The restaurant was overwhelmed...we waited 25 minutes for our reserved table. Had to continue to check with hostess...no one looked for us...were told wait in the bar....bar was overcrowded, with only two bartenders...could not get service....food was underwhelming....nothing spicy. I had to ask for spice. Server was rude and condescending....food was not as presented on menu....received salmon on my platter....cannot eat salmon...restaurant was very, very noisy....not enjoyable...will not go back.....restaurant food and service were better at the original location, which is closed.
Outstanding food and service! Also the wine selection is on point :)
Loved the experience and the food. The ambience was great and made it a special evening, just as we imagined.
A bit pricey, but the food and service are outstanding— definitely worth dining here.
Overall it was a great experience. The only think I would complain about is the waiter who was very pushy and seemed upset whenever we could decline another drink or his food suggestion.
The food was fantastic! Authentic. Just what we were craving for! It is a bit expensive, but is set as an upscale, fine dining experience.
The Indian food offered here is unique and really tasty. The service is impeccable, and the ambience is great. This is Indian food at its best.
Got there 30 minutes before reservation and asked to be seated early if possible. Did not get seated until 25 minutes after our reservation...
Sanjay was a great and attentive server! All the servers were very considerate and worked quickly to ensure our comfort.
Food was great - our server, vinay, was top notch - very personable but also very professional.
Very authentic Indian food . good space. And very good value too. Would return when I need get my Indian food fix.
Boooked through Open Table for anniversary dinner. Restaurant gave a table in a crowded and cramped corner and very indifferent service. Would certainly give a miss next time
Best Indian restaurant for more than 15 years
Vinay, our server, was great and did a phenomenal job. Can’t wait to go back. Extensive menu. Great food.
Always a great experience here.
Vinay was amazing ! Great server.
Made us feel at home !
Pre-fixe menu was average at best and slightly disappointing because food from regular menu I had previously was excellent.
Also, owner asked two coworkers about how food was but skipped me. Maybe because he thought i was Indian and it didn’t matter? Not sure what happened here.
Era domingo, el lugar no tenía mucha clientela .
Comida , servicio y lugar , buena experiencia .
I really enjoyed eating here. My reservation was for 2 at 8:30 and they were sitting us at 8:32. The wait staff was awesome, even on a crowded night. Hot towels for your hands and face, quick plate changes, water always filled. The food was great as well and very authentic for Indian cuisine. I know I will come back here when I am back in the city.
Vinay was great! He served us and was very attentive and friendly!
This was the best Indian Food, and possibly the best food, we have ever eaten. The servers were incredibly attentive.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our server, Vinay, was highly attentive and offered great recommendations.
We had an excellent lunch for our work outing. everything was excellent. This is the best indian restaurant in the city, it is much better than Junoon. We went for the executive lunch and also had a vegetarian thaali. All of the staff were very friendly , our server Vinay was awesome. He was very attentive and paid very close attention to all of our needs. We got a complimentary aloo tikki amuse bouche with green chutneywhich was great. We also got a plate of vegetable samosas in addition because we were hungry.
Then As part of the exec lunch I got Karare Murgh app, Lahori Murgh main and Patiala Gosht lamb curry. I have to say the lamb was out of this world, I would definitely get the Patiala Gosht again. It was my favourite dish of the meal. Dessert was Carrot Rice Pudding and Kulfi, both awesome. Just to top it off we also got a jasmine peal chocolate cake, it was delish. It was soft and creamy and melted in your mouth.
I look forward to coming back again because every single item was so very tasty. I like that it was quiet inside unlike most other rowdy places in Manhattan.
Always great. Friendly service. The food is great. The wine selection small but something for everyone. Interesting cocktails, which we will try next time.
Reunion with friends.
Always amazing!! May be the best Indian food in NYC!
We chose special cauliflower appetizer, and tandoor halibut. These were delicious. I was skeptical of cauliflower dish but it was crunchy outside and creamy inside.
The fresh halibut was a thick flaky magical piece of fish.
Their cucumber gimlet? One of freshest cocktails I have had!
Always a great meal at Tamarind. The executive lunch special is worth every penny. I have a lot of food allergies and my server took perfect care of me. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
The experience at Tamarind started with a less than stellar service at the bar trying to get the attention of the barman in a half empty bar, followed by poor quality cocktails. Having ate in several high quality Indian restaurants I can clearly say that this is well below average and the food is nothing special from the amuse bouche, starter, main course to the dessert being bland and lacking finesse for the prices being charged. An experience to forget...
Great ambiance, good food and Vinay and team were very good. Very enjoyable evening and meal!
Best Indian food in nyc!
Great service and food. Chicken tikka masala is delicious. Japanese eggplant dish also very good.
The team at Tamarind never fails ! Starting from Geet (anjali) to Vinay, Roy and Rene - everyone made sure we had a wonderful time. Time flew by as we enjoyed some amazing appetizers with our fav CDP, followed by the most flavorful and authentic seafood and vegetarian dishes. The chef is truly fantastic, making the entire experience - another phenomenal memory. Thanks 'Teamarind' !
The food is always innovative and delicious and our server, Vijay, was attentive, helpful and had a great sense of humor.
The Tamarind-Tribeca was everything I hoped for when I made a reservation for our 25th anniversary. The service was attentive (our server was fantastic) but not overbearing, the wine list was ample, and the food was tasty. I had forgotten that when I made the reservation I indicated it was our anniversary dinner, so I was quite surprised when the server brought out a piece of cheesecake dessert with a candle that used chocolate and icing to say happy anniversary. It was the perfect ending to a great meal at a wonderful restaurant.
Both the food and service were outstanding. This is definitely a notch above most places and we dine out frequently. Our server, Vinay was fantastic and extremely attentive. Every effort was made to make sure we received exactly what we ordered and that any recommendations addressed a dietary restriction. Given the wealth of restaurants in the city I don't often repeat places but this is one I definitely hope to return to.
We had the She chowder. It was delicious and the waiter split it for 2. We also had the chicken Tikka masala, masala calamari and seafood tamarind.. it was truly amazing. We ordered just enough to finish everything with no leftovers. Dessert we had the bread pudding also very tasty.. we will be back..
