Shaking beef was great as usual. Our guests enjoyed the rice dish with egg. Service was very good and understated. Brought one bottle of wine and that was properly handled. Asked for some hot sauce for one of the dishes and it appeared promptly.
Loved the green sauce and the calamari, always pleased with the food. Service was nice and polite. Always love it here.

We tried Tamarine for a special birthday dinner and were unbelievably rushed through our meal. The waiter made it clear that we didn't order drinks and starters fast enough to suit him, but even so, we were finished with our main meal 45 minutes after being seated. We did order dessert, which added another few minutes, but we were paid and out the door in 1hr 15 min. It didn't feel special! The food was interesting and tasty, but the experience was spoiled by being rushed.
The quality of food is always consistent. We enjoyed the food, and the service was great. The tab for 3 for lunch without any alcohol was $120. That's $40 per person for lunch... not a place one can frequent casually.
I found the food to be exceptional, and the service equal... I bit pricey for some, but the quality of ingredients made it stand above your typical Vietnamese fare... Our group was for four, and each had enough to share our meals... It wasn't described as "Family Style," but definitely consider that concept when ordering... I rarely look at menu these days (I know, pretentious), and as the wait staff what to order based on what I feel like eating at the time... Our server Hector nailed it for me with the Sea Bass, and garlic noodles (their house specialty)... The four of us ate with a shared appetizer, four main dishes and three cocktails for $210! not a bad night

Tamarine's cuisine and service never misses a beat. We celebrated my dad's 75th birthday and they did everything possible to make it a special occasion. First, they put us at one of the best plush tables with a great view of the restaurants electric scene. Second, they had a birthday card plus homemade cookies wrapped in a small box for him. Finally, they brought a dessert out with candle. Nice touches that made the experience a great one. By the way, the shaking beef and clay pot cod remain wonderfully flavorful and tasty dishes. The Brewer-Clifton Pinot noir put a cap on the cuisine. Steve was an attentive and personable server whom we enjoyed very much. Tamarine will continue to remain on the top list,
I went here with my sister for a fancy dinner, and it was amazing. The food was delicious, HIGHLY recommend the empress rice--too good. The service was great. My sister accidentally ordered the wrong dish and they brought out a completely new and different one in less than 10 minutes. Also the food comes really quickly which is good and uncommon for fancy resteraunts. Only negative: it's pretty expensive- thanks mom and dad for paying!!

We enjoyed a delicious family meal at Tamarine, finishing our holiday in the US and time together with our Stanford student son. It was a fitting celebration. The service was attentive and pleasant, from seating us at a quiet table as requested, to plenty of explanation for the special dishes on offer and suggestions about combinations and sizes of dishes. The food was fresh, beautifully presented and full of new tastes for us. The shrimps were a firm favourite!
Tamarine food good but not great. The service slipping our waiter seemed too busy to take care of us. It used to be great but now it is coasting on its past repute.

Nice artwork. food was great! Felt like we were having dinner with the two men next to us. Tables were too close. Even the waiters had a hard time negotiating between the tables.

It is the place your parents force you to go for your great Aunts 95th birthday with decor that was cool in the 70's. They are too cheap to put in new lights. The IKEA pin lights are so annoying.
The waiter named Steve was beyond terrible and nasty. I didn't do anything to provoke him.
The food was very good but do take out. You will be glad you did. Or, go to SF to Slanted Door. If SD was in Palo Alto, these guys would be out of business.
The cuisine in this establishment is--in a word--nuanced, subtle, impeccable in production and presentation. The decor is subtle and "crisp". The service is superb, efficient, unobtrusive, and friendly without being cloying. Our server Mary Anne was perfect.
