Tap Room - Hotel Bethlehem
Breakfast, lunch & dinner are served with a view overlooking historic downtown Bethlehem in a grand setting.
Sunday’s Musical Brunch combines live music with a splendid buffet array. A holiday tradition for many has become a weekly habit for others. We are honored to be the recipient of “Best Sunday Brunch” by Lehigh Valley Magazine, Lehigh Valley Style magazine & readers of the Morning Call newspaper 5 years in a row.
First time at the hotel. Loved it and will go back
Always a delightful visit...we work in a stay anytime we're able! Great bar and ambience
We had a nice breakfast at the Tap Room. Everyone's food was well prepared and our server was very pleasant and refilled the coffee often - greatly appreciated!
Hotel Bethlehem Sunday Brunch has been our anniversary date for several years, and wil be for years to come.
Great food great experience
Very nice...well done
Great food and we had an amazing waiter. Enjoyed out meal while looking out the window at a fun fall evening.
Everything was fine except for the reservations. Either Hotel Bethlehem or Open Table screwed up. I don't care which. I made reservations through Open Table. Called Hotel Bethlehem to confirm. The woman who answered the phone said she couldn't find my Open Table reservations, so she made new ones. Got there Sunday morning and was told that I had canceled my reservations. Needless to say, I was not pleased. Got a table anyway, but took the shine off what was supposed to be a great time. I am done with Open Table.......
I took my husband out for "best husband in the world day". He had never been, I had been 1x before. We were seated in the Tap Room where it was much quieter than previous visit down on main floor. Our server was just delightful. She was attentive and very helpful. We went at the beginning of the local Celtic festival. The brunch offered wonderful Irishbthemed foods. We both agreed there was WAY TOO MUCH FOOD! So....we will have to come back again to try more! We loved it.
This restaurant is in a historic hotel. The hotel is beautiful. The restaurant is pricey for what you get. It is very noisy, even for a sports bar. The food was okay, but nothing special. I had a gruyere mac and cheese, that had not been seasoned at all. Our waitress was friendly, but overworked. I wouldn't go back.
Disappointed. Unaware Celticfest was in town thus the restaurant was mobbed (with loud “drunks”). We brought international guests with us to dine at The Bethlehem Hotel. It was unenjoyable. No parking in their lot, yet charged $8 for their valet parking.
The food was wonderful, as usual, and the entertainment was perfect for the weekend of the Celtic Classic.
Lovely, gracious service. Very flexible as we decided to move from an indoor table to an outdoor table and also flexible with our special menu requests. Truly a first-class experience.
We were celebrating my wife’s birthday. The Sunday brunch was very good, service and food. The prime rib was cooked just the way I like it, medium to medium rare. The braised short rib was very good. If I had to pick something I wasn’t thrilled about it would be the omelet station. There were just ordinary ingredients, nothing that screamed top notch or showed any culinary creativity. I thought it was average at best.
While to food was good, the service was awful. Food we ordered didn't come out with the order---food we didn't order did.
Yes, I'd recommend the Tap Room because the food is good but I would caution that they not go on a Sunday evening. What we encountered during our recent visit was an absolute service disaster. We specifically went to see the live entertainment that was performing at the restaurant and we're promptly seated by a friendly hostess. It went downhill from there. No one stopped by to introduce themselves as our server, no water, no bread. We finally flagged down a server and got our order submitted. Despite light restaurant attendance, the food was slow to come out. When it did, we realized none of our entrees included any vegetables so we asked for a side order of same for the table to share. It never arrived. When it came time to leave, we again had to flag someone down to get out check, then again to pay our bill. Complete and utter nightmare.
We've seen Chef Michael Adams on television extolling the virtues of his restaurant but this visit left us flat. It was as if the on duty staff simply did not are about their patrons. Extremely disappointing experience.
Great setting. Food is of a high quality and plenty of it. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was gifted with a house plant to take home too. Nice gesture. Would highly recommend.
Always a wonderful experience dining at the Tap Room. We each had the Filet and it was perfectly prepared. Wonderful live music by the Trio.
It was meh. Fish and chips were flavourless- I’ve had better in chain restaurants. Lobster roll was fine but nothing special. It’s good but nothing exciting, tasty nor innovative. It’s a miss.
We've attended the Musical Sunday Brunch many times before. Today, it was very quiet in comparison to other visits, especially holidays, but our reservation was for later than usual. The food offerings are always good - the omelette station, fresh Belgian waffles, assorted salads and cheeses, entrees and sides, prime rib carvery, and ready-to-eat shrimp with cocktail sauce - all delicious! The wine tasting table offered antipasto selections, and they were delicious, too. The dessert selections seemed a bit reduced - chocolate fondue instead of the chocolate fountain, and the usual assortment of mini cakes and brownie-based items. The macaroons ran out and were replaced with mini dessert cups - tasty, but routine. The peanut butter cookies were a nice change (but were not on the dessert table). The fresh whipped cream served at the waffle/french toast table was over-beaten and resembled something towards butter. Overall, a good visit, but not quite up to the usual standard, so 4 stars instead of 5.
Received a glass of champagne upon my arrival for my birthday . Food was great and so was the service.
My husband an I dined there for an early Anniversary celebration! We’ve eaten there s couple of times before the food and cocktails are beyond delicious! Love the old charm of the Tap Room! We will definitely be back next time visiting Bethlehem. Also Hotel B has an ice cream shop right across the street the ice cream is the best!
As this is a Thursday night staple, we love it, food great service great, our server, Robin was superior, very attentive. And we love the Thursday night jazz. 2 thumbs up recommendation.
Four of us went for a friend’s birthday dinner. The place was nice but the service was slow. We waited about 25 minutes for our waiter to visit our table so we could order another round of drinks. My wife had the Lobster Roll, it was bland and the lobster was overcooked. Attempted to use some melted butter to moisten it and give it some flavor but to no avail. Manager inquired on how dinner was and he had no problems taking that entree off the bill. The other entrees were ok and average. I wouldn’t plan on going back nor recommend. It was our first time there so now we know.
Great service, lots of food selections.
Our server, Malik was friendly and professional. The food we ordered was very good. My husband and I are not huge eaters but we left hungry. I ordered the roasted beet with goat cheese salad. There was such a trace amount of cheese that I couldn’t taste it. I ordered an extra protein of shrimp at an extra cost. There was no way that little salad was worth $18. My husband ordered the bison burger which he said was very good. It came with an order of cole slaw for $20. We are in Bethlehem, not NYC!
I would recommend this restaurant only when there is nothing else going on in Bethlehem. This is the second time I've dined here during an "event;" once during the holidays and this time during Musikfest. The restaurant can't seem to handle busier times. Example, we were there for brunch, the place was very busy and they had one person working at the omelet station. We ordered drinks from the bar when we sat down. A half hour later they still hadn't appeared. I had a similar experience when I hosted a lunch party during the holidays.
Never disappointed when we eat here. Had lobster pot they do during musikfest....love it!
Return again to our Thursday night favorite, again excellent service with our server Robyn, who is very attentive, slight problem with the cocktails, new bartender, a little inexperienced, but Robyn fixed it. Again the Jazz group was very enjoyable.
Overall, The Tap Room Brunch is a wonderful experience. The Tap Room overlooks the quaint town of Bethlehem, with its historical buildings as the perfect backdrop. While you are dining on a wide variety of choices from breakfast to multi-course lunch specialties, you are enjoying the accompaniment of a piano player. The service and staff are impeccable. All this combined, makes for a memorable experience.
Truest enjoyed our luncheon...excellent service...great food!
Felt rushed to eat my meal. The Brunch doesn't appear to be as good as in the past.
Delightful, as always!
Three of us had lunch to celebrate a birthday the other day. Our server was Nina and she was excellent. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu while she got our drink orders. We were able to talk and enjoy our food but she checked on us periodically to see if all was well. Food was very good...we all ordered something different and everything came out just right. The Tap Room is a favorite spot for lunch; always good, great service and lovely ambiance. We will definitely be back.
Excellent Brunch Buffet with plenty of options! Absolutely delicious and would definitely return!
Taproom visit disappointing. As locals, we’ve been to Hotel Bethlehem many times over the years and have always enjoyed going there. Several factors contributed to our disappointment. For starters, a bottle of wine ordered that came to the table bore a different year than the one specified on the menu. Server seemed surprised when we pointed that out to her. Food took an inordinately long time in arriving. After we requested, the server agreed to bring the child’s food earlier, saying that the adults’ would be along in a few minutes. That “few” minutes was closer to 15 minutes. Our food was lackluster. My mac & cheese with lobster, priced over $30, was only lukewarm, bland and uninspiring. It will likely be a long time before I consider coming back to the Hotel Bethlehem Taproom.
Once again food was excellent, service was superior with our server Robyn, the Jazz band was very enjoyable, and excellent Thursday night out.
Excellent food selection, beautiful surroundings, nice piano music, food quality/taste was excellent, easy parking - we will come back again
Excellent service by our table server (Olivia) who always was very attentive to our needs. It was nice for all the concerned to sit us at our requested table as we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary.
All the prepared foods for example (short ribs/prime rib) were excellent and very tasty. We can't recall all the other dishes which were quite fantastic too. The atmosphere was great with piano pieces being played as diners were being served. Hotel Bethlehem remains one of the shinning stars forever in our minds. Keep up the great work . We trully appreciated our visit there.
We had dinner for four on a Thursday night and the food was fantastic. We have prime NY strip, salmon, pasta and a cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was the best our guest ever had and the rest of the meals were very good. They had a good band in the corner. Our only complaint is lack of privacy since it's an open room with the bar being right next to the tables.
