Wow. What an amazing dining experience. The chef is not afraid of flavor. The butternut squash soup was so complex in flavors. The bread with truffle butter exploded with full flavors in my mouth. The mushroom Risotto was cooked perfectly and the flavors were rich and the dish had depth. The creme brulee was equally as good as the rest of the meal and the cardamom cookies with it were out of this world alone. I will be back!
Fabulous place for a special occasion, or to make any meal special really. The staff there are so wonderful and considerate. The food is amazing. I recently took my partner there for his birthday. We ordered far more food than we should have, but it was so worth it. Each item was better than the previous.
Excellent in all dimensions.
We love eating at Tulula’s! Try the tuna poke bowl.
Our favorite restaurant, by far!
The brunch menu had great choices. I usually eat dinner here, but had brunch and was very satisfied with the food. Definitely having brunch there again soon.
We totally enjoyed our Brunch experience!! The service and food we exceptional!!
Fantastic as always.
Such amazing service! They gave wonderful recommendations and paid particular attention to our friend who had a gluten allergy. This is my second time and I would definitely go again!
Fantastic food, atmosphere, and portion sizes! One of our new favorite restaurants in Philly. Highly recommend!
Terrific ambiance. Great food selections and flavors. Exceptional service, with a great team effort, including the GM. The host / hostesses are a bit stiff, could do a better job in greeting guests. Other than that, an excellent experience.
The food was fabulous - we had a cheeseboard, short rib, duck, crispy brussel sprouts, and broccoli sides. Peter was a fantastic server who was quick and attentive.
Next time, I plan to request a table that is not by the bar. We were in the corner and guests were cramming into that corner while waiting at the bar which was uncomfortable.
Th food was outstanding and the service was quick - a little too quick actually in that I felt very rushed in my meal and would have liked some more time to sit and enjoy.
Excellent meal and service. Tables are very close together.
What a delight to discover Talula's Garden in historic Philadelphia! I live not far from Talula's Table in Kennett Square, PA, so had an idea of what to expect. I was not disappointed; indeed I was delighted by the ambiance, the attentive service, and, most of all by the excellent food. I will return!
I was disappointed in the food relative to the price
I believe that your appetizers such as the pizza and entrées are well overpriced
I am a repeat customer. Go a few times each year along with my subscription to Walnut Street Theater. I walked in with my 83 yo mother for our 5:45 pm reservation. It was a Wednesday night. The restaurant was almost empty...a table or two in each room. Except for the bar which had the most people and noise. We were taken through the dining room and seated at the furthermost table in the bar, next to the kitchen door and up against a wall. We could not hear. Our dinner was delicious and the waitstaff was good. Not the exceptional service we have come to expect. The restaurant was so slow the busboy tried to take my plate at least five times before I was finished. Eventually the rooms filled up but there was no reason to put us at the “time out” table.
Tasting menu was special and wonderful. Alfredo will own his own restaurant one day, terrific server- terrific experience
Great service. Food was somewhat overpriced, but very good.
Although it was busy our table was ready within a minute of our arrivsl
My favorite Philly restaurant!
We always choose Talula’s for our date nights. Have for many years. Never had a bad meal there! Is it expensive? Sure! Is it worth it? Absolutely! They must have had some layover guests from Valentines Weekend because it was a full-house Monday. Our server seemed a little overwhelmed, but still good. Can’t wait till next date night.
Had tasting menu. All was delicious...service impeccable! Loved the thoughtful champagne and blood orange drink ...(noticing my husband doesn’t drink) and his happy birthday candle with last course at the end! Definitely be back!
It was so hard to choose what to order. Everything on the menu sounded both fresh and delicious. Service was top notch from the hostess to the server, and even management. They comped our appetizer for a delay that we didn’t even notice ourselves. I wish I lived closer because we would be regulars.
Always delightful! Superior food, wonderful waiter, and lovely ambience. Unfortunately, I personally did not like our table, situated by a huge wall near the bar. No one else seemed to be bothered by it. All in all, everyone (including me) raved about the entire experience. One of the tastiest dinners I have ever had with ample portions and beautiful presentations! Can't wait to go back!
Loved brunch , everything was delicious and great service!
This was the fifth time I’ve been to Talula’s and this was the first time I have been disappointed with the food. We went for brunch on Valentines weekend, it was very crowded but we got a decent table where we didn’t feel crowded and our waitress was very attentive. We started with the cheese plate, this was the only part of the meal we were happy with. Our entrees were brought out while we were still enjoying our cheese plate which made us feel a little rushed but it wasn’t that big of a deal. For our entrees, I got the pancakes and my boyfriend got the chicken and waffles. Both meals were covered in sauce/syrup and were overly sweet. I was only able to eat a quarter of the pancakes and my boyfriend was only able to eat his meal after he removed all of the breading on the chicken and the sauce. The coffee cocktail I ordered was also way too sweet and the only way we were able to drink it was to gradually add it to a normal cup of coffee. I realize that sweetness level is a personal preference but we agreed that both our meals were very hard to eat and weren’t worth the price tag.
Beautiful place, however, my guest and I were greeted rudely and told to wait at the bar (where there was no seating) for a table that would open up in "5 minutes". Diners that arrived subsequent to our request for a table were seated immediately. 30 minutes later, I went back to the front to ask a hostess if a table had opened up -- I was met with a poor attitude and instruction to go back to standing next to a crowded bar. I then asked how would they find us in the crowd of people and again, I was given attitude and told that I would be "found" by someone, which didn't happen until we decided to leave 45 minutes after standing by the bar. I won't be spending my money on attitude and poor customer service. Also, widen your marketing demographics and next time, it might not look so bad when two of the four people of color in the restaurant are disregarded and treated poorly.
Second time here, 100% lived up to the memory. Definitely recommend the 'Local Breakfast' and the Lemon Poppy Pancakes. French Toast bites for the start were really good but next time I'm going for the cheese plate. The noise in the restaurant was actually moderate not energetic but we had a screaming child at the table next to us. Parents did what they could but ya know...
Stunning atmosphere and amazing food. Portions were huge and the quality was outstanding. Perfect brunch spot and can't wait to go back again!
The food here is delicious! Ingredients are paired together perfectly for each dish and plated beautifully. The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly and attentive. We were
offered complimentary tastes of cheese and dessert plates. We will be back when the menu changes!
I came for Valentine's Day and we had the 8-course tasting menu. Amazing menu choice with great food, great pacing in between plates, beautiful atmosphere, and amazing staff! One of my favorite places in Philly. Highly recommend!
I recently took some out of town guests to Talula's Garden for dinner on a Saturday night. I chose Talula's because I knew it would be a memorable night... and it was. Our server, Ariel, was perfect - friendly, accommodating and, most importantly and impressively, very knowledgeable. She gave great recommendations - starting with the World Travel Cheese Plate... which we also now recommend. In addition to the excellent cheeses, there were candied almond slices, spiced pepitos, wine-soaked raisins, marmalade & honey, house-made bread and crackers - all delicious. For the entrees, we shared the Ricotta Ravioli with toasted hazelnuts, the Seared Scallops with kohlrabi & charred leeks and the Shrimp Tagliatelle with house-made saffron pasta & a sherry-scented herb sauce. Each entree was better than the next... with the Shrimp Tagliatelle being my personal favorite. For dessert (yes, after all that we had dessert) we shared the pear sorbet which was exactly that - and perfectly so - and the creme brulee which is one of my favorite desserts - and now Talula's is one of my favorite places to have it - crackled top, creamy middle perfumed with vanilla... so, so good. We also had a few beers and a cocktail or two (Honeysuckle Gimlet - yum!) which like the rest of our meal was executed perfectly. I can't recommend Talula's Garden highly enough - service, food and atmosphere are all A+.
Everything is delicious! The soy ginger broccoli with chicken and dumplings is a must try! The sea bass and couscous is not worth it. The cocktails can be skipped as well. My drink was gin with honeysuckle and rose however it just tasted like straight up gin. Brownie is too bitter for my taste but everything else is great! Service is attentive. Tables are ver close together though.
Great experience! Our waitress Kristina was great. Gave us the best service. The manager Collin was great as well. The food was great as well as the ambiance.
Out of this world food and service. Will be back again soon.
Valentines evening was great at Talula’s Garden. After waiting about 30 minutes to be seated (even with a reservation) they gave us complimentary champagne and provided impeccable service from there on out.
The food? Unbelievable. 10/10.
A great evening! Even if it was packed. It was Valentines Day after all!
Very crowded, although an expectedly busy night. Tables were so close that you could hear every word of the conversations around you.
Steady and strong, Philadelphia’s finest.
Long wait till table was ready-30 min.
