What Insiders Are Saying
Sure, Top Chef may be to the restaurant industry what American Idol is to the music industry. Yet we still root for some of our Top Chef favorites, namely Dale Talde, whose new restaurant in Park Slope was generally excellent.
I am very upset with open table ! I am a regular user of open table we had a reservation on jan 5 th at talde restaurant made on open table ! We took
A uber there since it is hard to park ! We arrived to find the restaurant permently closed ! Why weren't we informed by OpenTable ! That is not right and we are very upset ! I thought you protect reservations
Please get back to me
As an Asian, thought this restaurant that touts itself for its panasian food (fusion of different asian food) might be a disappointment. (Couldn't find restaurant nearby for a table of 6 for nye dinner). However, I was throughly impressed. Food was on point. I mean it's overpriced for Asian food, like fried rice for almost $20 really? BUT it was real good. Im glad my friend and her Austrian parents enjoyed as well.
Dishes worth mentioning.
1. Shrimp dish
2. Kung pao chicken (skip the Korean fried chicken which was too dry)
3. Vegetable fried rice
Branzino wasnt bad either. Maybe we would have enjoyed it more if it came out earlier and was one of the first dishes we had.
Overall, impressed and will visit again.
It was great exv
Delicious and busy! Food took a little while to come out and to restaurants credit they gave us a few items complimentary while we waited. They were SLAMMED and thats cause the food is so damn good. Will definitely go again
I will dine here whenever in New York for the crab fried rice alone. The noodles, salad and branzino were also delicious. Great value. Great flavors.
Have been here twice recently times, the food was spot on both times! The service isn't great but the food definetly makes coming here worth it!
The food was delicious and imaginative and the service was knowledgeable and friendly.
Good flavors and ample portions - a tasty pan-Asianesque experience. Had Fried Chicken, Shrimp and Brussel Sprouts. Chicken was crisp and not too bready... lemongrass added good flavor. Shrimp was cooked well but a little sweet (to be fair, that's how it's listed on the menu). Sprouts were tasty and a large portion. Cocktails we're mixed well with a nice selection of both draft and bottle beers
Talde is always busy and lively, so that can affect the service a little. But the wait is worth it! They have happy hour specials on both food and drink, which was a great surprise!
Talde is always a treat. We’ve been going for years and have never been disappointed.
Well , the restaurant called us 1 hour in advance to confirm the reservation, but neglected to tell us they had no heat.
It was freezing in there . We would of gone someplace else in a heartbeat.
When we told the workers they said they’ve been working on it and didn’t offer any Comp drinks or even the burnt cookies that we ordered.
I am done with this place.
The food came out room temperature, seasoning and flavor all over the place on each plate of food, the "charred" greens and pea pods were not at all charred, more like steamed and barely seasoned. Really disappointed, having enjoyed brunch there many times. Even the pretzel pork chive dumplings tasted like they'd been sitting around for a while. Dale, get in there and tune the place up! A bad look for you!
This was my first visit and I'll definitely be back. The food is fabulous! Not to be missed for Brooklyn foodies.
Delicious! A neighborhood gem on steroids. Great food, nice service!
It's been about a year since I'd been here. But before then I had been there a bunch. Put simply, everything was ok but not nearly as good as I remember it.
The food is excellent, Talde is one of my favorite restaurants in Park Slope. That said, on our most recent visit, we were seated over a half hour after our reservation because the host was either incapable of, or uninterested in, moving along the people seated at the table earmarked for us. A frustrating way to start an otherwise great meal.
Waited over 40 minutes for our reserved table.
The food is incredible. We ordered a lot of appetizers and shared everything! The wings, tots, pancakes, fried rice, and dumplings were incredible!
We liked the items on the original menu better than those that have replaced them. Talde's should also offer dim sum meals.
One of my absolute favorite spots in my old neighborhood. It looks like they’ve recently changed their menu a bit and now have bigger, family-style portions. Excellent change and no loss of the quality or creativity of the dishes.
I’m still thinking about the food days later. Unique, delicious combinations in a cozy atmosphere.
The food here is pretty overpriced. We started with the pretzel dumplings which sound like a clever idea, but the flavors don't mesh very well. Should have got the wings instead.
Since the food is family style we got two mains, the Ribs and noodles with beef. Both were mediocre. I wanted the meat to fall right off the bone for the price that we paid (I think it was $26?) but that did not happen. And the noodles in the beef dish felt like lasagna making the whole dish a little off putting.
I can say this is definitely a unique dining experience and something I don't eat a lot of but the flavors and quality were just okay. Lots of better places to spend your money in Brooklyn.
I believe we were given 11 wings instead of 12, for the record but still had a great time
How delish! I'd been for dinner before but brunch as a pleasant surprise of the menu staples and great breakfast hits. I'm not sure who's soul is in the syrup that comes with the AMAZING waffles, but you can feel it. SO good!
We had a great meal and the environment let us easily converse with one another...highly recommended!
We always love eating at Talde. Never a bad meal or drink.
Great takes on classics food mixing interesting and delicious flavors in unique ways
It was Sunday at 8PM and our favorite dishes were all sold out. Branzino and Crab fried rice.
The problem about their menu is there's not so many other choices. we had 3 green salad, a noodle dish and vegetable fried rice. there was nothing special at all. The service was rough too - the host just threw the menus on the table (wtf?!)
I was just there 2 weeks ago and had 3 green salad and it was great. This time, they only used kale. not 3 greens. Everything was super mediocre.. Talde is one of our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood and we were very disappointed. We chose to eat there for my husbands' birthday and we weren't happy at all.
Talde's menu plays to their strengths and what they do - it's not sprawling - but everything is yummy. It's family style and perfect for hungry groups. The flavors are bold and pungent - not for the faint of heart.
Great food, great staff
Never lets me down
Looking forward to my next time there
consistently excellent food and service.can be a bit loud
Really wonderful food, and courteous service, atmosphere is super romantic and cozy.
We were excited about the menu and the food did not disappoint. Outstanding. The mushroom buns were a particular favorite, and the bacon and oyster pad thai.
However, the waitress took one look at us and decided she wanted to turn our table ASAP. (bad plan). She pushed us on drinks, then ordering. Once we had ordered some apps, she came back three times to push us into ordering more food. I told her the second time that we couldn't order until we saw how large the plates were (there were five of us), and that we wanted to take our time and stretch out the meal. I told her we were hungry and were going to order a lot, which we did. Eventually.
We ordered 13 drinks, 5 apps, 3 noodle dishes, 2 entrees and 2 sides total. She got her tip. But I felt pushed, and then, when she realized she couldn't push us out, ignored. Not OK. Once we ordered the rest of us our food, she ignored us. Our crab fried rice didn't come until it was a take out order. To her credit, she took it off the bill. But I didn't enjoy her very transparent attitude.
It was good but a little pricey. You can get most of the food on the menu for cheaper in most restaurants and the quality was ok, but not great.
Kat was our waitress and she was amazing, despite the fact that dessert wasn’t on the menu Kat had the chef make a nice little fruit bowl with a candle on top. If you ask me I don’t think any other waitress would have gotten this done! It meant soo much as it was my friends first birthday in the US. Thanks Kat your name isn’t ordinary cause you’re extraordinary. Xxx
Talde has raised the tasty quotient - really hard to beat for dishes you start quickly crave. Love the chow fun and branzino. Nice drink menu and I am never disappointed by their wines. Not many vegetarian options, alas. But the shrimp is yummy too - an elevated General Tso’s. The menu is small but there are no bad dishes. One slight disappointment was the skimpy portion of braised greens—partly because I truly wanted more and partly cause it cost $13!! It is not cheap, but for what you get, it’s worth every penny.
A very nice experience. Every dish we ordered was tasty. The shrimp with walnuts was not what I was expecting; it was even better! The shared plate portions are good sized. We ordered 3 plus an appetizer for 2 people and had leftovers with 2 of them.
This food is truly art! Everytime I go I am amazed at the layers of favor.
I get the walnut shrimp and crab fried rice. Both are masterpieces!
Food was really salty and I love salty food. Very unimpressive and I’ve been here 3x—gotta give it a chance. Had brunch here twice (limited menu and honestly, the taters tots were the best thing I ordered) and dinner once (better menu but still not again, food isn’t impressive). Will likely never be back again—unless someone else chooses the place. :/
Food was delicious. Four of us chose to share, and we enjoyed the pretzel dumplings, lacquered ribs, walnut shrimp and spring vegetable fried rice. The server even split a glass of wine for two of us, who were the designated drivers. Service was friendly, and informative, attentive but not overbearing. A smile-generating experience. We’ll be back.
