Makes sense why this is a Marina favorite! Casual quick and great food. Highly recommend the Edamame (that sauce is amazing) and any of their rolls!

Very friendly staff and the house special grilled edamame was the best I've ever had. Their sauces are a bit spicy but I enjoyed that. Quality sushi, unique rolls and good sake selection.

Easy to get in with a last minute reservation and the service was spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stop before heading off to see more of the sights.

Loved it. Sushi was fresh and delicious. We sat at the bar, and the man making preparing the sashimi and rolls took the time to chat with us. The only negative is 1 server takes care of all the tables AND the bar. We got great service b/c we were the only ppl at the bar, but I could see some tables getting impatient when it took a while for the server to make the rounds to get the orders.

This place is my go to place for Sushi in the marina! Is it authentic Japanese food? NO...but what place is...really. Sometime the service isn't the best and can get loud, but for the value and in the area, it really can't be beat! They are very helpful as my GF is gluten free and take special care of changing certain dishes. Must try:
* Special Edamame
* Sashimi Salad- Korean style with rice and spicy red sauce
* Red hot Snapper- its on fire, so good
*Sashimi combination- a fun way to get familiar with different types of fish
*Oh and the wine...pretty great selection!!

I cannot say I was pleased with my experience at this location. I went in with a positive attitude but there were too many issues to deal with so I left feeling disappointed. We had to follow up on our order 3 times because they kept forgetting to deliver things like drinks and extra ginger (which I had to ask for 3 times before they brought some). The restaurant was half empty during our dining experience so I blame this on the inexperience of the waiting staff (who seemed very young). They also neglected to fill up our water until during dinner. The sashimi was too thick to eat in one bite. The tables are very close to each other (NY style) so don't expect any privacy. So don't take someone here if you are trying to impress them. It is more of a casual dining experience.

And finally, I understand that it may be impossible to keep raw food 100% clear of bacteria, but my date and I suffered from strong digestive side-effects starting immediately after the meal which obviously ruined the rest of the night for both of us. I understand the indigestion may have been an isolated root cause but I will not be coming back :-(

We were one of three parties in there when we came in and the service was pretty poor. We had to track down the waiter who was just walking around. As it got busier they began to turn the music up for some reason.

The sushi was decent, but I don't think I'll be back.

With the closing of Umami, there are not that many options left in the Marina/Cow Hallow hood. With fresh seafood and a pleasant atmosphere, this place is my new go to sushi resto within walking distance of my crib. Looking forward to enjoying many more visits.

Grabbed dinner here on a Sunday night catching up with girlfriends. Good food and good value for the amount of food we got but SUPER loud for a Sunday early evening (before 7pm.) Bumping techno music and several groups who were "sake bombing" which was interesting for a Sunday evening activity.

The food was good, not great. The service was so so, you could tell they were trying. I actually think because they're blasting the music so loud, the servers can't hear what you're saying, resulting in so so service and misunderstood orders.

We visited TamashiSoul on a Friday night, it was a second date. Pretty uncomfortable from the start as we were seated about 3 inches from each table next to us. The music was too loud (and pretty awful with top 40 set to a club beat) which made it hard to have a conversation.

On the food front, the sashimi was generic and the same as what you'd get with any average sushi bar in the city. The rolls were overwhelmed with too many flavors and trying too hard in general. The recommended avocado appetizer was smothered in sugary sauce that ruined the whole dish.

The service was awkward and generally underwhelming, we had to steal a soy sauce from another table while the server was off doing shots with another group she was serving.

Overall, if you're looking for party sushi go to Ace Wasabi's and skip TamashiSoul

This is a great neighborhood sushi place. Not fancy or pretentious, but it is welcoming, comfortable and the quality of the sushi has continued to get better & better. they have many of the standard rolls one expects to see (eg California, rainbow, spicy tuna, etc), but have a number of their own inventions (eg the Double Shrimp roll) that are creative and delicious. To top it off, the staff has been consistently professional & friendly. I highly recommend Tamashi!

We were visitors from NY with high standards for sushi. TakashiSoul exceeded our expectations.
It was a truly wonderful experience from a food point of view. It is a bit noisy but the young enthusiastic crowd was having a great time and so were we.

Maybe this was because we went on a valentine's day, maybe not. The waitress made a few mistakes just with our table. From almost running over us to get behind the host table when we got in, to forgetting to let us know that they didn't serve cocktails after we tried to order them (only to say "oh sorry... Everybody's been ordering them today, but we don't serve them today"), to assuming that we'd only be getting 1 omakase for 2, the mistakes were numerous.

That being said, everything we ordered was really good. The omakase particularly was well done. Too bad we didn't seat at the bar and get the real experience with the chef. Will try again on a non-holiday day

I absolutely love this cool vibe sushi place, a great spot for lunch, when you need to pick up something delicious after a work out, or for a place to start the night. The staff is always helpful and knows the menu really well. I would recommend the avocado bomb, Kevin roll, and special Edamame!!

This place was amazing! The edamame with soy sauce and garlic was addictive. We ordered four different types; all were yummy but the spicy tuna was my favorite. Save room for be green tea mochi.
The servers were all friendly and attentive. Can't wait to go back!

Our visit got off on the wrong foot because when we came in, the hostess-stand was right there, but no one was attending it. The hostess was behind the bar, glanced up at us, then continued doing whatever she was doing at the bar. It was like we had the invisibility cloak on! She reluctantly came over to seat us, but not before stopping to wipe down a table on her way. The place only had 2 tables filled, and 2 people at the bar, but even so, she proceeded to seat us at the worst table in the place in the very back by the bathroom where we could hear kitchen clatter - we moved. The hostess, who also took our order, seemed totally un-engaged and unhappy to be there. So she set a really off-putting negative tone. That was unfortunate, because the food was delicious. The cucumber/shrimp salad was refreshing and in a super tasty vinegar-y dressing, even if the cucumbers were a little wilted. I had the Tamashi roll which comes wrapped in foil and set on fire - excellent, and almost enough as a light meal if you also had a starter. My dining companion had several pieces of nigiri type sushi, and the fish was super fresh. The green tea moshi for dessert was beautifully presented, enough for 2 people to share, and a fun finish to the meal. The presentation of the food was beautiful and the plates were artful. The restaurant itself is small and cozy - beautiful bamboo type sticks on one wall. They had TVs on over the bar, but thankfully the sound was off.
