town and the gorgeous hotel . Staff was lovely and accommodating decor beautiful and festive as I planned. I expected crowds but difficult having disabilities to get around there was no place for her to sit while waiting to dine. Brunch being the only lunch option was definitely not worth 50 pp and a mimosa wasn’t included. It was nothing extraordinary at all and will do lunch on a weekday or Saturday.
The beautiful surrounding made up for the disappointing brunch.
The experience of seeing the hotel decorated for Christmas, great food and seeing my Mother enjoy herself were the highlight. I felt things were unorganized; we checked in at two different places, the food stations were confusing not enough passage for elderly. Not something i will do again.
We come to Hotel Bethlehem several times a year. This was not a good visit. Our table back near the bar was loud and always intruded by loud bar crowd. They had no trouble extending from the bar into the dining area. It tells us that during holiday period we should stick with 1741.
I,ve been going here routinely for over 40 years - with a group of my friends fro Christmas. We have never been disappointed. Parking is available either in lots, or they provide transportation under the bridge - which runs well. ( No long waits at all) Food is always good. Decorations at Christmas - puts you in the "SPIRIT"
We were so looking forward to our dinner visit during our annual "Girl's Weekend" We had a 9pm reservation for dinner but unfortunately, we were not seated until 9:30pm. We were seated next to the bar with people standing all around our table and it was very noisy. We asked to be moved and this was promptly done but the restaurant was freezing. We felt the food was not a good value for the price paid. This dinner will not go down in our books as memorable in any way.
The food was so incredibly bland. Our entire table was disappointed with the food. For a meal priced at such a price point, I would really expect 4 or 5 Star dining. It was sub-par. Save your money and try one of the other great restaurants on the same block.
We have been going here for years and always had a great experience. This year, it was not good. Waitress was awful, food took forever and came out wrong. Poor table of ladies behind us didnt even get their drinks for 25 minutes! Overheard our waitress say “this sucks”. Will not be returning for a while!
As part of the lobby of the Bethlehem Hotel, the Tap Room provides a nice setting for a casual meal. This was our first trip to Bethlehem City, so we wanted a nice lunch experience. We enjoyed the Tap Room, and will probably return to eat there if we visit the city again.
Delicious and beautiful plus great service and very festive. The buffet was good but did not warrant the $49.95 price per person. You’d think with that price there’d be higher-end food but besides some soggy shrimp and a prime rib carving station, there really wasn’t much that was fancy. $8.- to valet park. Additionally, the bathrooms are not monitored closely and no hand towels were available, so there was nothing to wipe wet hands off on except toilet paper. That was fun.
The food was excellent but we had the table by the windows and it was incredibly hot , we asked to pull down shade but they couldn’t. It made the expensive experience unpleasant. I had to move with my grandchildren to another table so my family Xmas gathering was divided and I was really disappointed
Convenient location to meet friends in the center of Bethlehem. Historic town and hotel worth a visit. Another restaurant in the hotel more elegant, but booked. We enjoyed pub atmosphere in the Tap room, though especially busy and noisy with wedding and Lehigh/Lafayette crowd. The food well prepared and hearty. Priced more like haute cuisine.
Order was incorrect on 3 out of 5 people who attended. Not sure if Asian waitress really understood our order & she didnt check on us that much. She was friendly & courteous. No discount was offered for the incorrect orders. Place is very nice but the value of the food does not reflect the price at all.
I made a reservation for my birthday for Hotel Bethlehem. I love the architecture of the building and the atmosphere. It is somewhere I have been going for a long time, but I have never had an experience like this one. I had assumed that something would be done for my birthday, but they didn't offer anything. I did like sitting by the window, but I don't think that had anything to do with the fact that it was my birthday. The food was good, but my husband got a bowl of soup that was $32. While it was good tasting, it was not a $32 bowl of soup by any stretch of the imagination. Our drinks were not very good, but we just wanted to leave so we didn't send them back for new ones. This is the perfect place for one drink or a coffee, but I would not recommend paying for a whole meal. The building is gorgeous, but the restaurant leaves some to be desired. Every time I have gone with my parents it has been a good experience, so I feel as though since my husband and I look so young, we did not get as good of service or respect.
I took my mother to lunch there before we went over to the Sands Casino.
We each had a cup of the white bean soup which was excellent. She had the BLT which she said was very good and I had the vegetarian cheese steak which was excellent I even asked for some red sauce to put on it
They gave me the red sauce end it made my vegetarian cheesesteak hoagie even better!
I also ordered a side salad instead of fries and although it was an up charge the waitress did not charge me for it
We just had Diet Coke to drink The waitress was excellent and the food was excellent the atmosphere was excellent !!!!! Well done I will definitely be back here again
Server wore latex gloves- while serving customers and cleaning up without changing them, wiped her nose constantly on her sleeve, disappeared when it was time to pay the check... not happy.
l Expect a hotel/ restaurant of this caliber to train its staff much better than what was displayed this past Sunday.
Doubtful we will return
We happened on the Sunday Brunch on Columbus Day Weekend so the brunch theme was Italian. Not a big fan of the hot selections since most were overcooked or dried out, especially the fish. And the asparagus which looked beautiful, were almost raw which was disappointing. The shrimp cocktail looked so rubbery that I didn't want to try them but the lox were good. I thought it was very expensive for the few options that tasted good or even looked appetizing to me...and I'm a real food lover. If you are just interested in the breakfast selections and want to pay $45 for it, this is the place for you. If you enjoy all the other selections of seafood, meats and sides, then maybe not your place since, although the selection was plentiful, few were edible.
We had a great Sunday Brunch! Online reservations were easy and accurate. The live piano was great, staff offered 2 different tables to make sure we were comfortable. Food was incredible, found plenty as a vegetarian, but my meat-eating spouse was also raving about the choices and quality. Everybody was super friendly and helpful, (but not that annoying ask about every bite you take friendly). For such a beautiful place, I was blown away by how accommodating they were to our toddler's needs as well. Thanks so much for a great morning out!
Brunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were told in advance that it was a Grandparents Day event but that we would be placed at a quiet table and we were. The table was near the window which normally would have been great but the shades were broken so the sun blared down on us throughout the meal. We saw the waiter only once in the beginning and so there was little plate removal and beverage refreshing during the buffet.
Overall very nice venue, good food, but very poor service for a "buffet" offering
