Food always good. Service always disappointing. Not sure why that doesn't change.
You don't know what you are missing until you visit Talley's. While the menu is not extensive, every time I have been there the food has been excellent. The night I visited I had scallops which were superb. The Table service was attentive and top notch as well. Best, but not least, the food is very reasonably priced. You will enjoy your experience.
We loved it, great beer and wonderful food, loved the meatloaf and appetizers, our server was amazing
Atmosphere was VERY loud! I’m never one to comment on noise we but couldn’t carry a conversation at our table. Server didn’t greet us until 10minutes after being seated and was missing the whole meal. No recomenations or specials mentioned until we asked and the was just a rattle of the specials with no recommendations. Seemed rushed when the waiter did see us and seemed like he never tried any of the meals prior so no recommendations to offer. French onion soup was great and Panko chicken left much to be desired as it was quite bland. Dessert did not catch our attentional at all. I assume that perhaps we caught the restaurant on a very busy and loud night. Not sure but the food was nothing impressive and the service was lousy. Wish it could have offered more especially for myself living in the neighborhood.
I've been to this place multiple times, and they never disappoint! It boasts a great atmosphere, creative menu, and fantastic service. Their short rib grilled cheese is fantastic! They also have a great selection of wine and beer. Go on Saturday nights to enjoy live music. Truly a gem in downtown Clarendon Hills.
I went here for my 21st birthday dinner with friends. Everything about the evening was lovely. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was amazing. Drink were fabulous. Will definitely be coming here again.
Consistently our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Good food, good service, and “everybody knows your name”
We had a great meal at a very reasonable price, our only complaint was the noise level.
the place is very nice I had the meatloaf it was good seemed to sweet for my taste but the texture was spot on, my wife had the beer can chicken which was very good could have had a crispier skin but it was juices and flavorful
very good seafood options; nice service; we were seated right away with our reservation
Great food. Great place to meet a group and hang out. They don’t rush your meal and let you linger!
Hand't been to Talley's in a couple of years. Didn't disappoint. Special Mahi Mahi was really good and the short ribs was delicious. Jeffrey was very attentive and took care of us through the night. Will definitely come back!
Thursday night, small crowd. Great patient service. A good night to enjoy chicken sandwich, baked brie, steak with fries and a couple drinks and chat and catch up. Lots of families and take out orders, too.
Talley’s is spectacular. The food is unbelievable. Drink
List, including wine is excellent, and the service is superb. Highly recommended!!
Simple menu with good ingredients. Enough selection to please most. Food was good quality, service was good.
Valentine’s Day dinner with wife.
Great food and great service!
It’s cozy spot with good food and attentive friendly service.
The food was wonderful. The atmosphere and service was just what we were looking for ! Putting on my list of favorites
I was looking forward to trying this highly rated restaurant not that far from my home. The server informed us there was no bread or anything else provided. I ordered the trout dinner for $17. It came on a plate with about a tablespoon of a tasty Couscous salad. That was it. The trout was fair, not well seasoned. The service was also fair, not too attentive. Although I am not a big eater, I was still hungry. All in all, very disappointing. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
Delightful evening for 6 of us. Nice table, service, and food. Did not feel rushed at all. We stayed 3 hours. The two couples we brought had not been there before and they thoroughly enjoyed.
Talley's used to be a local favorite for us. Food has been fair last few times. Nice people. Kitchen in question.
A neighborhood gem! The cheese board was delicious with yummy cheeses, fig jam, spiced pecans and cranberries. We also tried the gnocchi. They were fantastic. Smoked mozzarella, flavorful roasted tomatoes and plenty of basil, garlic, and parmasean. Was a dish that hit the spot. And on top of great food, Talley's has great service. They went above and beyond to make the evening special. Warm, heartfelt greetings, attentive care and special attention paid to the kids to make sure they had a nice experience too. Was a lovely dinner and we look forward to going back.
Loved the food and the service. Was great to meet the owner and especially her adorable daughter. Had a wonderful time and will definitely go back. Definitely a place to recommend to friends and family.
Great food, service and atmosphere. A wonderful small hidden gem!
Talley’s is a great neighborhood find- cool wait staff, very unpretentious, and good food
Food is always solid. Felt like whomever does wine pricing duped us on an off menu wine that we know well and drink often. Shame on me but to others who go there I would make sure to confirm pricing on wine and don’t assume the multiplier used for the wines on the menu is the same for the off menu wines
First time here, but won’t be the last. We don’t live in the immediate neighborhood, but definitely worth a short drive. Great food and service.
Everything was great, except the live entertainment that night. He was not good...proved to be distracting, rather than enhancing the experience.
Nice, quiet, good atmosphere neighborhood restaurant
Satisfying fried green bean and baked goat cheese appetizers. Always tasty Tally burger, beer can chicken, and short rib sandwich. Nicely done, Talley's, again!
The noise level was horrible. My friend and I were seated in what should have been a quiet corner with the window to the street and the wall. We were 10 inches apart and had to yell at each other.
I had a headache after 30 mins and found the entire experience completely ruined by all the noise.
It was full but still.. what is wrong with these places that you can't hear yourself think.
Love the food, ambience, and service. The
Fries were a bit undercooked.
We enjoyed our Saturday night dinner at Talley's even though our soups were not the best. My husband's onion soup was very hot and my tortilla soup was barely warm but very spicy. The main dishes were very good. My husband loved the scallops and I had the short ribs which were wonderful and a large enough portion so my husband could have some. For dessert I had the White Chocolate Martini (yum) and my husband had the cheesecake which he enjoyed. All in all we thought it was a delightful Saturday night meal.
I've been here twice. I was happy with everything. The only disappointing thing was my bf said they can't make an old fashion. Otherwise everything was great!
Great service, excellent food. Wish the Steak bites were a little bigger, still tasty.
Very nice restaurant. Reservations at 6:00 and the place was full at 6:30. A little for everyone. Great soup/flatbread. We had the mushroom soup which was excellent, flatbread and panko chicken. Friendly staff.
Very enjoyable. Will go back
Small cozy space but not cramped. Food was good including a variety of fish, chicken and beef within the 6 of our party. Good wine and decent dessert rounded out the meal. Guitarist provided good background music.
Very cozy and welcoming restaurant! We had the szechuan pork wings, steak and fries and the short rib grilled cheese. Everything was delicious! Will return!
Had 7:15 Saturday reservation for two and were seated promptly. Our server, Mandy, was terrific and very knowledgeable about the menu and wines to match. The baked goat cheese appetizer, onion soup and yesterday's lentil soup were all excellent. The braised short rib was very tasty and enough to share for my wife and me. Add a bottle of sensual chocolate wine (Malbec and Syrah) and it was an excellent meal. It was quiet enough for conversation until the live singer started after 8PM. We'll take that into account next time.
