Tamarack Junction Steak House
Prepared tableside, scalloped potatoes, sauted vegetables
While available. Scalloped potatoes, sauted vegetables
This is our second visit to Tamarac Junction Steak House. The food was great, but the service was Spectacular! Our waiter, his helper, wine steward, hostess and bartender went above and beyond to provide an amazing dining experience!
Went there for moms birthday
The Steakhouse is one of our favorite "go to" places in Reno. Service is always outstanding and can highly recommend David . Food is of a very high quality and fairly reasonably priced. The Tahoe Blueberry ice cream is fantastic, but not always on the menu. Very nice atmosphere.
Great evening out for our anniversary! Good food and good service.
Their updated menu was fabulous; had the Ahi for appetizer and was almost dinner size; Chilean Sea Bass had mild Asian taste which was as good as any in Hawaii and their Dijon Mustard Crusted Lamb chops were exceptional too. Dave was our waiter again and is one of the best. PLUS Ferrari Carano Chardonnay bottle for $38! Glad we live close!
TJSH is an excellent Steakhouse. The environment is very comfortable and the waitpersons are very friendly and efficient. The food was well prepared and presented nicely. The special was Ahi Tuna and it was cooked perfectly and served with a delicious sauce. The Filet mignon was also cooked perfectly medium-rare. We live quite a distance away from this place but it was worth the trip!
Always great service and food. The Chilean sea bass was wonderfully spiced.
Always a good time. Staff is courteous and attentive. Steaks are cooked to perfection. They have a great house dressing - a lemon vinaigrette - lip smacking good. Chilean sea bass is one of my go-to meals.
We have lived here on Mt. Rose Hiway for 30 plus years and it was a pleasant surprise to find a steak house of such great quality in our neighborhood.
Great food, excellent wait staff, fabulous ambience. Just a fantastic experience.
Food was great as usual!
Tamarack Junction Steak House is (in our opinion) the best steakhouse in Reno, Nevada. The food is consistently excellent, service wonderful, and the atmosphere quiet. Reservations are necessary since they are always booked.
Excellent food and service
Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Reno Food was great. Service was great. Loved the 🍒 jubilee. Of course the coconut cake is to die for - they ran out!
The food is really good but I always get bad service every time. I've let it go before but my last experience really bothered me. Checking in for my reservation and their host can't find it. I told him I'll look for my e-mail confirmation but he keeps insisting I'm not in the list. It made me feel like I was lying about it. Unacceptable attitude but the lady apologized for him. I understand that it was Valentines but waiting for 2 hours is just ridiculous. Never did our server came over to tell us that the food is coming or sorry for the delay. We always come to Tamarack to gamble and most people know us already. Nice people on the floor and other restaurants but the treatment we get from the steak house is just horrible. This is the reason that I may dine in other steak house from now on.
Really good steakhouse but my New York wasn’t the best I’ve had. Martinis at $18 a pop is a little high but overall I like it. Service is great!
The food quality was excellent. Our server was outstanding. The ambiance was great. My only criticism is that the time it took from ordering to the time it took to receive our entrees was slower than expected. Overall, we were pleased and will frequent this establishment.
Andrew was a magnificent. He catered to every one of our needs. He very knowledgeable with the menu by answering any questions we had. Empty plates did not sit on our table long. The entire staff was courteous and professional. Even our cocktails were made to perfection. Overall a great experience, we will be coming back again soon.
Such a nice restaurant and good food. It was disappointing though. The service was extremely slow. We spent 3 hours there. Our order was incorrect. We ordered a steak special and got a different steak dish. I ordered a glass of wine with my dinner and throughout the night I was never offered another glass of wine.
I forgot about this gem of a restaurant and hadn’t been here for a couple years. I decided to book reservations for dinner for my husbands birthday. As I remembered, service was excellent as was the food. This is a great place for a quiet evening out. One of few places you can still hold a conversation and not have to raise your voice to communicate with someone across the table. Will be back to try your Social Hour soon.
I hope we just caught them on an off night. All our past experiences have been excellent but this time it came up short. The prices had increased, they changed the lamb dish and the rice with the shrimp was bad. We might try it again but it will be a while until I recommend them.
Nice to eat at such a fine place and not experience the smoke that one often does in casino restaurants. Relaxing atmosphere and great food.
My wife and I shared a ribeye steak. We are regular customers and on this trip the quality of the steak was poor. Hopefully, you will improve in your quality of your ribeye steak.
We also ordered a Caesar salad and the preparer put to much pepper in the salad and we could not finish what we were served.
The service and dinner was good
I thought the drinks were on the high side since I do not consider this a 5 star dining.
Unfortunately it was sad from the start to the end. We have been dining there since the place opened. Start off decent amount of people in restaurant but with only 2 (?) servers the service was SLOW. Reservation at 7pm, when we got to order and received our appetizers ( 30/40 minutes later the crab cake was burnt as in black on top and bottom. Then the fact the server actually brought it out when he should never have taken it out of the kitchen. Returned it for another not burnt one. Then the lobster bisque, both cups were barely warm. But an hour plus in we were hungry so we just ate them. They were out of prime rib before 7pm.. Then the three different steaks our party ordered they also came out luke warm - seems as though they have gone down so far in basically everything. Just very disappointed in the whole evening. Oh almost forgot the rolls, they came out after an hour and were just plain rolls, not the nice cheese and flavored they used to have. ( can you say hostess bagged ??). So yes, not an experience I'd like to repeat for quite awhile. And as stated above we have been going to the steakhouse since they opened.
Service was a little slow at times, but overall, everything was excellent, and we will return.
Menu is small and doesn't change. Prices are on the pricey side.
We eat here fairly often and have never been disappointed! Their steak Diane is my favorite and is always great. Service is friendly and welcoming.
La calidad de la carne decepcionante.
Ceasar salad, steak Diane and bananas foster prepared tableside was a great treat.
expensive for what we received. small portions.
average food. high prices.
Great food as always. Service is top notch and it’s a hidden gem among some larger casino steak houses
Most definitely. This is our 4th time having dinner here and we love it. We always bring guests here to impress them with such a superb dinner and experience.
We reserved for dinner and shared that we were celebrating my husband's 76th birthday. We've dined here many times in the 5 years we've lived in Reno. The food is almost always good although steaks sometimes are undercooked. The price point is good considering the sides and soup or salad are included in the price. The servers without fail are always attentive. The one issue we have every time is that the greeter (host or hostess) is never gracious. Instead of making you glad you chose their restaurant, they leave you wondering why you're spending your dining dollars there. They quickly look down to find your reservation with no word of greeting. This time we arrived 15 minutes early and that seemed to throw them. They said we were early and motioned to sit in the bar. Sitting in the bar was not an issue but something like, "We're so glad you chose our restaurant for your dinner this evening. Our servers are busy now. Would you mind sitting in the bar for just a few minutes and then we'll get you seated as quickly as possible." There was never any mention of the birthday celebration until we were leaving and then the hostess ran out to say, "You had a birthday, didn't you?" We ran a business before retirement. First impressions are so important. It's such a small thing to be gracious, takes so little effort but goes such a long way.
Everything about Tamarack Junction Steak House is very good! The food, the overall service, attention to detail is very good. Not perfect but very good! The person making the table side Caesar salad was a 100% pro - it can out great! The steaks for our table were each prepared exactly as ordered too. We tried a few desserts and truly the best one is the chocolate lava cake! They have a decent wine menu with some excellent choices at fairly reasonable prices. My only recommendation is to teach the wait staff to pour and refill the wine glasses. Never did it once and when you spend $170 on a bottle, you would kind of expect the wine glasses to be refilled. Otherwise, a nice fairly quiet steak house with good food and good service!
Christmas dinner. The prices have increased. The portion was smaller. The Grey Goose martini was $17.00!!! That is OUTRAGEOUS!!!
Tamarack Junction is a hidden gem in Reno’s food culture. We always have a great steak house meal, excellent service in a conducive environment. The table side Caesar is a must.
The host was consierge was quite rude about our reservation, however after we set him straight the season gentleman backed down!
Another excellent dining experience!!!
