Inventive rolls and great service. Felt the sauce application on the rolls was a bit liberal.
My friend and I met there after I got off work on Friday. Granted we ordered quite a bit of stuff but our sushi took forever to come out. All of the tables that came in after us were fed & gone by the time we finished.
But on a positive note the sushi delish! We did 3 rolls & a hamachi carpaccio. We had the Red Hot Snapper, Crunch Dragon & Spider Man. I think the Crunch Dragon was my fav! The sushi was very fresh.
Didn't know this hidden gem has been 3 blocks away from me for a year & a half. I will definitely be going back a lot!
Excellent sushi and a very good value for sushi. Try the tuna carpaccio and the house specialty rolls.
Fresh fish has to be a must for sashimi dishes. Otherwise, big issue.
My fiancee and I love going to TamashiSoul Sushi. Great sushi at a decent value.
It was 50 degrees outside and the whole dining room was freezing. They should have offered something as an apology. The rainbow roll was all one color.....something is amiss here...
The restaurant did not live up to its reviews. OK sushi that was quite fresh but not very interesting. I don't plan on returning.
Fresh Omikase sashimi! Loved their Sake Clam Soup.
Makes sense why this is a Marina favorite! Casual quick and great food. Highly recommend the Edamame (that sauce is amazing) and any of their rolls!
Very friendly staff and the house special grilled edamame was the best I've ever had. Their sauces are a bit spicy but I enjoyed that. Quality sushi, unique rolls and good sake selection.
Our go to for Sushi in the Marina/Cow Hollow area
Fantastic!
Mediocre sushi, at least at lunch - I won't return.
Great food and great staff. Sushi is very creative and tastes great
Great service, food and fair price! Will go back!!
Easy to get in with a last minute reservation and the service was spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stop before heading off to see more of the sights.
Loved it. Sushi was fresh and delicious. We sat at the bar, and the man making preparing the sashimi and rolls took the time to chat with us. The only negative is 1 server takes care of all the tables AND the bar. We got great service b/c we were the only ppl at the bar, but I could see some tables getting impatient when it took a while for the server to make the rounds to get the orders.
Great food and ambiance.
Found plastic inside my salad :(
My friend had the chicken and said it was the best she ever had. The special edamame was great as was the sushi.
Arrived I time and asked to wait for an open table. Waiter hit on my date.
This is my go to sushi bar!
We liked the food and service very much but it was just too loud.
This place is my go to place for Sushi in the marina! Is it authentic Japanese food? NO...but what place is...really. Sometime the service isn't the best and can get loud, but for the value and in the area, it really can't be beat! They are very helpful as my GF is gluten free and take special care of changing certain dishes. Must try:
* Special Edamame
* Sashimi Salad- Korean style with rice and spicy red sauce
* Red hot Snapper- its on fire, so good
*Sashimi combination- a fun way to get familiar with different types of fish
*Oh and the wine...pretty great selection!!
The good is always great. Reasonably priced for the area. Great atmosphere!! It can get pretty loud when there's a full house...so expect to talk over others.
This place wasn't that great. Just a meh type of experience. Not the worst sushi I have ever eaten not the best.
Excellent service and great sushi - love the spicy tuna!
I cannot say I was pleased with my experience at this location. I went in with a positive attitude but there were too many issues to deal with so I left feeling disappointed. We had to follow up on our order 3 times because they kept forgetting to deliver things like drinks and extra ginger (which I had to ask for 3 times before they brought some). The restaurant was half empty during our dining experience so I blame this on the inexperience of the waiting staff (who seemed very young). They also neglected to fill up our water until during dinner. The sashimi was too thick to eat in one bite. The tables are very close to each other (NY style) so don't expect any privacy. So don't take someone here if you are trying to impress them. It is more of a casual dining experience.
And finally, I understand that it may be impossible to keep raw food 100% clear of bacteria, but my date and I suffered from strong digestive side-effects starting immediately after the meal which obviously ruined the rest of the night for both of us. I understand the indigestion may have been an isolated root cause but I will not be coming back :-(
Tuna belly was excellent but expensive ($16/2)
Spiced edamame was tasty
Other nigiri and rolls were flat
Very good sushi and udon soup noodles! Great value and lovely area of town.
We were one of three parties in there when we came in and the service was pretty poor. We had to track down the waiter who was just walking around. As it got busier they began to turn the music up for some reason.
The sushi was decent, but I don't think I'll be back.
The noise level was too high. Couldn't talk to the one who was sitting in front of me.
With the closing of Umami, there are not that many options left in the Marina/Cow Hallow hood. With fresh seafood and a pleasant atmosphere, this place is my new go to sushi resto within walking distance of my crib. Looking forward to enjoying many more visits.
Grabbed dinner here on a Sunday night catching up with girlfriends. Good food and good value for the amount of food we got but SUPER loud for a Sunday early evening (before 7pm.) Bumping techno music and several groups who were "sake bombing" which was interesting for a Sunday evening activity.
Best sushi I've had in a long while. I'll be back very soon...like once a week kinda good.
The food was good, not great. The service was so so, you could tell they were trying. I actually think because they're blasting the music so loud, the servers can't hear what you're saying, resulting in so so service and misunderstood orders.
We visited TamashiSoul on a Friday night, it was a second date. Pretty uncomfortable from the start as we were seated about 3 inches from each table next to us. The music was too loud (and pretty awful with top 40 set to a club beat) which made it hard to have a conversation.
On the food front, the sashimi was generic and the same as what you'd get with any average sushi bar in the city. The rolls were overwhelmed with too many flavors and trying too hard in general. The recommended avocado appetizer was smothered in sugary sauce that ruined the whole dish.
The service was awkward and generally underwhelming, we had to steal a soy sauce from another table while the server was off doing shots with another group she was serving.
Overall, if you're looking for party sushi go to Ace Wasabi's and skip TamashiSoul
One of the best sushi ever!
This is a great neighborhood sushi place. Not fancy or pretentious, but it is welcoming, comfortable and the quality of the sushi has continued to get better & better. they have many of the standard rolls one expects to see (eg California, rainbow, spicy tuna, etc), but have a number of their own inventions (eg the Double Shrimp roll) that are creative and delicious. To top it off, the staff has been consistently professional & friendly. I highly recommend Tamashi!
We were visitors from NY with high standards for sushi. TakashiSoul exceeded our expectations.
It was a truly wonderful experience from a food point of view. It is a bit noisy but the young enthusiastic crowd was having a great time and so were we.
