Taormina Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I made reservations here for 13 people for my sister birthday. When we arrive they were running alittle behind so they gave us free appetizers while we waited which was thoughtful and great.
Service was good and you can tell they always wanted to make sure everyone was okay. After our nice dinner they brought out cannolis and an assortment of cookies for my sister birthday which was on the house.
My sister had an amazing birthday dinner and we were all very happy.
Can't say how good the food was because I never tasted it!! Had an open table reservation and arrived a few minutes early, so I did not mind waiting. After my reservation time passed, they promised me a table in 'a few minutes' numerous times, until I ended up leaving after standing there over a half hour!! I spoke to a guy in charge a couple of days later, but he wasn't very accommodating.
I frequent this restaurant about once a month even though its 20 to 25 minutes away. This is a place myself and my 2 adult daughters really enjoy.I make the reservation with open table and our table is always prepared.Food is real good and so is the service.
What a great find. It was a triple celebration: Birthday for my wife, and Mother's Day for my wife and daughter. It was extremely busy, with lots of people waiting to be seated. Regardless, Peter, the owner made sure we were seated in within 5 minutes of our 4:30pm reservation time. Barbara was our server. What a gem. Everybody in our party of 6 from 75 to 16 years old thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered and ate. We live in Virginia so we won't be able to go back there as often as we would like, but I think we found a wonderful new place for our daughter, her husband and their twin daughters to enjoy great food and service with their extended Long Island family and friends.
I had been there before, never disappointed .I travel 20 minutes because i know the food is excellent. This Mothers Day was the first time I tried the shrimp francese .It was delicious, the shrimp were large and many, the francese sauce was five stars. The waitress and staff are fantastic.Even when the place is very busy you get the best service, they are very attentive to their patrons.
Great dinner and Pete, the owner, always goes out of his way to great everyone and make sure dinner was perfect 👍🏻open table what is the deal. Tonight reserved T Taormina in Commack for8 at 4.45 and all had dinner, paid the bill and for the 3rd time NO POINTS. I reserved thru your site myself and asked at counter if they got my reservations when I walked in. Gentleman said yes. I wrote last week about 2x b4 that I reserved and got nothing. Really ready to take your App off my phone.
We reserved on Open Table for 7:30 on a Saturday night and were seated by 7:55 PM; not bad.
The owner Pete and entire wait staff (even those not waiting on us directly) were friendly, pleasant and interested in making our experience enjoyable; it was.
The fresh mozzarella and tomato was a generous portion with fresh garlic and basil- a wonderful surprise.
Chicken Gorgonzola was spectacular- again a generous serving; this time of tender chicken on a bed of spinach topped with gorgonzola cheese and toasted bread crumbs. Enough for 3 meals.
Our second entree was a daily special; Monkfish Livornese. It was certainly a "lighter" choice and a smaller portion but still delicious. It looked yummy and it was. Tender and moist with tomatoes and capers; perfect with a slice or two of bread to sop up the juice.
We did not order dessert but we saw that there were many choices. They all looked delicious as the waitresses walked by with the tray.
We will return.
Looks like a standard pizza place with some tables in the back. In a strip mall; have driven passed it a hundred times. We finally stopped in for dinner and were pleasantly shocked. Bread, salad and dessert were so-so, BUT appetizers and meal were nothing short of outstanding. I had pork chops in light garlic sauce; my wife had spicy chicken with artichokes. Could not have been any better. This will be our go to Italian restaurant from here on out.
They take reservations but don't track them, so reservations don't matter (we arrived in time and it took 20 minutes to sit) . My "risotto" appeared to be Uncle Ben's boil in a bag rice. The waitress was lovely, but took a very long time to stop by and our meal took at least 20 minutes to come out.
Had a party of 10 coming for New years Eve. Made the reservation with open table with no issues. We showed up and the place was so packed you almost couldn't fit inside. Our reservation was for 630 and we got seated at about 715. The table set up was 2 round tables with a small square table between them. You could only talk to who was next to you. When we asked if we could try to reconfigure it they told us no. Besides those things, the service was fine, the food was okay, the prices are adequate, alittle on the pricey side. Overall for the amount of people they were trying to service it was ok. I just wished they wouldn't allowed such a big party if they obviously couldn't fit us correctly or in a timely fashion.
