Had family in town, went to Tanzy. Everyone had a great time, look forward to doing it again. Food was awesome, restaurant is beautiful.
Great new find for us! Love it!
We’ve traveled many times to this area and have always enjoyed Tanzy’s as one of our go-to places. Food overall was very good; however, on this occasion, the service was horrible. When you order a higher end wine and have to explain to the server what a decanter is, there is a problem. After the first wine pour I asked to take over that duty which was the least I could do. Our server did not let anyone taste or sample the wine after opening the bottle but simply proceeded to start with what seemed to be a good 7-9 ounce pour into everyone’s glass! That did not last very long with 5 guests. We had another mixup with the entree orders which weren’t taken down properly. Overall, would I come back - sure. This visit, however, the service was extremely poor.
They have a lively dinner trade so we thought we'd try it for brunch. Good news: it was quiet because we were practically the only table in the entire restaurant. Bad news: the Server had no help from anyone else so every aspect was slow, despite the lack of other tables. The eggs were on the cool side; not terrible but not great either. They need to get their brunch act together or just open later on...
They were awesome. From hostess to waitress to the GM. We celebrated our birthdays there last night before a movie at iPic. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. We have been here many times before for dinner and happy hour. We will keep coming back!!!
Delicious food, but shocked at how bad the service was! It was a Friday night and seemed like there was only one waitress in the whole place!
This was the first time at this restaurant. We will be back, great food and the service was on point.
The pasta was amazing and the service was great. We usually just go to the bar but instead tonight we made reservations and it was fun the dessert was great.
A solid if unspectacular choice for dinner. Pork chop was juicy and tasty. The seafood entrees were average. Wine selection also about average. Quite a lovely room although slated for renovations shortly after 7 years, according to our friendly server Audrey.
I’m disappointed that the menu doesn’t say that the “tableside mozzarella” is only served on the weekends. I brought my friend up there for that very reason. You can still order it but they don’t do the tableside delivery. The mozzarella was barely warm. We sent it back and they brought it back barely warm a second time. Extremely disappointed. Everything else was OK. (We did have to move though because we were sitting with the air was blowing directly down on us that we were freezing) Usually much better service but this particular time was only mediocre...
This was one of my favorite places but it is going downhill as reflected by the torn booth we were sat in and the very dusty decanters lining the walls. Sadly, on a Friday night it was mostly empty . Over priced And if they don’t clean it up I won’t be back.
Love the location and the food is excellent. The servers could use training on attention to detail: cleaning away use items, bringing new utensils without being asked, asking if coffee is wanted with dessert, wiping tables between courses. Having said all that, we continue to frequent this restaurant because of the servers kindness, great food and ambiance.
I chose Tanzy out of tons of operable restaurants because I was intrigued by their table side fresh mozzarella service. When we arrived, the decor/ambiance is beautiful, although it is actually inside/attached to a movie theatre. The restaurant, however, was nearly completely empty at 7:30 in a Sunday evening. We ordered wine, and when I placed our order for our mozzarella-containing appetizer, the waitress apathetically told us that they “ran out” of mozzarella, and typically only serve it on Friday’s and Saturday’s. We were very disappointed and actually left the restaurant and went somewhere else instead. Definitely would not go back.
Probably the worst brunch experience I have ever had. Definitely the worst in Scottsdale for sure. Took snowbird friends out for a treat. Tanzy was recommended by a friend. Guest #1 had chicken & waffles--stone cold, dry chicken, sawdust waffles, inedible, no butter, Guest #2 had bacon & eggs--ordered over easy, arrived sunny-side up & cold congealed, no butter on toast, asked for jam--got cranberry relish, asked for hot sauce, never arrived, waiter didn't know difference between hash browns and home fries; Guest #3 had omelette and toast--also cold, no butter or jam for the toast; I had Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon--dreadful, hard-boiled eggs with congealed Hollandaise and lox that was so salty it was enough to wonder how it could be called smoked salmon. It was NOT smoked salmon--it was cheap lox. The waiter was also the host and possibly the bartender. There was only 1 other table--wonder why??? It was dark & gloomy for brunch and the waiter was way out of his depth. I would never go back, never recommend it and advise anyone to revise their plans. The 2 mimosas were lukewarm and unremarkable. In all it was a dreadful meal, never to be repeated again. There is no valid reason to return to this restaurant and it should not even be on Open Table's list, much less recommended. Shame on you Tanzy.
We were SO disappointed! Tanzy has been one of our favorite places, especially to take out-of-town visitors, for years now. The tableside mozzarella cart was always a highlight of the evening, and the food and service were always excellent. Not any more, apparently.
We took visiting friends this past weekend and were embarrassed and sorely disappointed. We had hyped Tanzy as a special treat and it most definitely was NOT on this visit.
We eat out a lot and experience all kinds of service but rarely ever complain or leave negative reviews. This time, though, we had some of the worst service we've encountered in a long time. Not sure if it was the server or the kitchen or just flow problems, but whatever it was, it made for a miserable experience. Our server looked unkempt and was neither professional nor even slightly attentive. Frankly, I expect more when I'm at Tanzy, entertaining guests and paying Tanzy prices.
The braised short rib, which is what I always get at Tanzy was still decent. However, the chintzy bread service for the table (3 slices of plain French bread for 4 people . . . really?) while we waited a very long time for the tableside mozzarella presentation, which was eventually canceled because they were 'swamped' (NOT!), and the terrible service throughout the remainder of the meal was truly disappointing.
On our way out, we passed a gentleman in a suit and tie, wearing a Tanzy badge, who we had seen talking to the wait staff all evening and who seemed to be a manager. He nodded and grunted at us and just kept going. No "How was your meal," or "Thanks for coming." Nothing. My husband thinks he probably knew he'd get an earful.
So, we sadly say goodbye to Tanzy. We won't be back. And we won't be recommending it to our friends and associates anymore, either. That is, until and unless we hear that they have made changes for the better and one of our favorite Scottsdale Quarter restaurants is back.
My boyfriend and I were deciding between Tanzy and a steakhouse for a belated Valentine’s dinner. I’m so happy we ended up at Tanzy! We got the tableside mozzarella which was a really cool experience. They made a ball of mozzarella right there! We both got steaks and they were way better than we could’ve gotten at a steakhouse, in my opinion (and we are steak people).
Food and service were very good.
My first time dining at Tanzy. I have the bone-in pork chop with grilled brussel sprouts. It was cooked just the way I asked for and lots of flavor. The server was very attentive and always with a smile and pleasant disposition. Overall my wife and I enjoyed the dining experience. Btw, the manager mentioned the menu will change in March. We will be back.
Can’t imagine it won’t be out of business shortly...or should be.
It was a perfect place to go to for dinner for a girls night out! Amazing food, but it was super small amount for the price. But the waitress was super nice and gave amazing service. I would recommend Tanzy to other people.
Terrible food. Nothing like it was a year ago. Meatballs were hard and cold. Tuna Crudo had a terrible flavor and presentation.
The staff was great, very friendly and the atmosphere was perfect for our business dinner. We were there on a Wednesday night so we were able take advantage of the wine specials. The appetizers were perfect for sharing with a group. The bar had a nice atmosphere for a group to gather and have conversations. I would highly recommend.
Lost our desert order. Service was slow but not because of waitress. Bad coordination with kitchen.
We have been regular customers and have dined there at least 10 times.
This was the worst and a disappointment. It looks like we will not be going back.
Enjoyable meal and great service - food was promptly served, great flavors and well prepared! Nice wine list with affordable choices - great option for a night out in Kierland!
Love this place and it's amazing atmosphere by far the best in the Scottsdale quarter area to grab a drink and get something to eat! Very Chic
While the restaurant was relatively empty, we didn't care. We had exceptional service, food and overall can't wait to go back again!
Pasta dry-too dry. Service very good, but kitchen needs help. Will not return
One of the best happy hours in town.
The service was great and the people working there were attentive. It was our first time there and we were not sure what to expect. The dining area is set up well for larger groups, I think, but was not that great for an intimate dinner for two. The food tasted good, though not spectacular. It was a bit under seasoned. My biggest issue for not recommending this place is the value. It is over priced. You can get similar quality for half the price at a number of competing places nearby.
The food was uninspiring and lacked flavor.
Great customer service and quick turnaround prior to an iPic movie
Last minute reservations were ok. This place is awesome! Great food and ambiance. And I pic is right next door if you want to see a movie
We had a family dinner for Christmas Night so I believe the service staff was reduced as well the menu but all still thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Anxious to return on a non-holiday night!!
Made reservations two weeks in advance specifically for the table side burrata. Only to be told no table side tonight. Very disappointed.
Fun appetizers with fresh mozzarella prepared table side, excellent wine list and quality entrees - provided in time from brief walk to movies next door
Gorgeous restaurant, friendly, polite service, creative dishes. Don't miss!
We eat at Tandy’s in Boca Raton often before a movie and it’s great and the whole staff in Scottsdale should go visit it.
The worst combined food and service meal I’ve had in my life👎🏼
Gave order at 6:15 pm and asked for bread with our soup. Received the main coarse at 7:10 pm which didn’t follow the ordering we had asked for which was a substitution of 1 side? The bread came after the main coarse was 1/2 done and I was sick from the onion soup after 2 hours for the next 4👎🏼
In case we relocate here...I know never to return. They took a few dollars off the check ...who cares...I just want good food and service which is what I told the manager. The people sitting opposite us also left early...and we made the movie by 5 m8nures😥
Well, when the website says dinner until midnight, you think arriving at 9:45 is fine. We were seated and then told we could only order from the iPic menu. If I wanted bar food I would have just gone to a bar. I wanted dinner. I was also quite surprised that with a reservation on the books that they would close the kitchen so early on a Saturday night. We left and spent $150 at Sol in the same area where we were able to still get entrees and had several delicious drinks. We may try it again sometime but it will not be anytime soon. FIX THE WEBSITE! Inaccurate information on a business website is one of my biggest pet peeves. If the kitchen closes before 10 on the weekend, don’t advertise dinner available until midnight.
Food was good but the restaurant was freezing. The management said they couldn’t do anything about it so they brought blankets for us. Funny, must not be their first complaint. Service was pretty bad too. We wanted the warm cheese appetizer but were told we’d have to wait 30 minutes. Really?
There are too many good restaurants to put up with this BS.
Went for Thanksgiving and had a enjoyable meal.
