The steakhouse is a local favorite attached to the tamarack casino..food is always great and the wine list is excellent
Intimate steakhouse in a little casino. Friendly, professional staff. Classic table side preparation for some menu items. Mika was engaging and friendly. She took very good care of us. The escargot was delicious. Prepared with lots of butter and garlic. Table side Caesar was delicious and large portioned. Chilean sea bass was great. Served with lobster, asparagus, mashed potatoes and a hollandaise sauce. Excellent experience overall.
The food was fantastic. Steak was cooked perfectly. Service was excellent. A little pricey, but it was sooooo good. Definitely going back.
The service was premier. The food portions were good - the selection of steaks offered were from 6 oz to 22 oz . I had planned on the rib-eye 22 oz because I wanted the larger portion size - but instead had the special a 15 oz rib eye with something, something and something - I completely missed whatever accompanied it - leading me to believe it was a very small amount. Regardless the rest of the accompaniments were well portioned and tasty . I was impressed with menu and the specials and because it was a celebration I enjoyed a handcrafted libation - ginger sour. The dining area had booths and tables. The booths had high enough backs to make it seem very private. My dinner partner is hearing impaired and usually difficult to converse with in a restaurant, we were in a booth and had no trouble - a table might have been different. All in all the service was outstanding (Michael), the steak was perfectly cooked, and the setting was great for dad and daughter to celebrate a birthday.
Birthday for my wife
My date had prime rib and he always raves about it. No need for a menu, he knows what he likes. I had the sea bass and it is always prepared to perfection. By the way, the cranberry rolls are back and they are always scrumptious.
The Tamarack Steak House has become one of our favorites. The food and service is consistently excellent. Everything perfectly prepared. Our favorite appetizer is their Crab and Lobster Napoleon, crab and lobster meat stacked with Avocado, finished with micro greens and a light, sweet chili sauce... YUM!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. I have difficulty hearing in noisy restaurants and this one is perfect for me. Also, the food is awesome. The staff is friendly and they make you feel that they really care. The head chef is also a great person. Really enjoy this restaurant!
We go here for the steak Diane, (cooked tableside). They’re located in a small casino, so you’re not walking miles to get to the restaurant.
Loved it. We always love it. The food, drinks, and service is the best in town and it’s not close.
The food, wine and service was fantastic. My wife and I will continue to make this restaurant as one of our top dining out spots.
The food was excellent as usual and the server David was very attentive..drinks were excellent and it was great night
Took a friend to the Tamarack Steak House, her first time, and she was very impressed. The food, service and ambiance was excellent. Our orders for special cocktails were easily met and the wine list complimented out dinners wonderfully. Altogether a memorable dinner!
Awesome service from our server Mika!!!!
The food was fresh and delicious.
I had the chicken with linguine. Great flavors
My Mom had the jumbo prawns with linguine in white wine sauce. Smelled and looked delicious. She enjoyed her dinner.
The bread is made in house. Very fresh and delicious.
Beautiful restaurant without the “stuck up” feeling.
The overall experience is outstanding. We have eaten here several times and always enjoyed the food and wait staff. The only concern we have is that the Maitre d ‘ always seems to have an attitude. He opens wine and it seems as though he is put off by this service. Other than that we love spending anevening at the Steakhouse and have taken friends there as well
Where do I start the entire dinner was great. Our welcoming hostess, Myter who created a wonderful ceasar salad for 2 asked many questions to prepare to guests taste. Anichove or not and how much. Michael , the assist.manager , table side prepared our Steak Diane's and dessert
of Cherries Jubeille. Our waiter Cadone was great and gave very good service.
This is one of the Top 3 steakhouse I dinned in my life. All the waiters and the cook were very polite and helpful.
My dinner was exceptional! The restaurant was quiet, the service was great and I look forward to the next time. Sally
Service and food excellent!!!! This was for my mothers birthday. Very special for her.
Paul, our server was very good & attentive to our needs. The food was excellent & served in a timely fashion. We plan to return at our earliest opportunity.
Love everything except walking through smoke filled casino though it was a short walk I still smell smoke in my clothes and hair.
My fillet was dry and beans were undercooked. Salad was delicious. I was disappointed with the steak but I might try again. Service and ambience were excellent.
Food wonderful. Big group in room so a little loud. Wished they would have slowed down the meal. Didn’t ask if we wanted after dinner drinks or desert
Came here for the first time for new years eve 2017. It had been recommended by friends. We were treated like kings and the service was great. My wife had the escargot and said it was the best she had ever had. I don't eat that so I have the jumbo prawns. There are 4 huge prawns with cocktail sauce. Big prawns are sometimes tough but there were just short of that and tasted very good. I had the mushroom soup which was great and my wife had a salad which she couldn't finish but was very good. My wife had the special which was scallops and they were magnificent. The cook was perfect with seared tops and bottoms and translucent inside with a good sauce. There were 4 scallops of which we had to bring 2 1/2 home which were good later. I had the regular cut prime rib that came with scalloped potatoes and string beans and mini carrots and also horseradish sauce. If this was the regular cut no one could handle to large cut because it was at least 1 1/4 inch thick and huge. Of course there was fat areas that I cut off. I ordered the medium cook. This chef must error on the rare side so if you want medium order well done. Most of it was tolerable and melted in your mouth. I was so full that I took over 1/2 of it home and it served for a few meals heated up to medium and it was fantastic. Could not have dessert because the portions are so large.
We will go back for sure.
This restaurant has some of the best service in town. I highly recommend their steaks, we’ve had several different cuts and they’re cooked to temperature perfectly every time.
I love this restaurant, all the people that work there are very friendly and professional. The atmosphere is perfect. I recommend them to all my friends
My son and I ordered the steak diane medium rare. The tableside cook/lady over cooked the steak because she was waiting for the plates with the scalloped potatoes and my husband's prime rib. The steaks were medium well with a touch of pink. Flavor was still good. The side vegetables came out a few minutes later as they were not ready, so the presentation of the meal was very poor! We ordered bananas fosters for dessert. Flavor was ok. Bananas should have been more ripe and the sauce more cooked/caramelized. Overall dinner was ok.
Entree was amazing but we were disappointed by the chilled creme brûlée.
Always enjoy the experience. Special entree of roast pork was tasty, but extremely fatty. Great soups, and fresh sides.
One of the very best in Reno. One of the best kept secrets. We will be back.
Great service and good was outstanding I suggest the prime rib
The fish and steak was excellent and the service was great for a smaller casino
Our first time in the Tamarack and first time at the steak house, it was excellent, we went to celebrate my birthday and we will return for another special occasion. The entire staff was friendly and helpful.
Traditional upscale steak house. Comfortable booths, great service, and ambiance.
My wife and I went to celebrate a great medical outcome. We’ve eaten at the Tamarack multiple times and this time included have always had attentive and professional service coupled with excellent food. We’ve never been disappointed in the steak - I prefer the New York and my wife the filet. This time we tried the crab cake appetizer. It was outstanding and perfect for sharing.
My only negative comment regards the wine list. I know it’s a Carano property but maybe supplement the Ferraro Carano wines with some solid $75 - $100 bottles from over the hill. There are a lot of very nice wines that can support this price point, but sadly none at the Tamarack. Consider bringing your own wine and pay the corkage fee.
That said, still an excellent evening and we’ll be back again.
Excellent dining experience.
This is one of our favorite places to dine in Reno. Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown with the best steak you'll find anywhere. The service is always outstanding. The wait staff always makes us feel special. The portions are generous...don't order too many of their amazing appetizers or you won't have room for your delicious steak! If you don't like steak, they have excellent chicken and seafood, too. Arrive early an enjoy a drink in their beautiful lounge with a water wall and fireplace. We love the Tamarack Steak House!
Service was great
Food was great
Price vs. Value - way overpriced!!!!
Excellent prime rib and shrimp scampi.
From the person seating us to the beverage server to the waitress and plate clearer the evening was perfect! This was my 15th time coming to dine.
I have never had a bad experience.
Great neighborhood restaurant to grab a nice meal. Food was great, steak cooked perfectly. Overall nice meal
