2nd time there. Outstanding again. Innovative menu. Excellent service. Great vibe on the patio.
This restaurant is wonderful in every way – the food is super innovative and delicious. Cheese boards are a real treat - so many excellent ones to choose from. Unlike many trendy restaurants where the dishes are just a big mash up of flavors and you really can’t sort through them, talula’s is superior on flavors because you can sort and taste every flavor and everything is perfectly cooked to perfection. Wow!!!!!
A wonderful relaxing meal with many surprising menu options! Please go....
What a perfect ending to a weekend in Philly! We chose to dine outside which allowed for a quieter experience. Choice of background music could have been better but the food, the cocktails, the ambiance were all outstanding. Loved the eclectic look of the table setting, the brick walls, the patio lighting. We will definitely be back.
My friends visiting from Brooklyn requested I make reservations here for a second time. The first time was outdoors and the ambience is terrific. The food has all been good. I especially like the local ingredients on the menu. Healthy, good portions, attentive staff and great atmosphere in or out. I have recommended Talula's Garden to my friends and I expect to visit again.
Food is excellent, we love the atmosphere... we had hoped to bring our family for my daughters last home town meal before heading to college but we could only book for 4 people through the app. We called the restaurant directly 5 times trying to expand our table to 7 people so that all of our children could attend, the manager said they were completely booked and if anyone cancelled they would call us... which we never heard back so 3 of our children stayed at home, but yet tonight the restaurant was only half full...Not sure why they turned away business?
One of my favorites. Came here with hopes to dine in the lovely garden but it was a very rainy evening.
Nonetheless we had great service and a lovely meal. Had a delicious Sicilian rose and my husband and I shared two small vegie dishes and a cheese plate donwe would have room for dessert. The small dishes for us are not small and good to share. The cheese plate had great cheeses but I thought overpriced for the size of the cheese they give. My only complaint. We shared the peach tart and it was divine. Will be back soon to dine in the yard before it gets too cold.
It was great
I took my wife and daughter to Talula's garden for my wifes birthday. We had the 10 course small plate meal matched with the winde pairing and both were sublime. We aall agreed that it was ome of fines restaurant experiences that we ever had
From start to finish you all hit it out of the park. You made my wife’s birthday very special.
Good restaurant, nice outdoor seating . Delightful cheese platters.
We sat in the garden, which was lovely. A little bit of street noise, but that is to be expected. Interesting menu with several vegetarian options. Waiter was a little pretentious, bordering on obnoxious, but this was not the case in previous visits. Will definitely return.
The food was good. Was disappointed that you couldn't take our gift card for Talula in Kennett Sq.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner! We will definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends!
Excellent food, excellent service, in a romantic, fun atmosphere. The food was absolutely amazing!!
Excellent food and service. A delightful way to spend an evening with a good friend.
Never again. It started badly and went downhill from there. We arrived promptly for our Tuesday, 5:30 reservation to an Empty restaurant. We were directed to sit at the bar until our table was ready. Huh? Twenty minutes later, feeling forgotten, I inquired about the delay. Finally seated, we were greeted by a supercilious, curt, robotic waitress who was clearly not going to make our meal pleasurable. The cheese plate was nice. Downhill from there. My companion's risotto was really a risotto mac and cheese, problem being that the cheesy part was not cited on the menu. My overpriced striped bass, while tasty, was submerged in a messy soup, but the menu stated "sauce." This 'lake' made cutting and eating difficult. We should have sent both entrees back.
We didn't like the cucumber/edamame side dish either, which was mostly long cucumber slices.
The snooty waitress would wisk by, saying, "Let me know if you have any questions," and race off so rapidly that it was clear she had no intention of allowing any questions to be asked...or answered.
We decided to skip dessert.
This was intended as a special occasion for myself and my niece, but there was nothing 'special' about it.
This was the second and last time I will waste my money here, and the first time wasn't much better. Good-bye Talula.
Absolutely fabulous meal in a beautiful setting. Food is delicious, service is perfect, drinks are great. Love the outdoor seating!
great service had problem with my aperitif that was corrected and a delightful waitress Ariel
Outstanding restaurant, excellent food, nicely appointed. We ate inside because it was a hot day and it was very noisy in the dining room. We would go back for special occasions.
I loved the garden seating. The wait staff is knowledagble and friendly. The food was excellent! I recommend getting a cheese plate.
A beautiful Sunday brunch garden theme vibe
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious brunch at Talula’s on a recent visit to Philadelphia. The garden was lovely, but we ate inside, lovely ambiance as well, as it was a rather warm day. The menu and setting is also very suitable for children.
Sunday brunch was amazing. I highly recommend Talulas. My only complaint is our server was not very friendly or personable. The serving sizes were just right but some servings could have been bigger for the price. Besides those two things I highly recommend trying this place out. The atsmophere is amazing and the food tastes so good.
Very good food very nice place. We ended up at the bar because it was very cold le inside, the hostess was not helpful at all and she was even a little mean. Place is great food is great the service at the bar very good.
Always have a fantastic meal and enjoy new foods at Talula’s!
We ate at the bar and enjoyed a trout dish and mussels risotto. The ambiance was spectacular for a summer evening.
I was visiting Philadelphia and I chose Talula's because of the good reviews. I discover all the good reviews are well deserved. It has an exciting menu and a well stocked bar. Our food was outstanding (we did not go for the tasting menu) and the service was great.
It was amazing!
This is the second time I've eaten here. The first was with a four of my friends and this Friday with my husband for our anniversary. I had great food and service both times. This is a bustling bistro scene. With my friends I didn't notice the noise level, but for a romantic dinner, I found it a bit too loud. However, even with the decibels ramped up, we totally enjoyed our food and wine. I would go back again, especially with a group. I think the garden area is quieter and very pretty. (We would have chosen to sit outside but it threatened rain all day.)
Every year I delight in coming to this beautiful restaurant ~ this year I was so very disappointed. Our waitress was not welcoming or willing to go out of her way to explain entrees or lactose free options. The manager was lovely but I had many questions about entrees that were vegan and free of butter and cream. Our waitress was minimally helpful~ I was completely disappointed this year and sadly next year I will try another birthday spot to celebrate
The waitress noticed us checking out our friend's engagement ring and not only congratulated her, but brought out a special dessert. I thought this was a nice touch to the terrific service we received.
Went here after hearing and seeing great reviews. Was not disappointed. Great cheese and wine selection. Our server Diane was amazing, above and beyond. And the Ricotta donuts for dessert were fantastic!
Lovely environment after a hard day's work...It was a well-deserved treat for myself and a colleague. Staff were ever present to refill our water, clear the table and check on us. It provided a beautiful environment (we dined inside), lovely ambiance and delicious fresh food. The fresh mint in the water was a nice addition. I have recommended to everyone I know...
Everything was great but were seated right next to the bar.
Fantastic food. We tried the chicken, salmon and pork entrees and they were all marvelous. Started with a very varied and delicious cheese plate.
Our server was rather cold and clinical, although the rest of the staff was very warm and welcoming. Appreciated the floor manager stopping by Tom heck on each table.
What a gem! My boyfriend's family was visiting and this was the perfect place to take them. They are foodies, from New York, and Talula's Garden did not disappoint. The atmosphere was perfect - upscale but still cozy and not too loud. Our server was extremely knowledgable and so helpful with my vegan dietary restrictions. I often feel like a burden mentioning this diet choice at a non-vegan restaurant, but the server and chef made me feel SO accommodated for and everything was DELICIOUS. Especially the desserts...wow! We were already discussing our return to this great spot the next time our dinner guests are in town. Thank you!!
Food was wonderful. I had the peaches and pork. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Server was excellent. He had a great sense of humor.
My wife and I were in Philadelphia to see Radiohead for our 3rd Anniversary. Something about Talula's was calling to us... what was that something? The cheese boards! We came for the cheese, but were equally impressed by the incredible beauty of the restaurant, the graciousness and warmth of the staff who were at once refined and totally down to earth. It was an evening in paradise - the food was absolutely incredible, the ambience was perfect, and they got us out of there with plenty of time to make it to our show. If we lived in Philly (we are New Yorkers), this would be one of our favorite restaurants.
