We walked in and the floor was dirty, I told the host we had a reservation that was made on open table for three. One person from our party went to the bathroom. Then they seated us at a table for two. We had to ask for a water refill several times as well as a napkin. The water had a bad after taste. Some of the bread plates were dirty. The place was only 1/2 full and we had to wait 40 minutes for our food. We ordered hummus with shawarma which was delivered first as just hummus with no meat. They added the meat, but it was full of gristle (fat) & the hummus was bland. The pita was fresh, but did not taste good. We ordered a glass of Pinot - Robert Mondavi - not good, we also ordered a pita filled with feta and veggies which was mediocre at best. Lastly we ordered the lamb shank and veggies which was fatty & spicy. Not good either. The servers were quite nice, but extremely slow. We accidentally left our credit card & when we called there was a lot of confusion getting it back. We retrieved it just fine, but will never return. I would stay far, far away.
Everything was delicious, properly prepared, and the prices are reasonable.
We love this place! The food is freshly made and excellent, the service is great, and the ambience is just right...we can actually talk to each other without having to compete with loud music or other noise.
Excellent food and service. Lamb shanks are exceptional and overall good experience.
We enjoyed our meal here. The service was attentive and the food plentiful and delicious! We really enjoyed it and will be back.
Awesome date place accommodated dietary restrictions perfectly. Great ambiance and music nice seating perfect host and service. Going back for another date soon!!!
A unique choice for a holiday luncheon for a large or small group. The food was very tasty, and everyone enjoyed their choices. The service would have been better if more attention was paid to the guests such as explanations of the food, offering beverages and/or dessert, etc. When we wanted more water we had to find the server or wait until she appeared at another table.
Excellent in every way
Our first disappointment began when they told us that the belly-dancing entertainment had been cancelled for the day. We arrived to a rather empty restaurant on a Friday night, which we attributed to the rain. Our entree of spinach pastries arrived lukewarm & very lacklustre. We were recommended the Mixed Grill, & that was just ok. The Lamb Couscous came next, & it was a real bummer to find only 4 miniscule cubes of lamb under extremely large chunks of overcooked zucchini & carrots. Unsatisfied by dinner, we ordered coffee & their only dessert available, baklava. We were very delighted that the turkish coffee was wonderfully fragrant with cardamom, & their baklava was a perfect size for 2 to share, was warm & crisp, & just lovely with the bitter coffee. Might come again for the coffee & baklava if we’re in the area, but only after we’ve had dinner somewhere else.
Very tasty and consistently high-quality food and attentive service. One of my favorites in San Mateo.
My coworkers and I really enjoyed the food here. Everything was wonderful food, service, and amount of food we got with our lunch entrees. The babaganoush was so tasty! We were surprised to find the restaurant was almost empty, but it was great because I could hear the conversations with everyone at our table. I definitely plan to go back.
Always delicious, warm and inviting.
Food was good, service was great, but the floor was not vacuumed and fork had food stuck on it. Need I say more!
Excellent food, fair price. family run what's not to like
A wonderful surprise on 25th St!! Excellent Lebanese/Mediterranean food at a good price. We will go here again. I recommend the appetizer combo, the shank steak and the half chicken!
Excellent service , food was fantastic, we love the quiet ambiance . We were able to have a personal and private business meeting and not have to talk loud to here one another . Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant .
Every time I take a friend here, they become longtime customers. This place is a gem. The service is outstanding, the food is wonderful, even for vegetarians like me. It has white tablecloth atmosphere, food, and service with very reasonable prices. Everything is freshly made, including the hot from the oven pita. I love this place!
We love Lebanese food and were really hoping to find a great place to eat it. Tannourine needs an update with decor and ambiance. The food was just ok. Appetizers were good and some of the entrees were delicious: lamb shank stew, couscous and veggies, but some were flavorless. I would love to see this place update itself and then rework a few menu options.
Babaganouge was a must! Best Fattoush salad I've ever had. We will definitely go back!
Service was terrible plus they did not have any lamb dishes as they claim they had a catering. Isn't that the sole reason why anyone would go to a Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant ?? Hello!!!
The food is just outstanding. Very happy. The Appetizer they give you is super yummy. The Schwarma is the best I have ever had. Looking forward to my next visit there.
This is our first experience with Tannourine and it has been very positive. The staff are very attentive and the service is good. The lamb shanks that my husband ordered is very tasty and flavorful. I had the marinated prawns served with scampi style. It came with rice and vegetables. Again it's full of flavor and the texture is just right. Since we had too much pita breads at the beginning and we ordered a sampler of hot and cold mezzas which are very good as well, we couldn't finished our meal. I also like the restaurant setting and ambiance. Good for couples and small group. I would definitely go back again.
Stephan and the food were amazing. What a little gem. We will definitely be back.
Delicious food. My family and I came here for the first time and the server gave us some great recommendations. Would definitely come again
Food was good. Service was quite slow, but he was very friendly. There was only one person serving all the tables. We ran out of water; so, we decided to share our water with each other.
My Wife’s favorite place. Had the lamb shank; just fantastic. Service was great; not rushed, allowed us to talk and was there at the exact perfect time to tend to our needs.
everything was very fresh. very reliable restaurant, it never disappoints.
Great services. Great food. Ambiance could be better. Good value.
Fantastic food and service as always! I took my family in for lunch and everything was perfect!
The best Kafta (minced lamb and beef) kebob I have had in the states! Truly delicious
Visited with my seven colleagues for a work dinner. The place was quiet and not many people. Some of us arrived a bit late but there was no rush from the servers so that was good. Unfortunately there were never any rush from them ever throughout our dinner. The service was very poor and we had to remind our server to pick the plates off our table and we had to ask several times when we wanted more to drink. The food was good and you get a lot for the money. The the service and the ambience is just not there.
What a fantastic place. A bit of a hidden gem. Fantastic menu and great service.
My kids didn't know exactly what they ordered, but liked what they got.
The food was truly exceptional. The owner was friendly and accommodating in many ways.
Fine Lebonese cuisine. Loved their early bird special. Can’t wait to go again.
Went with Lebanese friends who said it was the best Lebanese fool they had ever had !!!
Eddie the waiter could not have been more gracious and attentive
Good middle eastern food. The food was almost authentic. Arayyes were excellent. Kibbeh and babaganouj were very good, hummus was ok, and borak cheese was too salty. Service overall was good.
Grill chicken and beef was good. The minced meat/kabab was juicy but the spicing was overdone.
Plates at our table and others had food stuck to them. We went through 6 plates to find clean ones.
Even the better ones still had oily residue. Neither their eyesight nor their dishwasher worked very well!
No idea how this restaurant received high reviews...the staff were pleasant and spacious dining room. But food was a big disappointment. Bland, not hot, dry chicken, mushy eggplant. The hot appetizers were not crispy or warm/hot either. Won’t be back.
