This is one of our favorite Indian restaurants in NY. Vinay is an outstanding server!!
Was disappointed to note that despite informing in advance there was no arrangement made for the anniversary celebration for my daughter .
It’s a beautiful place with lovely decor. The food is top notch and so is the service. It’s a very large restaurant but it is designed to create some intimate seating areas.
Great food and great service. For a nice night out the place to go if you like Indian food.
We had a great time as always
The service and food excellent . Our server Vinay
Is just the best .
The staff is awesome .
Another memorable night at Tamarind! Food was spectacular! Ambience great and our waiter, Vinay, was very knowledgeable and so very good at keeping us happy! Great service!
Huge decline in food quality. Very disappointed!!
The food at Tamarind is always first class, the service outstanding and a good ambience. The noise level is perfect for diners who want to engage with each other.
ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO VISIT TAMARIND. SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO OUR WAITER CARLOS. WE HAD A BUSINESS MEAL AND HAD A GREAT TIME.
Absolutely stunning place. One of the best Indian place in town. Upmarket and classy. Good service level.
The food was excellent but the service was dreadful. The waiter at first was curt and very unpleasant. At some point he seemed to have gotten a reprimand because he became cheerful (in a rather disingenuous way). Much of the time we felt neglected. We noticed others who seemed to be in the same situation. We still enjoyed our meal , for all it’s flaws the food was so good we would still return
If I were to rate the place based on just service and ambiance, I would give it 5 stars.
The food was a bit under whelming to be honest. It could have just been an off day for them.
We were offered a complimentary veggie puff to start our dinner. We ordered cauliflower crisp as appetizer, and goan prawn plus tandoori chicken for entrée. We ordered the carrot halwa for dessert.
The veg puff had a greasy aftertaste. The cauliflower crisp tasted more Chinese than Indian. The prawn gravy was good but under-flavored. The tandoori chicken was the saving grace. It was perfectly cooked and was delicious. Lastly, the carrot halwa lacked the authentic flavor.
I understand the temptation to modify the palette to suit a western audience, however, in this recent experience they certainly seemed to drift away from authenticity.
ALWAYS the BEST IN CLASS dining experience 😍
Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I've been to Tamarind a number of times now as I love their food. This is probably the best Indian restaurant in Manhattan. Plus their service is impeccable.
The executive lunch is a great deal. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable .
Visito este restaurante siempre que voy a Nueva York.
La calidad es constante, comida deliciosa y servicio muy bueno, sobre todo porque recomiendan que y cuánto pedir, al no ser un menú muy sencillo.
It was a B-day dinner.
Food was delicious. Setting was really nice. Vinay as our server really made the evening. He was courteous, friendly, and great at advising what we should and shouldn’t order. He really helped make the evening as enjoyable as it was.
Family get together
Authentic Indian food in an upscale setting with nice ambience. Must visit Indian restaurant in NYC.
Tamarind consistently lives up to its reputation as one of the finest, if not the finest, fine-dining Indian restaurants in NYC. The menu is diverse enough that it is the perfect place for guests of mine who are not as familiar with Indian cuisine. On this visit I matched the Chicken Tikka Masala with the
Tandor Oven Prawns (Jhinga E Aatish)—-just amazing! The Tandor Lamb Chops are
also crazy-delicious. This is one very special place—great food and service n a glorious setting.
Quantity is way too low for the price. Regarding quality, I found a stone in the Chickpeas dish and the Restaurant didn’t even bother to apologize!! That should explain everything.....
Tamarind Tribeca never disappoints. It is without doubt THE best Indian restaurant in NYC.
Everything we ate was great! Definitely recommend.
We came back after several years. The food continues to be excellent for upscale Indian food. Miguel provided excellent service. Will definitely return.
The inside of this restaurant is super pretty with no aggressive music and beautiful decor. If you like Indian food (and even if you don’t!) the food is absolutely top notch. This is was my second time dining here and it would be hard to stay away upon my next visit to new yoek
The food was very bad
Very good Indian restaurant located down in Tribeca. Very large menu, and food was very good. With a round of drinks, it was $120/couple, including tax and tip, which is very reasonable for a quality NYC restaurant.
It's by far the best Indian restaurant we found in Manhattan
Some of our food was quite delicious, so I do not want to be overly critical of the kitchen. A lamb dish from the tandoor and a ground chicken dish were both excellent main course dishes. We found the appetizers overly large. One could easily be shared. This is also true of the main course dishes. I cannot fault the restaurant's generosity, and perhaps many people take home leftovers.
The service, while amiable and willing, was very slow with drinks and generally inconsistent. The decor is very nice, but the restaurant is so large that one can feel a bit lost.
Upscale, delicious Indian food in a beautiful setting.
Great food, excellent service, beautiful decor, couldn't have asked for more
Beautiful table by the window. Beautiful restaurant space. Extensive menu with a lovely daily specials menu. Probably the most interesting and delicious Indian food we’ve ever enjoyed!
The best and classiest Indian in NYC. The owner is the best.
Very nice restaurant. Our waiter ( sorry I did not catch the name) was really polite nice young man. Very impressive. Thank you for hiring such nice people. And food is just in another level. Highly recommended.
We are frequent visitors here, and this time we had Naan-E-Tamarind, Chicken Tikka Masala and Okra Stew. It was a perfect amount for two people and perfect choice: naan’s sweet filling complements both dishes.
Wonderful service and fantastic food. Very upscale without the snobby attitudes. Quiet for a relaxing meal with friends. I will definitely be back
Great food, great service, great price! Will definitely be back.
Amazing as always
