Tanzy Restaurant - Scottsdale Quarter Ratings and Reviews
The service was great and the people working there were attentive. It was our first time there and we were not sure what to expect. The dining area is set up well for larger groups, I think, but was not that great for an intimate dinner for two. The food tasted good, though not spectacular. It was a bit under seasoned. My biggest issue for not recommending this place is the value. It is over priced. You can get similar quality for half the price at a number of competing places nearby.
We eat at Tandy’s in Boca Raton often before a movie and it’s great and the whole staff in Scottsdale should go visit it.
The worst combined food and service meal I’ve had in my life👎🏼
Gave order at 6:15 pm and asked for bread with our soup. Received the main coarse at 7:10 pm which didn’t follow the ordering we had asked for which was a substitution of 1 side? The bread came after the main coarse was 1/2 done and I was sick from the onion soup after 2 hours for the next 4👎🏼
In case we relocate here...I know never to return. They took a few dollars off the check ...who cares...I just want good food and service which is what I told the manager. The people sitting opposite us also left early...and we made the movie by 5 m8nures😥
Well, when the website says dinner until midnight, you think arriving at 9:45 is fine. We were seated and then told we could only order from the iPic menu. If I wanted bar food I would have just gone to a bar. I wanted dinner. I was also quite surprised that with a reservation on the books that they would close the kitchen so early on a Saturday night. We left and spent $150 at Sol in the same area where we were able to still get entrees and had several delicious drinks. We may try it again sometime but it will not be anytime soon. FIX THE WEBSITE! Inaccurate information on a business website is one of my biggest pet peeves. If the kitchen closes before 10 on the weekend, don’t advertise dinner available until midnight.
Food was good but the restaurant was freezing. The management said they couldn’t do anything about it so they brought blankets for us. Funny, must not be their first complaint. Service was pretty bad too. We wanted the warm cheese appetizer but were told we’d have to wait 30 minutes. Really?
There are too many good restaurants to put up with this BS.
My first time at Tanzy and I loved it. The server seated us right away. My friends and I had happy hour meals which were delicious. It was my birthday and I had a delicious chocolate cake with banana ice cream brought by the manager. Our server took care of everything not skipping a beat. She was one of the best servers I have every encountered I think her name was Marie. The atmosphere was charming and cozy. There was a live band which was wonderful and it played some of my fave jazz songs from the 1960's.
The restaurant has interesting mozzarella options, which is probably its best feature. The sea bass tasted fishy in places, which kind of ruined the experience for me. The restaurant is attractive but the noise level was high due to the loud music outside in the Quarter. The service was fine. For the price, however, I was not "wowed," and can think of plenty of Scottsdale places that are quieter and with more reliable fish.
I was very disappointed in my recent trip to Tanzy. I had family in from out of town to celebrate my birthday and it was quite an unfortunate experience. I ordered the table side mozzarella and after waiting for over 30 minutes, was told that it was now made in the kitchen and when it finally came out, the cheese was cold. In addition, the branzino dish that I was really looking forward to was not at all of the same quality. Apparently, there is a new chef. In addition, the wait staff did not come over very often to check on us and didn't even bother to bring a dessert to celebrate my birthday even though it was in the reservation. I was extremely disappointed and will not be going there again, which I am very sad about as it was one of my favorite places.
This place is pathetic. We chose it only due to its proximity to the iPic theater which is right next door. Problems began from the get go. We tried to order a drink from their online menu. They were not familiar with it. A good business model, when their left hand does not know what their right hand does. The manager came to say a few words but walked away while we did not finish talking to him. What a jerk. Anyway, we got a couple of Manhattens. Diluted too much with club soda. The appetizer was a grilled squid on a bed of artichokes, capers and tomatoes. The squid was like rubber, everything else came from a can. Really? For the main course we had branzino and Chilean seabass. Branzino was dry and inedible. How can one spoil seabass? Well, top it with marinara souce. Why would they do it? The only delight was their red velvet bread pudding. It probably came from a local bakery. Never again we will dine at this dump.
I have been here many times before and had a great experience. This time was very disappointing. The menu had changed where popular items were no longer available. The service was very poor and slow. We had to ask several times for the same item. All in all it was not what we were expecting.
I was really disappointed with the Mother's Day Brunch we had at Tanzy's. We didn't realize that it was ONLY a brunch buffet and honestly, it was HIGHLY overpriced for what they had available. French Toast, fruit, Eggs Benedict, some dry muffins... however, I must say the dessert table was yummy, but for $50/head it wasn't worth it. We went late in the afternoon thinking we would be able to have the table side Mozzarella service which is what we like there, but they said that was for dinner service only.
The waiter gave horrible service, was rarely at our table, didn't refresh our drinks like he should, I guess he thought with it being a buffet, he didn't have to work for his tip that day either. It would have been nice to be pampered on Mother's Day, but sadly, this one was a loser. We will never make this mistake again!!
We made reservations for Mother's Day brunch. Apparently I didn't do enough research before to see how much it would cost. The cost was $48/adult and $12/kids, which did not include beverages. The food was good, but we were disappointed in the selection. For the price, you would expect to see more options. The brunch at Talking Stick is $35.95 and has endless options (crab legs, prime rib, sushi, etc) and includes drinks. My kids, as suspected ate about $4 worth of food. So at the end of the day, it was not worth it, in my opinion. We got there right when they opened, had reservations at 11am. They were not prepared, food not in the warming trays yet, no serving utensils, etc. I would like to say however, the presentation was beautiful, food was good and the ambiance was nice.
