Talley's Kitchen and Bar Ratings and Reviews
I was looking forward to trying this highly rated restaurant not that far from my home. The server informed us there was no bread or anything else provided. I ordered the trout dinner for $17. It came on a plate with about a tablespoon of a tasty Couscous salad. That was it. The trout was fair, not well seasoned. The service was also fair, not too attentive. Although I am not a big eater, I was still hungry. All in all, very disappointing. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
A neighborhood gem! The cheese board was delicious with yummy cheeses, fig jam, spiced pecans and cranberries. We also tried the gnocchi. They were fantastic. Smoked mozzarella, flavorful roasted tomatoes and plenty of basil, garlic, and parmasean. Was a dish that hit the spot. And on top of great food, Talley's has great service. They went above and beyond to make the evening special. Warm, heartfelt greetings, attentive care and special attention paid to the kids to make sure they had a nice experience too. Was a lovely dinner and we look forward to going back.
Food is always solid. Felt like whomever does wine pricing duped us on an off menu wine that we know well and drink often. Shame on me but to others who go there I would make sure to confirm pricing on wine and don’t assume the multiplier used for the wines on the menu is the same for the off menu wines
The noise level was horrible. My friend and I were seated in what should have been a quiet corner with the window to the street and the wall. We were 10 inches apart and had to yell at each other.
I had a headache after 30 mins and found the entire experience completely ruined by all the noise.
It was full but still.. what is wrong with these places that you can't hear yourself think.
We enjoyed our Saturday night dinner at Talley's even though our soups were not the best. My husband's onion soup was very hot and my tortilla soup was barely warm but very spicy. The main dishes were very good. My husband loved the scallops and I had the short ribs which were wonderful and a large enough portion so my husband could have some. For dessert I had the White Chocolate Martini (yum) and my husband had the cheesecake which he enjoyed. All in all we thought it was a delightful Saturday night meal.
Had 7:15 Saturday reservation for two and were seated promptly. Our server, Mandy, was terrific and very knowledgeable about the menu and wines to match. The baked goat cheese appetizer, onion soup and yesterday's lentil soup were all excellent. The braised short rib was very tasty and enough to share for my wife and me. Add a bottle of sensual chocolate wine (Malbec and Syrah) and it was an excellent meal. It was quiet enough for conversation until the live singer started after 8PM. We'll take that into account next time.
With only two other tables occupied, our server pressed is for and order without as much as a smile. The descriptions given were vague. We were left on our own after the food was served, despite needing to correct the meat temp of one order. The rest of our food was good. The music playing was odd and difficult to either listen to or talk over. We asked that it be turned down. Later in the evening the music genre changed; perhaps at the request of additional guests. Our server did not improve, unfortunately.
This will be on my go-to list of favorites for local dining. There was a fair going on in the streets so there were a lot of walk-ins with children which led to a lot of noise but tolerable. I will return when less hectic. Food was outstanding, gourmet. Waitress was exceptional, attentive but not bothersome. Highly recommended.
The service was horrible. My husband ordered a drink and never came. We saw our server once when we ordered an appetizer. we were still waiting to place an entree order and awaiting our drinks, when we decided this was a waste. We paid for our app and left. Again, seeing our waiter once in about 30 min. He Never checked to see how the app was , if we needed anything, etc. The food smelled good and the appetizer was good, but would not recommend based on the service.
