The restaurant is undergoing remodeling and the bathrooms are now located outside of the building. On a cold windy night, it was not pleasant to trek outside. The valet said that they hoped the remodeling would be done by St. Patrick's day. I hope so too.
We attended an afternoon concert in Pasadena and decided to eat at Tam O'Shanter afterwards based on the dineLA menu--four courses, including prime rib with all the trimmings, for $49. We were not disappointed. Everyone really enjoyed the food and had a great time. Our servers were pleasant, attentive, and efficient.
The Tam O'Shanter is a Los Angeles landmark. Delicious food, excellent service and a great atmosphere. Won the last of the old Los Angeles restaurants. The food never disappoints. Love this place and have are here many times and looking forward to many more visits. I rate this a 10+ restaurant
Excellent all the way around. No crowds, excellent food and over-the-top service. Great for a special night out..without the kids. Just sayin'.
The best part about this restaurant is the history and ambiance.
We were here for dine LA and we're shocked to find their bathrooms were port-a-potties. They were doing construction. It was disappointing and not a good impression for 2 of our friends who were dining at Tam for the very first time. The baked potato soup was not very good, but the prime rib was delicious as expected.
Always a treat to dine here. I feel like I'm dining at the local inn in a small village in England.
Just happened to have dinner during Dine LA - what luck. Great food and wonderful value. So glad this wonderful restaurant is minutes from our home!
We went to Tam O'Shanter for the winter DineLA menu. The facility is currently being renovated to restore the outdoor patio dining that was originally on site. The only inconvenience is the restrooms are outside. However, the portable restrooms are very nice so there isn't any issues with the restroom service.
We had the dineLA menu and added Deviled eggs to our starters. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. We choose the prime rib and it was up to the Lawry standards. The sides of cream spinach and Yorkshire pudding were also very good. Our desserts were exquisite and decadent. I would recommend that everyone try the dineLA dinner menu since it is such a great deal and a great way to introduce yourself to this long-time LA gem.
Fun place to experience Hollywood history. The food is fine but not great. Go for the experience.
Delighting diners for over eight decades, the Tam O'Shanter is Los Angeles' oldest restaurant operated by the same family in the same location. Enjoy fine food and old world atmosphere of this cozy Tudor inn.View Private Dining Details
