Great food and even better service! Menu definitely highlighted the best of the season and each dish was beautifully presented. Our server was thoughtful, knowledgeable and a true professional. Suggested an off menu wine as a pairing with entrees and she didn’t steer us wrong! Thank you!
I celebrated my wife’s 50th birthday with friends at Talula’s Garden and it did not disappoint. Superb food, friendly wait staff in a warm, inviting space. My only complaint was that it was a bit loud, but this was a minor inconvenience. Overall, we had a great night and I highly recommend the restaurant.
Out of this world. One of the best dining experiences I've had.
The food was beyond fabulous. However, there was one disappointment- when another couple met us for a drink first and we sat outside, at least four servers came over to say we couldn’t sit in the bar area without ordering food. We arrived at 5:05 for a drink before a 5:30 reservation. We had done this once before and did not understand the issue. There were apologies all around, but being treated almost like we were criminals was not pleasant.
Always amazing. You just cannot beat the ambience. And the food and service are consistently perfect. ❤️🙏🏼
Vacation in Philadelphia. The best restaurant we dined with.
Good food and great service. The cocktail list was fun and unique without being too crazy. Seems a tad on the expensive side for what you get off the menu.
Love the decor and architecture of the inside - including the cute bar. The outdoor garden is magical!!! Even though we sat inside because it was too humid out for the outdoor garden, we had a great table in the back near the window so we had a lot of natural light. The menu is not overwhelmingly large - but each thing was thought out and executed to perfection. We got the pesto ravioli and escarole as an appetizer - delicious - I will definitely be craving that ravioli! Then I got the chicken and biscuit, amazing. The donuts and olive oil cake with homemade whipped cream were a perfect end to the dinner.
Thought that the food was overpriced and the drinks were too pricey .ambience and service was great
My wife and I went for brunch on Father’s Day. The building and layout have a small homey feel while mixing in modern architecture. Our server was fantastic, answering all of our questions and guiding us through the well balanced farm fresh brunch menu. We started with a drink and choose “The Dude”, which is a mix of Kahlua, Vodka and Cold Brew, and it was delicious. My wife enjoyed an odd mix of fresh carrot and orange juices which was surprisingly good. Although we would have loved to try one of the 7 starting dishes or Beginnings as they are on the menu, we didn’t want to over indulge. So we moved straight to the Brunch portion of the menu. It took some serious deliberation, but we finally decided. My wife chose the Old Fashioned Griddles Pancakes, with fresh raspberries, lemon curd, elderflower and whipped cream. I chose the Local Mushroom and Farm Egg Omelet, with Kennett Square Mushrooms, truffle butter, French Brie, crispy potatoes and greens. Also I’m a huge scrapple guy, and had to order a side their Crispy Black Pepper Scrapple. Food came out relatively fast as the restaurant was fairly busy. The pancakes were the fluffiest pancakes I have every eaten. The raspberries were fresh and mixed well with the lemon curd and elderflower, my wife was more than happy. The omelet was very creamy yet stood firm, the mix of the French Brie with the mushrooms was delicious. The greens were fresh and the dressing was just enough to not overpower the meal. The potatoes rounded out the dish and were well seasoned and crispy as stated. The black pepper scrapple was excellent and very flavorful. The portions of both dishes were very generous, and we made the right decision on not ordering a beginning. Although we weren’t overstuffed we were satisfied after eating. All in all I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great brunch meal. We plan on coming back for the dinner service at some point and hope to be able to come back for brunch again excellent experience
Second time for brunch here - it was great again. Food, ambiance, service were perfect.
My wife and I had one of the best meals of our lives here. In particular the cheese plate we ordered was outstanding. We highly and enthusiastically recommend Talula's Garden to anyone.
Great wine reccomendation! Top notch ambiance. We will certainly be back soon.
Great food served from the Chef's tasting menu. Excellent service. Only compliant is how dark the restaurant gets at night. Nearly every table, including ours, needed the light on our phone to read the menu.
First time in our lives that the tasting menu was denied to us because the chef wasn’t willing to accommodate one ingredient in one of 8 (!!) courses... (which from the sound of it was a simple fix) wow ... I say stay at a chain kitchen. After London the value is good but actually cooking is very mediocre - pork belly was mostly fat and Grill crust -buckwheat pancake was not really buckwheat ... unless you have never been to Bretagne, some creativity but no sophistication - yes cool design etc ... but we go for food
Worth the wait.
The cheeses were outstanding and the main course was delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter Conner was the perfect blend of friendly and efficient. All and all, a perfect pre-theatre experience.
This place is great. Fabulous food, friendly, informative and attentive service. Wonderful outdoor dining. I enjoyed this restaurant immensely and am looking forward to returning soon!
Our second visit to the Garden, absolutely fabulous food, service and ambience in the Garden.
First time here as we were just visiting. Everything was delicious and the garden was beautiful. Definitely go again next time in town.
Peter was our excellent server. Very attentive. Food preparation was excellent as always.
Loved the outdoor seating! Food was very good and creative, but not quite worth the price. Twice (when making reservation and then a reminder call day of reservation) I asked them to put a birthday candle in our daughter's dessert. But they clearly had forgotten, finally bringing out a dessert sample with a candle after we had paid the bill but hadn't left yet.
Our first time dining here and everything was incredible. We will be back soon to try the rest of the menu!
Enjoyed the food the outdoor seating and the service was great! I had the salmon and the food had a fresh taste. The ice cream had a very fresh delicious spin on mint chocolate chip and it was delicious.
We chose the chef tasting and it was fantastic. Loved the comp cuvée it was great and every course was right up our alley. Was pretty filling. Had to take home the last three courses. Ha ha Well worth it
Wonderful menu, food and service. Imaginative menu. Very personal service. Terrific.
A local friend suggested my business colleague and I try Talula’s Garden after a visit to the nearby Liberty Bell. Wow! What a treat—we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
After the oyster appetizer, he had the salmon. I had the garden salad—in June, this included shaved rhubarb and asparagus—and then I had the steak and egg dish. We both couldn’t stop raving about the food.
We arrived early (5:30) and by 6:00 the place was really getting busy. We never felt crowded and the noise level was reasonable.
Our waiter Elijah was a gem. He helped us choose from the many delicious sounding options and seemed genuinely interested in making our evening enjoyable.
The 8 course Chef’s Tasting Menu was well worth the $100 price tag. The best touch was the surprise, complimentary glass of delicious Napa bubbly presented at the start of our meal!
Incredible food, phenomenal wait staff, beautiful atmosphere. One of our favorite Philly restaurants!!
We had a wonderful dinner once again at Talula’s Garden. Our server was so gracious and attentive. We were seated close to the bar when we arrived but the noise level was high as it was happy hours still. We asked to move and were accommodated immediately with a much quieter table. The food as always was excellent especially my appetizer of crudo salmon on a bed of fresh radish and greens with a beautifully fresh lemon dressing. We look forward to returning soon hopefully!
Very nice place and really good food. A little too expensive though.
The only negative note was that we were for a birthday dinner, which we indicated in writing in our reservation and reiterated to waiter before ordering dessert. It would have been nice to see them bring out a candle for the celebration, as we felt this was a minimum expectation to have.
More awareness given the type of restaurant and overall bill would have been appreciated.
Other than that, it was a good experience
Cheese plate was marvelous, good choices of wine by the glass, service was attentive, and knowing that a birthday was being celebrated, when dessert was ordered, it came with Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate.
Wonderful restaurant with great cuisine, ambiance and friendly staff.
Had a great time. The seasonal heirloom tomato soup was great. Portions are perfect. Not overwhelming. Asked for a customization of a meal which they accommodated easily and executed perfectly.
We celebrated birthdays and the staff was excellent. Very thoughtful and knowledgeable about the menu. Everything we had was excellent and skillfully prepared.
We had brunch to celebrate our anniversary. The food was delicious, with ample portions, and the service was good. It is a bit pricey, particularly with cocktail, but the quality of food was very good. We shared a cheese plate and the lox platter, and had several sides, including the spinach and cheese croissants, potatoes, and grits. We also shared the donuts, which were amazing. Next time, I will order less and get an order of donuts just for myself.
Great food and ambiance !! i can't recommend this place enough!!
