All out perfect. From the waitress to the host.... the service! The taste of the food.... the understandings of the menu on the staff part was great!!! Thank you for a delicious meal and a wonderful night out! I am here visiting from buffalo ny and I would travel here just to eat at this place!
Brunch - a good menu but my mushroom omelette was disappointing - way too much egg and rubbery. However the fruit salad was very nice and my partner's crab eggs benedict was definitely better executed. Service very good. Very noisy.
Great food and service
Service was attentive and we were not rushed at all even when more diners were waiting for tables. Food was amazing with unique choices. Cauliflower Pear soup was fantastic.
FABULOUS! My husband took me here for my birthday. The staff was super attentive and the food was outstanding. I HIGHLY recommend! They had various cheese course options, hand-crafted cocktails and a menu that was innovative.
Food and service was excellent. Some prices were a bit too much in my opinion. The pasta portions could have been a bit larger as well. Would go back though
We went for a special occasion, but we will definitely return for a great dining experience— period. The only criticism is the noise level. We happened to be sitting next to a loud group of diners — 8 & given the already loud acoustics it was difficult to hear one another. That critism aside, we couldn’t have asked for all around great food & excellent service.
This restaurant is very noisy and very dark. Impossible to read the menu. Luckily, I had looked at it online before leaving my house. Also, impossible to see what you eat, since it’s so dark. Quite disturbing. Finally, impossible to check your bill, since it’s so dark. Very disturbing. Disappointed!!
Great place to go for a date or business dinner. Tasty New American cuisine. I had the salmon with brussel sprouts. We shared one of the signature cheese plates, salad the mushroom appetizer. Friendly service, pleasant atmosphere, very good drinks. Highly recommended.
I live near this restaurant eat here frequently -wonderful food have never had bad experience.
food was fantastic. drinks not cheap, but great selection . these plates small but fabulous. for ref. cheese plate, two entrees, four drinks (two beers) bill was 130 before tip
The food at Talulah's Garden was delicious. I had the chicken with sweet potatoes and persimmons. My partner had the lobster ravioli. Both were tasty. The staff was a little too attentive - they kept removing plates, cups, etc. while we were in the middle of eating. It made me feel that they were rushing us out. But overall, the dinner was delicious and we had a lovely evening.
We have been here several times and it never disappoints!
On a cold evening, after seeing the sights around City Hall, it was delightful to be greeted and welcomed into Tulula’s! The cheese tray was exceptional, as was the salmon entree and scallops entree. We had a magnificent time and are eager to return!
Loved! Make sure to order a cheese plate.
The food was outstanding! Everything we tried was like a party in our mouths. Such marvelous mixtures o flavors.
Outstanding in all respects from the starter rolls to the killer entrees. Service impeccable. Beautiful interior.
From the moment we walked in until trying to finish my amazing dessert, our night was perfect. The service was outstanding and we had one of our best dinners out. We are looking forward to going back hungry to try something different!
Talula's Garden has been on my bucket list for quite some time and it lived up to every expectation! Imaginative use of quality organic ingredients, locally sourced and seasonal. We loved every bite! One of our best Philly dining experiences, ever.
My date and I had a tremendous time at Talula's. We weren't rushed at all and the service was phenomenal. The space have such a beautiful layout with tall ceilings and plants everywhere to really hold true to their Garden theme. My favorite part of the restaurant was the full panel windows that let light into the bar area.
The food was delicious. We got the chai spiced doughnuts, and decided on going with smaller dishes for brunch including the pigs in a blanket, the grits, brussel sprouts and a side of toast. This was all surprisingly filling, and topped perfectly by the French pressed coffee. The corn grits were super creamy and really tasty. The pigs in the blanket where the perfect ratio to filling versus pastry. The brussel sprouts with apple was a surprising delight and worked so well together.
Looking at the tables around us, more individuals went for the more traditional brunch entrees, but being that I'm more of an appetizer type of person, the smaller plates were perfect.I would definitely come back to try some of those entrees because they looked so delicious.
Never disappointed! Beautiful restaurant, fresh delicious food, gracious and knowledgeable service
The tiramisu was the best I've had in the US, comparable to Italy. Brunch was delicious, presentation was great and staff was super friendly!! Highly recommended!!
Great Sunday Brunch menu. Attentive staff. Food well presented.
EXCEPTIONAL!!! I would definitely be back!!
I cannot compliment the manager Brian enough on his attentiveness and hospitality. We were asked to move tables so a larger party could be seated where we were. It was not an inconvenience to us, but Brian made sure we were taken care of and completely satisfied with our experience. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful service- courses were timed perfectly with no overlap and no rush, but as soon as we finished another was brought out. Staff was attentive and the food was delicious, as were the cocktails!
Gorgeous- ambience, food, service. My go to restaurant in Philly for life’s special occasions.
We enjoyed our meal at Talula's Garden where we celebrated my birthday. At first I was annoyed when they seated us in the bar area instead of the dining room without even asking. However the bar area ended up being very pleasant even though it was packed with people waiting for tables making it extremely difficult for the server handling the bar area diners. We had a nice seat looking out on to Washington Square. It seemed less noisy than the dining room which is somewhat incredible given how crowded it was. If the crowd in the bar had been boisterous it would have been a drag.
Food was great. Excellent soup and mushroom toast appetizers. The mushrooms were very fresh and tasty. Duck breast was phenomenal. Delicious and very very tender. Beef was cooked perfectly and very good. Shared the apple/cranberry crisp desert which was almost too sweet but good.
Wine was way over priced for what it was. Before dinner drinks were great but again overly pricey. We would return but not frequently. There are too many good places in town to choose from. Prefer the byobs where you do not get gouged on wine prices.
Amazing meal and overall experience. We will definitely be back soon!
We were at Talula's for dinner pre event. The food was outstanding (scallops were amazing) and service was fantastic (thank you Connor)! Will be back again and again. Don't miss Talula's!
Shared excellent pear so tender and cooked perfectly. Most of the other entrees did not appeal; not much fish. Opted for fried oysters over slaw appetizer for the main. Also, I am a desert foodie and particularly love real pastry. None of the deserts appealed so got the berry crumble with ice-cream which was good, but not exciting. Quality of food excellent as was the service, so probably will return. However, the prices did give pause.
The service was good and food was tasty but everything was way too salty. Even the bread had lots of salt!
Absolute favorite restaurant in Philadelphia! Food is incredible, ambiance is enchanting, service is magical.
Every detail was spot on - from the gratis fresh brioche to the side fall vegetables to the delectable tiramisu. The ambiance was lovely - the restaurant is split up in a manner that makes the diners feel their space is intimate. I particularly loved the scallops and pork tenderloin our table ordered. Our second visit and look forward to the next occasion to dine there again!
I really loved everything, but the soup and stew weren’t warm enough.
This Stephen Starr restaurant dazzles!
Straight farm to table life. Great service. Danielle (server) was amazing. Most Starr restaurants are $$ or more. So be prepared to spend. Realistically, a date will cost you well over $120. And that may or may not include gratuity. Washington Sq. is insanely intimate, scenic and even romantic. I’ve been to Talula’s Garden on more than one occasion and this place always satisfies. Awesome coat check, too. And the garden is spectacular during the hospitable months of the year. Ahem, spring/summer.
Recently took my wife there for her birthday. She loved it. Try the mushroom toast as an app - you won’t be disappointed. It’s perfect for sharing. ;-) This is the ideal place for foodies, the professional chic...a kind of middle class joy, with elements of “hipster meets sophisticated city.” Reminds me of Ace Hotel if you get my drift - with a Stephen Starr twist.
What can I say? I’ll definitely dine here again. Oh, and by the way, the seating is “intimate.” If you have issues with being close to others - maybe you should visit before you book a reservation. I’ve lost a few pounds in the past few months so the mild tightness of the tables in proximity to other tables was just right for me. Either way, you’ll love this restaurant.
Went here for our wedding anniversary. Service was exceptional and the food & drinks were great! Would definitely recommend for a nice Sunday Brunch.
Great food and ambiance
Our first visit to Talula's Garden for our anniversary dinner did not disappoint! The food was all delicious, and the service was excellent. Such a wonderful experience!
