Riley was a FANTASTIC server. Made for such an enjoyable and fun night.
Was really nice
We had such an amazing meal! It happened to be seafood night so we tried every option and our server Nathan just nailed it on all his suggestions. His direction on the meal and cocktails and wine was perfect as well. Can’t wait to go back!
Great food . Good service. That's all I need to say
We loved the tasty food and atmosphere. Very pretty room with real candles. Perfect for a date. We had Caesar salad, moules et frites, and ratatouille. It was a Wed evening and very quiet. Will be back.
We were very disappointed that the cassoulet had been taken off the menu.
I love the $1 oyster Monday deal.
The bone marrow dish is always a favourite too.
Food was quite good and service was great, despite there being a very large group in the restaurant the night we went. We got great food and wine recommendations. Menu is interesting. Lots of cold seafood options, sharing options for large cuts of steak. Rest of the menu has some decent variety as well. We got the whole hen and the gnocchi and enjoyed both.
We went to Tango with another couple for a pre-Flames game meal. We had not been there since they had changed from a tapas-centric menu to a more traditional one. I have to say that the food was exceptional.
We ordered prawns and tuna tartare from the seafood raw bar as appetizers and they were excellent, served family style on a well arranged platter. I ordered the braised short rib which was served with heavenly mashed potatoes and crisp french beans. The beef was as good as I have had anywhere. My wife went with the beef tartar as her main and enjoyed it greatly as well.
To top it all off, they feature a true key lime pie (not some food coloured cream pie passed off as one). One of my favourite examples of all time and I have had key lime pie in dozens of restaurants.
Our server (whose name I unfortunately do not recall) was fabulous, giving us professionalism mixed with well timed humour and interaction. The food was presented very elegantly and fully described by the service. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming and the decor strikes a balance between upscale and comfortable.
Finally, we happened to hit happy hour and selected bottles of wine were 50% off. The available selections ranged from a light pinot noir (that our dinner companions enjoyed) to a full bodied zinfandel that my wife and I relished.
We will be coming back soon and spreading the word.
I had put in a special request at booking and did get a call from the Tango Bistro two days before reservation to confirm and they said they could accommodate. When I arrived they knew nothing about it and could not accommodate and seemed disorganized. We waited about another 10 minutes standing and finally let to some basic seating. The service was extremely slow and food was not hot just barely warm. However the waiter was friendly and the taste of the food was ok. The steak was cooked perfect though. I knew the food would be expensive going in and that was ok as long as it was really good quality food and to be expected for the price. I have had many better meals at a lot less cost, in my experience with eating at nice restaurants in Calgary. Not sure if this was just an off night.
Great food, great staff! We will be back.
Suggestions: Onion soup, beef short ribs, lobster gnocchi, French 75 cocktail.
Perfect atmosphere for a quiet Valentine’s Day dinner. The server, Ken, was great and very helpful. The food was well prepared and served hot. Their desserts are incredible. Will definitely visit again.
Outstanding. I have had much more expensive meals in the city, but, this was one of the best that I could recall. I had the whole Cornish hen, and my partner had the salmon. The salmon was juicy, crisp, refreshing, and a reasonable portion size. She has some allergies, and they were amazing at accommodating our needs.
The game hen was delightfully seasoned with an well paired starch and vegetable, leaving me full, and satisfied without being gourged.
The server was knowledgeable about the menus, and was able to recommend wines and pairing that would go together. Service was fast ( we waited about 10 minutes from ordering, athought we were not there durring peak times) and the food came hot, and juicy!
The ambiance was soft, quite, and respectful, with pairs or small groups at all the tables. Noise was perfect for a private conversation, or a night out. Lighting was soft, and made everything look more expensive than the prices would suggest.
While you can get some menus items over 100 dollars. Most people can expect to spend around 30 - 35 dollar per person for a meal with a drink. We opted for their Tuesday "all day happy hour" and had some of the most delicious oysters we have ever had. These people have their sourcing down to an art to be able to get such quality delicious ingredients.
I have no issue recommending Tango to family friends or colleagues for a special outing or a client meeting. We will be back again next year, and are already excited!
It’s been a while since our last visit. We sat over 15 minutes before I went to find our server. The food was great but then at the end the service fell off again. The over all time spent at the restaurant was almost 2.5 hours. I think has the server not been overwhelmed we would have cut this down to 90 minutes.
Great restaurant, great food, very poor service, we had food on the table before our first glass of wine arrived, the meal was finished when our 2nd glass of wine arrived. The waiter dropped off the wrong bill at our table it was for a $6 side dish our bill was $150 had to ask for it. Again great food you should try it I just hope you have better service
Unexpected great spot. Hard trouble finding it without a large sign off of Macleod Trail. Had the happy hour raw bar specials which was great. Smoked bourbon was good too. Will go back and would recommend.
Every time we go to tango we have an even better time than the last. The service is great. The menu is amazing. We also didn’t break the bank for a super fun fine dining experience. Will go back often!
Main course cold vegetables old and over cooked
The scallops were amazing! Would recommend everything except the brisket burger which was dry and the slab bacon was extremely tough.
Food was excellent. Fair portioned and fresh. We ate mostly seafood and were very impressed. Service was on point. Dessert was awesome.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The service was friendly and attentive. My wife and I shared
a salad that was enough for both of us, and we had the short ribs, which were fabulous. The prices were reasonable considering today's environment. We would recommend this restaurant
Tango is the best hidden treasure in Calgary south. Best Happy Hour for raw bar and drinks. Roast chicken and pork chop were our favourite.
Chris di a fine job of serving up a salmon, a couple of spareribs and the porkchop. The porkchop was huge and the spareribs were nicely proportioned. Wife was very happy with the salmon., loved the risotto. A very positive experience and on the goback list
Absolutely love this spot. Me and my date had s wonderful evening. Food and service was fantastic. Will definitely be back again and again.
The Kusshi Oyster is the best other than eating in Fanny Bay.
The food is always so tasty at Tango Bistro. We love the steaks there..so delicious. A shout out to Nathan our server. Great job.👍🏻
We were disappointed the menu and format had changed drastically. No longer a small plates tapas restaurant. Food was good but entrees are expensive and don’t come with sides. It was a good meal but value was not great. Service was good but only average.
We were blown away by our dinner. We expected a good dinner but it was exceptional. Amazing flavours, high quality ingredients and all of our meat was perfectly cooked. The service was also perfect. We will definitely be back again soon.
Instead of exchanging Christmas gifts my family decided to go out for dinner and drinks. Tango was above and beyond our expectations. Everything we had was delicious!! We all had bites of each other’s food and we’re in awe of it all. Our server Riley was wonderful as well. She even brought my sister a blanket noticing that she was cold from the draft of the back exit door being used. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I prefer when they did tapas.
We booked at Tango Bistro to have a welcome home celebration with out daughter who was just returning home from New Zealand after a year. It was raw bar night, which I had no idea when we booked but it was great. We love seafood so this didn't disappoint! We were a large group and the service was great and accommodating for us! The food was great and we would definitely return again. Thanks for a great meal, service and setting.
Food was excellent. Menu options are quite different and live up their description. Service was very attentive.
Great service, great oysters, and great value!!!
$25 Lobster dinner was great value. Clam chowder taste so good. A bit over cooked for the lobsters.
Fast becoming my favourite restaurant in Calgary; excellent food, adequate wine selection, great value, pleasant service
Amazing food and service!
We enjoyed our meal and will go back. The table side preparation of the smoked old fashion was nice. Overall a very good meal. My only complaint would be how the meat was cut for the carnivore platter, a couple of the portions had significant inedible gristle. When paying top dollar for a total of 16oz I expect none to be wasted tableside.
Ya man, it was great! Everything was awesome, could have skipped the escargot but overall outstanding. Ken the waiter was on point. I'll be back!
Service was prompt and fantastic. Food was a 10!
Thank you Riley and the awesome cooks!
