We enjoyed the friendly, excellent service and the good food, nice drink menu, all at reasonable prices. Very nice ambiance. Will return and happy to recommend. The Seaport is the best destination in Aniston these days and this place is just a perfect drop-in for not-too-fussy food.
We love Tamo. Moved into the neighborhood recently and stop by very regularly. Oscar always provides excellent service. A great spot
I decided to make reservation at this restaurant a week ago because we were staying at the Seaport to celebrate my daughters birthday. We were a party of 5 and they sat us down in couches with a coffee table. I had them change our table. How can you eat on a coffee table. No apologies. It took 15 minutes to even take our drink order and took forever to get get our food. The steak was good. The chicken sandwich had no taste and it was buffalo. The drinks had no alcohol. It's an expensive restaurant. I just expected more. At least kindness. I'm not a picky person and never complain. We couldn't wait to leave.
The description items on the menu were misleading. Our water was very slow. Food prep time was a long wait. My food was not good.
Our waiter was amazing, food was great. Very comfortable vibes
Tamo was ok for a convenient dinner since we were staying in the hotel.
Would eat there again.
From the moment we all walked into the room we were going to be seated we were treated with the most professional customer service. Thank you so much and we will be back real soon!
I feel like the reviews and photos were very misleading. This was simply a classic hotel restaurant and bar- nothing special. $14 cocktails were watered down. Our server was very kind and attentive, the only positive thing about the experience really. I really wouldn’t recommend going here unless you’re staying in the hotel and need a quick drink and bite
This was a last minute dinner reservation and it went super Well! The waiter was a nice guy who was super attentive. If it wasn’t our last night we may have gone again!
Years ago Tamo used to have a great outdoor area
That is no longer the case
We booked thinking that it was
We ate there anyway since we were very hungry and Saturday on a gorgeous night in the Seaport area is hard to book
All that said we were pleasantly surprised to have a delicious meal at this hotel restaurant
The food was delicious
I opted for the Dine Out Boston menu charcuterie scallops and molten chocolate chicken
Good value for $33
My daughter-in-law had the grilled avocado as an appetizer (this was THE BEST!!) and wedge salad with sirloin steak added
It was me first time dining here and I would definitely go back. One of the things that made it a great experience was our waiter Devin. He was polite and personable and was very attentive. An amazing waiter. All of the food was cooked perfectly and everything tasted delicious from the chicken to scallops to the steak. It was clean and followed all the social distancing, cleaning and mask protocols. I felt very comfortable there.
The food was honestly just OK. It’s restaurant week prix fixe so I wasn’t expecting that much anyway. But the service was amazing. The waiter was so kind, so classy and so humorous and super attentive to all the tables. Like imagine a French restaurant with a British butler but he has American humor.
Went here on a Sunday night during Dine Out Boston, and had a fantastic experience. Both the entree and appatizer were well-portioned (unlike many other restaurants' pre-fix menu) and tasted fantastic. What really made the night was the waiter, Devan (not sure if I spelt it correctly), who went anove and beyond throughout our entire visit, even though he was the only waiter on staff that night. Great food and fantastic service.
Most delicious lobster roll. The service we had was second to none! I think his name was Devon! Thank you thank you thank you.
Service was good, but Toma was very loud, difficult for conversation and the lobster roll was bland. The bread pudding however was outstanding.
Very enjoyable valentines day dinner. Great ambiance.
Great food, great bartenders. There was a minor mix up with my credit card when i paid my bill, so the bar manager came out to fix it, and gave my date and I a free rounds and also a free glass of champagne. Top notch move!
The food and service TAMO is excellent.
server couldn't get us out of there quicker-rushed for all decisions food was good but way overpriced
A friend had just landed at Logan, and this was an easy place to eat before driving out to the suburbs. The food was excellent. Service was friendly if a bit limited.
Service was excellent. Only real issue was very limited menu for a large group with mixed tastes. Overall food was very good. We had to move our reservation up Ann hour and they had no issues with that.
Nice casual dining
When we first arrived there was a decent crowd at the bar and as the evening continued the activity at the bar Dwindled and the rest of the evening was quite enjoyable.
Food was actually very good. They substituted pork instead of chicken on our buffalo chicken nachos without telling us? That was weird, but took of the bill and gave us a lava cake dessert which was great. There are better places to eat in the Seaport but this was a last minute decision and most places were booked. The food was better than the service, the waiter was super nice just inexperienced. I would not hesitate to eat here again. They were also out of all the sushi choices.
Our host was friendly and accommodating. He knew exactly who we were upon check in. Our waitress “Van” was adorable! She was hardworking, attentive and made our night lots of fun! The food came out quickly. Great experience.
Been to the seaport a million times and thought why not try a new place. We were not disappointed. A cozy, high end feel with great food and beverage options. For a moderate priced dinner for two, it was definitely worth the visit and can’t wait to book our next reservation.
Food wasn’t special. Too expensive for such low quality food.
It was a busy Saturday night and we were lucky to get reservations for 5 at the last minute at Tamo. It is unfortunate that someone earlier posted a poor review -- perhaps we were the beneficiaries of that discouraging review because we snagged a table that evening for out of town guests who came to Boston spur of the moment. Our service was very good -- the wait staff was quite attentive. It's a fancy gastropub in the Seaport Hotel but there was something on the menu for everyone, including a teenage boy in our party who had a huge plate of chicken tacos. The poke bowls were particularly good and the portions of all dishes were generous. It was a frigid November night but we felt warm and cozy and unrushed inside.
The menu is awkward in layout and descriptions so it doesn’t do justice to the delicious & well prepared items.
The service was great, and the space made it easy for a table of six to converse. That cannot be said for many a Seaport restaurant. Oh, and the $12 wine flight was well thought out but descriptive hang tags off the glasses would have improved the experience.
Everything is perfect except for the server that just came to work and not to please the customer which is just fine. Hospitality and friendliness should comes with the package.
I actually liked Tamo at first glance and thought the food was good and reasonably priced. We did the Restaurant Week special, and I thought it was pretty sneaky and honesty a little cheap to put a 3 course menu on but in small print say you can only actually pick 2 courses. Also the automatic 18% gratuity for a party of 2 rubbed me the wrong way. Sure we can ask to change it but who is going to ask the waiter to give them less tip? It was weird and actually made me not want to go back.
Food and waiter were both amazing! in a great location and the drinks were delicious as well. The menu has many different types of food on it so anyone can eat there!
One waiter in particular was unfamiliar with the menu. A “banana split” was ordered for dessert that wasn’t at all like the menu described — it came with all vanilla ice cream, no syrup, etc. Brought that to the attention of one of the THREE waiters that served us, and he essentially blew it off. An 18% “service charge” was added to the bill without advising us. I almost gave him/them a double tip. When asked WTF, waiter said cuz they get a lot of businessmen there. Seriously? Never again.
We were seated right away and our friendly (and professional) waiter greeted us, taking our drink order. I asked about the Tamo Martini, no longer on the menu, and he had the bartender make one for me. : ) We both ordered the salmon over black rice and were extremely pleased with the dish. Because we were catching a show at the Pavilion across the street, we didn't linger too long after dinner. We were both happy to have chosen Tamo, among all the new Seaport restaurants that have recently opened, and we look forward to returning!
Tamo was a very odd experience. When we asked for a seat outside, they said they didn't take reservations for outside (only inside) even though we made a reservation already. They still sat us down outside anyways which was good. We had 4 different servers throughout the night, which seemed odd. Took a while to take our drink order. After several waiters had dropped glasses around us (mistakes happen), we ordered drinks. They gave us our sangria in a pitcher with a large crack in the spout and glass missing -- we weren't sure when it was cracked so we were worried that glass might be in the sangria, this could have been very dangerous. They replaced it when we told them. Food was fine, a bit overpriced. Hoping they can fix these odd issues for people in the future.
Very interesting food - nothing I would make - which is what I like when I eat out. The place is not cheap - and they automatically add in the gratuity (I almost always tip 20% - so the 18% they add in is less than I tip - so can't complain about that - just making folks aware)
Love that they had different types of "drink bowls".
Unfortunately we felt the food was overpriced for the quality and our waiter was not the most attentive and did not feel he was enjoying his job.
Good food and excellent service. Let us order from the inside restaurant at the outside tables
