The service was extremely casual, but so was the ambiance. The bar and bartender were very pleasant. Some of the dishes seemed quite overpriced for what they were, but everyone was happy with their meals. I would go there again, but it won't become a go-to for me.
It was the worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant in a long time. I called Talde to make sure they knew it was my daughter’s birthday. After we sat down and ordered drinks and appetizers the waitress let us know that they did not have 3 out of the 6 entrees . Then we ordered a noodle dish and she came back and said we couldn’t have that dish until 8 o’clock. We asked for the manager and asked why we weren’t told this when we first sat down. He had nothing intelligent to say. The 6 of us got up, paid for the drinks, and then had an amazing dinner down the street at Matthews. How can a restaurant run out of half there menu and think it’s ok to still open up to the publuc
Very fun good food! Went for daughters birthday. Everyone found something they liked!
been to Taldes 4 times now, great food, always a good time.
strongly recommend to anyone.
In general, this place has been hyped up to me. The food was poor, super unhealthy and heavy with sauces and the service was sub-par. I was really disappointed.
Waitress was really friendly and attentive, our food was great and noise levels were just about right! Great Sunday dinner with family!
I've eaten at Talde a few times before, and have always had good experiences. I also know many others who have always, had very good things to say. However, this night the service was awful. It took a long time for a server to begin helping us. And we waited almost 30 minutes for our drinks. The server said that the bartender was backed up. I'm not sure if they have a separate bartender just for the tables, but I noticed another bartender just standing around while we were waiting. On three separate occasions, food that we did not order was brought to our table, and we had to let them know it was not for us. The server only checked in with us when she was delivering our orders/drinks. I had to flag her down to order more drinks, and once more when asking for the bill.
Overall, the food was very good. However, I had the General Talde's chicken and I found it to be bland. Everything else was very good, especially the #6 BAO which was fantastic as usual. I do think this was just an off night for them, but we had friends visiting from out of town and I had told them that this was one of the best restaurants in the city. While it won't prevent me from going back, I was very disappointed.
The food was good, but there was very little of it for the amount of money and the service was horrendous. Wait staff kept forgetting to bring everything and kept disappearing. They brought out a flight of wings, but didn't tell us which were which. The next person we flagged did not know and had to go for help. They did not clear away appetizer plates and looked amazed when we asked for additional plates when they brought main dishes to share. They brought the salad last and asked if we wanted the dessert at the same time. There was a bug in my friend's drink. They served a plate of octopus, except that only half the plate had food on it. The other half was completely empty. Needless to say, I will not be back.
Unfortunately, this visit to Talde's, after an absence of a few years, was quite disappointing. The noise level was awful, although there was a jazz band, of course, but nothing about the place is designed to soften noise. Food was inventive and okay, but not as good as I remember it. Maybe the menu changed. Anyway, I will not be back.
Good place for sharing different dishes. Enjoyed the shrimp with walnuts.
Our friend Joe plays Jazz music on Wednesdays . We love going and watching him perform. We love the food and feel of the restaurant. Would highly recommend to anyone. Going to try another night with their weekly events. A true find
We've been to Talde a couple of times and I've always been pleasantly surprised with their dishes each time. The lobster bao was delicious as well as the tandoori chicken. Definitely a menu to try out with foodies who can't pick a genre!
Food was great and value was good. Knocked off one star because my friend and my food didn't come out at the same time, and it took a LONG time to come out.
The food was good but the restaurant was freezing. The service was a little lackluster because we waited a long time for dessert. Highlight of the meal was the cauliflower and the ramen, food was good.
Food was good but most were spicy dishes. Very loud , hard to hear server. Very dark. Water wasn’t refilled. Very few appetizers for the price. Recommend ramen. Wouldn’t return.
Service left a lot to be desired including forgetting about a main entree order when there were maybe three other covers at the time.
Food was delicious
Service less than stellar. Had one cocktail. Never offered a chance to order another.
Wait staff invisible except for taking order, delivering food, and delivering check
Would go back anyway because food is so delicious unique and creative
Service was terrible.
Literally had 4 courses, and each one topped the next. It was so freaking good. We had the Pretzel Pork Dumplings, then the Chicken Baos (Personal favorite) with this delicious aioli sauce and then the Ramen was perfect. The cookie dessert was good, but a bit rich. Could only eat like two bites. Overall service was great, waitress was sweet and new.
Great place for everyday dining, business meal, and groups. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is exceptional. I love how creative the chefs are with reimagining classic dishes from various Asian cuisine. I would definitely return so I can try everything on the menu!
Great ambiance. Great cocktail list. Food was delicious. Price was about what you’d expect. Was a little disappointed when our entrees came out before our apps.
nice atmosphere... the food can be a bit too salty at times, but overall was great to share
My wife and I traveled across the globe to eat at this place and celebrate a Fil-American who has made a name for himself. But our experience left us underwhelmed.
When we arrived exactly for our 5pm reservation, the front line staff were somewhat cold, as if they weren’t happy to see customers coming in. We politely asked for a better table (place was still empty), but were curtly told that everything was reserved.
Food was a long wait. Only rice came out first and it took the other dishes 15 minutes more to come out. If you know how Asian food is eaten, this is a big mistake.
The fried rice was good, but considering all the hype, this place was a disappointment. I hope Talde looks at how his people interpret his vision because his people are giving him a bad name.
Tasty food and nice cocktails in a fun environment, esp with the doors/windows thrown open on warm evening. However It was very loud and difficult to hold a conversation.
Had a reservation for 12:45 for brunch. We arrived on time. Ordered and received drinks promptly but for the next hour that was pretty much all we had - that one beverage because after placing food orders we didn't see our waitress or our food for another hour. Not an exaggeration. When the food started to arrive it came out one at a time with anywhere from 5 mins to 15 mins until the next one. They like to say it is "tapas style" or shared plates" so comes out staggered but explain to me how avocado toast or a taylor ham and egg sandwich is family style???? Nobody took responsibility for the atrocious service. We had people at the table who received and finished their meal 45 minutes before the last person received theirs. This was the worst dining experience I have had - ever. They just kept saying "we told you the food comes out as it is ready" which is a pathetic excuse for a badly run kitchen which in turn causes a badly run dining room. Awful, pathetic and sad that a restaurant that started with potential has failed so miserably. People go out to eat together to EAT TOGETHER! Get it together Talde. I will be shocked if they are still in business a year from now.
I live in Hoboken, and although there are many restaurants in the square mile city, I wanted to try something different for dinner. Talde was perfect. I made a reservation online and my guests and I were seated immediately upon arrival. Our waiter was friendly, well versed on the menu, and was very patient with our indecisiveness.
The servers, too, were fantastic. The food was brought out in a timely manner and it was delicious. A very short and easy to read menu led to a wonderful dining experience.
Talde is always a hit.
This was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in years. They had the air conditioning on in 55 degree rainy weather which made it unbearable to be there. We addressed it with the server, and nothing was done. They appetizers were tasty, but cold, and the worst part was the cheap metal chairs/wobbly tables! What a waste of money and time.
So disappointed that I booked my bday dinner here. Forgotten meals, no soap in bathroom, wait time for everything, no plates, undercooked food
Where do I begin. Now, I’m not one to bash a restaurant for minor flubs or having an off night. However, on a recent Saturday night an egregious act against nature was had. First, the explanation of the menu was lacking from the waitress. I didn’t know if the menu was a sharing plates/tapas menu or traditional 3 course menu. 1st dish was the Bao buns, which were not bad but nothing special. Next we received the edamame which were half lukewarm half cold. Taste wasn’t bad but you could tell they were left under a heat lamp to long. Next was my gfs octopus salad which we thought was an entree and would come out with my ramen but instead came alone and was inedible. It was really cold and so salty it had to be sent back. The send back kinda hurt me cause I haven’t sent back food in over 15 yrs at a restaurant. We asked the waitress if we could see a menu to order another entree, she returned 15 min later with a menu and still no ramen for me. Next we get the rice and crab meat side which was not presented well. Just some white rice and mayo. Maybe their was crab in there maybe there wasn’t. Now for the Ramen my own entree. How did my entree go, not well. Their was no broth, it was all noodle and a plastic spoon with a 6 minute egg. After that my gf wanted out so we popped green smoke and waited for extraction. Unfortunately it took another 20 to see our waitress but instead I was greeted by a manager. She asked if I had a bad night and took care of the bill which I can say was somewhat uplifting. Overall I would just ask to pay more attention to 2 person tables instead of all the 6-8 person tables. I mean I had to beg the bus boy for a water refill.
Service was poor, forgot to bring 2 of the items ordered,
The General Talde chicken although good, is not a patch on the Korean Chicken !!
Wonderful place to go. Always enjoyable on top of delicious food and delicious cocktails.
Service was slow and inconsistent; Mostly Bar
Pork, Steak, rice balls, spring rolls were very good!
Great food, great ambiance, great staff and service, food on the pricy side, but overall a great place.
Been to Talde 4 times now, never disappoints.
Will go back again.
The menu and execution of the food is always very good here. The chef's creative menu items never disappoint in presentation and taste.
Food was great, we ordered family style and shared the bao, kale salad, pretzel and pork dumplings, beef short rib kare kare, whole roasted branzino, and Everything Roti bread. The branzino and kale salad we're favorites of the table, I was also a fan of the noodles dish. The roti was also delicious and you could eat that with nothing else. Service was better than I would expect for such a busy restaurant, the waiters were attentive, quick, and informative.
This isn't the first time we've eaten at Talde - Jersey City, but it continues to be one of our favorite spots. The food is delicious and the service is even better! Will continue to recommend Talde and go back again.
The servers could use some direction/leadership. Food was great!
