So disappointing. I did not know Talavera “changed”. I guess it’s been about a year. This restaurant was 5-stars all the way before. Now, the ambiance is “stark” (all the beautiful tapestry and cushy seats are gone, replaced by plain chairs and gray walls). The food was “ok”. If the price was lower, the value might have been there for a repeat. But, this one is “off my list” now. This restaurant used to serve high-end food at high-end prices... and it was worth it. The service is still great. Our waiter was terrific, knew the menu well, and was very helpful. Although, I must say, it was odd, that, not once, were we asked if we needed a refill on our drinks... in any event, a great restaurant lost. The Four Seasons can/should do better then this.

I have made the trip to The Four Seasons many times for the views and have only had bad food at their more casual restaurant called Proof. We thought the fancier restaurant would be better and decided to give it a go. I don’t know where to begin w how bad our experience was at Talavera. Our server was incompetent, arrogant, unknowledgeable about the menu and drinks. The menu is unintelligible..... the food description is half baked at best with key ingredients either missing or only in Spanish with inaccurate description from the smug waiter. The food is downright bad. Actually offensive. How is it possible to screw up lamb meatballs?? Well Talavera has managed to do so by serving us black, hard, over cooked meatballs. Our waiter never came back to ask us if we wanted more drinks. They removed half the table’s dirty appetizer dishes and brought out their main courses while our dirty dishes sat in front of us. Then they brought out our food while our dirty dishes sat in front of us. The salmon was $40, the waiter told us that it was wild salmon but it didn’t taste so at all. Just incredible for a restaurant at The Four Seasons. The manager, Vittorio must have caught wind of our unhappiness and came out to make things right, which was appreciated but sadly we left w such a bad taste in our mouths that , after visiting the Four Seasons for over ten years, we won’t be returning. Ever. It was so bad that 24 hours later we are all still talking about how bad it was.

The prices are out of this universe! $18 for 3 meatballs, $60 for a steak and $60 for rack of lamb. The rack of lamb was tasty but $60 for 3 bones is outrageous. It was more of an appetizer than a meal. The outdoor seating is great as are the views. A nice place to go once a year or just once to experience. But there are much better restaurants that offer reasonable pricing and not the four seasons outrageous prices. And they add a 20% tip on to the bill automatically. I normally leave that percentage but it should be up to me, not to have it added in automatically. Overall, our party felt the food was good, service was good, prices were beyond ridiculous. I guess they can get away with it!

We went for a very special birthday. It was breathtaking. I spoke to maitre d to secure our fabulous table with a view, per request. He indicated we were outside with the “best” view. We had come early enough to grab a drink and the view and had Indicated that. $80 bar tab later, when we went to be seated, they had NOT held our table after all and attempted to seat us inside. I indicated that would, not work and we got an outside table in the back row. All women dining, perhaps? Not nice. Fairly well ignored by our very busy server. But in spite of the inferior treatment, we did indeed love this place.

Terribly disappointed that our favorite restaurant has been completely transformed from a elegant decor to a minimalist grey cold eatery with a tapas theme menu. No soup or bread is served. My main dish was greasy. A total disappointment and we are not likely to go back. I guess they never heard of " if it ain't broke, don't fix it!".
Very sad.

From the service, the food, the setting, to the ambiance, it was an outstanding experience and more than I expected in every way. The menu is authentically Spanish and the delivery-the quality of the preparation, the flavor combinations, the presentation-surpassed what I’ve had in Spain!

This used to be my favorite restaurant. While the setting, service and ambiance remain unparalleled, the new menu is very disappointing. Am not sure why they decided to convert to a "Spanish steakhouse" but in my opinion, it just doesn't work. There are scarce few items on the menu that appeal. The cheese bread is outstanding but that's about the only thing I found exciting. As I mentioned, the service is excellent as is the patio setting with enormous fire place and beautiful view. It's almost worth it just for the service and setting, but the cuisine is no longer a draw.

I have read some of the other reviews of people who had a poor experience at this place but mine was perfect. My server was wonderful and knowledgeable about the menu but I opted to select the Del Campo Paella and let me say it was fantastic. It was a generous serving size loaded with pork belly, chicken and chorizo. The golden rice was cooked perfectly and overall the meal was excellent. I had wonderful service but also the view here is amazing as you stare down on the valley below while you dine out. The place is a bit pricey but in my opinion was worth it. I would certainly go back again and try out a steak.

Attended for a joint 70th birthday and we were treated royally...and by our names. An excellent touch I must say. The sunset views on the patio were stupendous and when the sun set my wife was offered a shawl to ward off the cooling breezes. Again, excellent care of customers. Andre, our waiter, carefully explained the menu, the Spanish style flavorings and cooking styles, and made an excellent recommendation for wine! The gift certificate we received was graciously accepted and we plan to visit again for an evening of pampering and fine dining!!!

Unfortunately Talavera disappointed when it came to our server . She was never available to get drinks or even check on our meal after it arrived. When we spoke to the manager she seemed less than concerned and said come back and it won't happen again. I can't recommend a place that charges this much for a meal and has poor service.

We checked in 10 minutes early and were told to get a drink at the bar while we waited. It was a nice outdoor seating area, but our waitress was not very friendly. She brought water and a greasy bowl of potato chips and when I asked for a napkin to wipe the grease off my fingers she seemed genuinely perturbed. As she brought our drinks, she said that our table was ready and brought the check at the same time. When we explained that we were not hotel guests and needed to pay by credit card, she brought a table side machine and couldn’t get the receipt to print. She said that she would bring it to our dining table but never did. The food at the restaurant and the setting was incredible, but the service was very poor. I think we were given the worst waitress. We listened to 2 different servers on either side of us go into detail about how the menu was laid out, what he recommended from each column and each server checked on their tables often. Ours basically asked what we wanted then argued about our choices and asked what order we would like the items brought out. When we told her, the items were not brought out as we requested and she did not come by to check how the food was. We had to ask 3 different people about the tab we had at the bar and that we still needed to sign the receipt. We had to ask our server what the “special” dessert was and we had to ask the bus boy if he could have our waitress bring our check so we could pay and get the heck out of there. Our waitress was more interested in the outdoor yoga class that was going on next to the restaurant and commented that she was very good at yoga. Perhaps a yoga instructor would be a better fit? It definitely was NOT what you would have expected from a Four Seasons establishment.

Some of the best views in Scottsdale. I had friends visiting for a girls trip from out of town. We sat on the deck and really enjoyed the views of the Valley and the spectacular fire feature on the deck. The food was delicious. We all enjoyed the gem salad. And I loved the scallops. The ambiance is lovely and relaxing on the deck. The service was a bit slow. I think it had improved from the last time I was there, however I think there is still room to improve. Overall, though, more was positive and it was a delightful evening.

The view at Talavera is amazing! We really enjoyed watching the sunset with a glass of wine. The menu looked great, but the food preparation was lacking. We ordered the grilled octopus to start, and it was actually very good. Then we ordered the seafood paella, and it did not live up to expectations because the flavor was very bland. For the last course we ordered the filet, and it was over cooked and dry. I would recommend the restaurant for an amazing view, but the food was average at best and overpriced.
