They didn't honor our reservation and blocked us from even entering, saying they were full. They were very rude and didn't offer anything for the inconvenience. Pics on another site show that there have been bugs in the food. Never going here again.

The Samosas were excellent. The vegetarian korma was perfect for a cold winter night. The salmon masala was a little salty but otherwise tasty. Great value. Service a little slow.

That damn train is loud!! But great food and great service. Outdoor seating was nice as well.

This place was really underwhelming. i felt like the portions were really small for the prices they were charging. I got the Goat(Indian spicy), I wish it came with a side of rice or something. They do not sell hummus there so small plates are limited to hot food options. It was really hot inside so we sat outside, but it is right underneath the El train so it can get loud. The waitress was nice, but a little spacey and all over the place. It is fine for a quick bite, but in that area there are so many good restaurants it is tough to recommend for a great dinner to get your moneys worth

Not impressed at all! No air conditioning. One table near the entrance was off limits without any signage. Apparently there was water dripping down off the ceiling on the table. I’ve been to many Indian restaurants throughout the city, country and most of Europe and Asia. This was by far the most disappointing. The food was not authentic, traditional or close to adequate Indian cuisine. The decor and atmosphere was not pleasing, untidy and a tad unclean, to be nice. The server was very nice, but appeared to be very unhappy to be working. Service was very slow and food presentation was amazingly inadequate to put it mildly. I didn’t really want to write this bad review because i thought it was probably just an off night for the business. I tried to do my best to give it a chance. My girlfriend wanted to leave as soon as we arrived. I regret I did not listen to her. Save yourself time and money. This restaurant is an embarrassment to to revitalization going on in the neighborhood. My only hope is that they improve their appearance, service and food quality. I believe they can. I love Indian food, but Tandoor is a place I would not recommend to anyone.

I already knew the food here was delicious from eating here several times before. I also knew the staff was always friendly. I wasn't anticipating anything out of the ordinary on Valentine's Day, but Tandor Fishtown surpassed my expectations. They had decorated the restaurant to be themed for Valentine's Day, greeted my date with a rose, and started us with complimentary mango smoothies in flute glasses. Tandor also offered a special full course meal at a very reasonable price which was another welcomed surprised, especially on a day when it seems most restaurants want to take advantage of customers. Every dish served was delicious and served by a very friendly staff member. We will continue to eat at Tandor Fishtown regularly and hold it as our premier choice for Indian Dining in Philadelphia. Highly recommended.

We arrived on time for our reservation and the person at the reception desk asked how he could help us. I informed him we had a reservation and he told me that they had closed the dining room for the night and offered take out. He was unapologetic. I understand mistakes happen, but this was a very poor first experience with this restaurant and I will not be returning.

This restaurant is only 4 blocks away and a gen. As an Indian, I am wary of Indian restaurants, as they westernize the delicacies. Not this place! My friends and I had the Seekh kabob as an appetizer- the Indian way, which is very spicy. It was great, made me nostalgic of a place in Delhi! I will be a frequent diner there. Be sure to bring your alcohol of choice!

We've tried going here twice for a meetup group (7 people first time, 6 people second). I'd eaten here enough times beforehand to know its not ever crowded so having a group hanging out for a while shouldn't be a problem; both times very few other people were there at the same time as us. But both times we were kicked out after 2 hours. The guy would tell us there was big reservation coming in, and then immediately change to saying that its just the time of day where people are going to be coming in more, and that we can go outside if we want to keep talking. We went outside, and we kept talking, and no one else came to the restaurant the whole time, it just emptied out. There's no possible benefit of kicking us out. If anything: wouldn't you rather go eat at a restaurant that isn't completely empty? Why, as the manager(?) of the restaurant, would you prefer that your restaurant be completely empty? So in conclusion, its not good for groups and if you go there you may encounter this terrible man and possibly be asked to leave for no reason.
