We have been to this restaurant many times over the years as it has changed and morphed. I agree with previous post, last year was great, what happened. I was there a week ago and it was ok. We had a particularly poor dish this time. The waiter was appropriately apologetic and had the manager stop who basically dismissed us. If you receive food that tastes as if it is watery from being unfrozen, especially if it is one of the persons only choices, it would be customary to remove it from the bill. I wouldn't even be writing this poor review if it had been appropriately addressed. This restaurant has the opportunity to be a neighborhood gem and has been in the past. They need some quality control and to carry through when it disappoints.
Excellent meal. We shared appetizers—all delicious. Some followed with entrees. All excellent. Will go again this week!
Food came out cold and all main dishes had difdeeent proteins with a smoky, chemical like taste. The sister restaurant downtown is so much better.
From apps through dessert everything was delicious. Attentive service and comfortable atmosphere
Just a fantastic meal, highly recommend the appetizers..all of them. Had the pad Thai which was delicious. Our server was a good sport with a large group on the ski trip and helped ensure we had a great time.
The waiter was sick and continued to cough and blow his noise the whole dinner. The soup that I normally get was not good, and the description of all the items on menu didn't match the food that was brought to us. I would not go back! Too much money, slow service and now I have a cold thanks to our waiter!
Talay has wonderful food, a great wait staff and very comfortable seating that allows friends to linger and chat.
Service was good, dietary restrictions are handled well. Food is ok, but not as good as in the past. Soup and appetizer rolls were good, but noodle dishes were somewhat tired. The tofu seemed like it was fried ahead and there was little in the way of fresh vegetables in the noodles
, just a couple of pieces of green pepper.
Food was Devine! Service was the pits. I would go again hoping we just had a bad service night. Food was worth returning.
Excellent food, service and great wine/drinks. Highly recommend.
Great food, but very noisy
Service - poor servers were bringing food out to the wrong tables , not just our table , but throughout the entire restaurant
Talay has raised its bar this year. The food was so good. We’ve been dining in Talay for several years now and this year it was beyond good. We live in NYC, so am accustomed to good Thai food. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Evan the manager is very accommodating and really cares about the patrons that dine in Talay. Thank you Evan!!!
Poor food quality and effort from the kitchen the service was good
Great location, food was presented beautifully and taste matched!
Talay is a gem in Mountain Village. Friendly, attentive service, wonderful choice of small plates and traditional Thai favorites. Cocktails are innovative and taste as good as they look. Try the dumplings, handrolls, and steamed buns.
Friendly but disorganized service. Food was so-so at best.
Very disappointed in the food . Last year was amazing - don’t know what happened . Will not return
Our meal was great and the service was prompt and friendly. We would definitely go back. My friend's dish had 3 soft shell crabs on top! A hearty portion for sure. All at our table were very pleased.
We really enjoyed our experience. The food was wonderful and the service was perfect. We will be back and will bring friends and family. Everything we had was excellent!
We were disappointed in our experience here, both because of the slow service and mixed quality of the dishes. We had a 6pm reservation and did not receive our first appetizer until after 7pm. Several of the dishes, including the miso soup, were extremely salty. The steamed rice was not fully cooked. Perhaps the kitchen was under-staffed due to the holiday week but, given the high cost of the food, we expected much better.
