Anthony, the manager is awesome!!!! He is super friendly, and very on top of everything!!!😎👍
This is the second time I’ve been here and there will be a third. I think they do a good job mixing classic Spanish with some modern touches. The food is prepared well, however, a dash more of salt would throw it over the top - not on the paella but the steak and patatas bravas needed some for sure.
I also think this is an elegant restaurant, I love the dark wood and the whole feel of the place.
Great for special occasions. Great service. A bit pricey. Only food criticism is that the rice in the paella absorbs too much salt from the sausage for my taste.
We loved the food; the view is amazing! The service needed work... our waiter was 'terse'.. and the hostess, Nicole, who we greeted at 740pm , twenty minutes before our reservation , (so that we could enjoy a beverage on the patio at Onyx), stated she would come to get us , NEVER did. When at 825pm, (25 min past our dinner reservation!), we finally went to see her, she said we didn't have a reservation! ..she then stated after my husband reminder her of what she had said to us almost an hour prior, who we were and she said , 'OH no! I just seated another Kimberly at your table!' WE don't know if this is why our waiter seemed rushed with us... even serving us a dessert with tree nuts, ( I am allergic to!), that we had gone over prior to the dinner... ( we didn't get offered a menu for dessert, he only rattled them off to us while looking around so we could not see the ingredients ourselves). OVERALL.. great meal... expensive .. NOT as many tapas as I would have expected. Great view. Make a reservation way out.
The Ribeye steak we had was one of the worst I have ever had in my life. The side dishes were ok. I don't mind paying top dollar for a great meal. But for a $80 Ribeye that you could get a better one at Applebees for $25 is outrageous.
Will never come back.
It was beautiful, but we were NOT seated outside- only 2 tables, including us were indoors. I called a few times, including that day to request earlier seating(WHICH THERE WAS PLENTY!) and outside, but was told nothing was available. OUR WAITER DISAPPEARED AFTER OUR ORDERS WERE TAKEN, and we were the last table cleaned up at the end of the night at 9:30 (7:30 reservation). It was just disappointing to drive 40 minutes away to experience this lovely restaurant from the inside as the only guests indoors. We felt as if we were treated differently b/c we were not staying at the hotel. Bummer - for a $900 meal.
My wife and I had an amazing date night here and the atmosphere and food was well worth the price. Highly recommend this if you’re wanting a finer dining experience.
Fabulous experience. Food and service were outstanding.
Amazing experience! The food, service, and views were absolutely perfect. They even surprised us with some cheesecake for our honeymoon dinner!
This is a great restraunt and the atmosphere is amazing. We were seated outdoors and the weather and views were amazing.
Overpriced and food was not very good. Service was excellent and the ambiance was great!
Food was bland. Service was not on level of the FS hotel brand and reputation.
While I understand covid has impacted the restaurant market there was no update given to me from 2 calls to confirm my reservation that the menu is half the size. Only two bread options available and cost me $22 as a high end place like this doesn't serve complimentary bread nor did they have thr bread option we liked from previous visits.. only 2 appetizer options that didn't sound good (grilled octopus and a shellfish-like mix) The salad options were lackluster at best - a beet and weed like salad (no Cesar, wedge, or the like). The entree options included a filet, 20oz sirloin, chicken, pork, and 2 fish. Went with the 8oz filet and it was good. The sides were limited to two potatoes, a Mexican corn, asparagus and a broccoli. Desserts were limited to two options. So for 2 breads, 1 salad split, 1 filet and 1 pork and 2 bottles of Justin Cab($100 per) I spent $400. My wife and I have come here 3 out of last 4 years on our anniversary- but I believe it's time to find another restaurant as Talavera left me wanting a whole lot more. They did offer a complimentary churro with chocolate dessert for our anniversary and we were greeted and they acknowledged our anniversary but I did inform them of the occasion, so i would expect this follow-up. With places like Mastros, Preston's and others not far - I just can see going back.
“Back to Normal” experience!
We celebrated my daughter's 21st birthday, patio has a very beautiful view of the mountain. The appetizers, lamb and paella were very good and we received excellent service taking in consideration the covid limitations. I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion and looking forward to come back once all covid regulations have gone to properly enjoy the real atmosphere of Talavera.
Incredible food & good service
Beautiful views outdoors. Excellent bone marrow with carpaccio and the corvina! The $80 ribeye was significantly overcooked. Wouldn’t recommend the sous vide lamb shank. Attentive service.
great food and relaxing venue. was our 4th time since august.
Beautiful resort with great good! I had the lobster tostadas and the gem salad! Both were delicious. My husband had the paella and he loved it. The shrimp in it were very large it was a beautiful evening.
I took my girlfriend here for Valentines Day. We had reservations already. The experience was amazing all the way around. From the moment we got there with the lovely views and relaxing ambience to the top notch food selections and flavors. Our servers Mira and Ryan were really nice and attentive the whole time. Will definitely go here again.
The indoor atmosphere was just so-so. The waiter was spread thin so our service was sub-par. The food was good but not spectacular.
We had a fabulous dinner with friends! Dinner was great & service wonderful. We love Talavera ❤️
Very attentive. Not just to us but you could see the care as you watched others around you. Beautiful fire place and heaters around the patio to keep you comfortable while watching the sunset. Peaceful setting in a stunning location.
Perfect birthday night out!
Excellent quality filet, some of the best I’ve ever had. Raclette mashed potatoes out of this world.
Our waiter was friendly but forgetful. Left us waiting too long for service and then twice mixed up our order but then compensated by comping some bread and asparagus. He volunteered the comped items, no pressure from me.
Was absolutely remarkable. The chef delivered our special and it felt like we were at a chef’s table. The roasted bone marrow Topped with 30-day aged wagyu and ahi tuna tartare stole the show! The paella was the best we ever had (the Talavera), where the pork belly melted in our mouths, the smoked chicken thighs were incredibly tender, and the lobster/shrimp/mussels/clams were perfect tender. Drinks were perfect as well - dirty martinis and old fashioneds. The Iconoclast Cabernet was a perfect complement to the CAB filet (rare blue). LOVED IT!
We had an amazing meal here. There was a diverse menu with many options. My wife and son had the steak, my daughter had the lobster tostadas and I had the pork dish. All were perfectly prepared and delicious. You won't find a better wine list with more breadth than the one at Talavera. We had an amazing bottle from the Rhône valley. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. I really can’t say enough good things about out experience and the incredible food. Plus, the restaurant has a beautiful setting and ambience.
On line menu showed much larger selection, particularly of small plates, so that was a bit disappointing. We shared the salad, which was just a bit too lightly dressed (don't think I've ever had that complaint before), but a healthy serving and tasty and the octopus appetizer (very good, tender, but could have used a bit more zest in the sauce), the house paella and a bottle of wine. The paella was fabulous - lots of beautifully cooked protein, and yummy rice! Topped it off with the churros with chocolate dipping sauce - a very satisfying meal! Servers were very attentive - seemed really happy to have the restaurant reopened after a 9 month covid shutdown.
Fit for Foodies, romance and special occasions: the dining experience at Talavera is spectacular in every way. The ambiance is sheer perfection with low lighting, soft but upbeat Latin music, and a magnificent view even on a rainy night. The entire staff takes professionalism to the highest level, from your gracious server who paces your meal perfectly, to the GM, Anthony who stops at every table to ensure not one aspect of your experience is amiss.
I have removed one star for the outrageous wine list not meant for mere mortals who just want a simple wine. But if you are a Foodie, you will forgive anything when you try the sopa de maize with Dungeness crab and the Iberian pork mole!
As expected. Good food and good service but forced us to book earlier than we wanted and then took “ walk- ins” after us!
In town for a pre-Christmas week break.
First visit to 4S Scottsdale.
Talavera’s modified menu provides outstanding selections.
Dinner started with lobster tostadas and spicy cream pumpkin seed soup — amazing flavor and shareable.
Pear & greens salad preceded the mains of Talavera paella, Secreto Iberico and Lemon-Rosemary Pollo.
Paella diner commented the prawn and lobster flavors were like “nothing she’d tasted before”.
Iberico dinner enjoyed her meal to a level of opting out of any table sharing (almost).
Pollo, spinach and bean dish was flavorful& moist and with an outstanding crunchy, tasty skin.
Complimentary churros & chocolate sauce was a nice, enjoyable surprise.
San Sebastián cheesecake, an extremely generous portion, served with excellent blackberries & nut praline wedge.
A Definite Highly Recommend (especially during the holidays).
Fabulous dinner and service. Its a great place for a romantic dinner and the staff was beyond incredible!
It’s one of our favorite restaurants. With the new chef, the food does taste a bit different. Overall the food was great but usually my steak is more charred which I prefer.
Angela had the grouper and loved it. Drinks (wine) were very good but the pour a little cheap considering the price..Two large parties of a dozen or more made the Covid spacing inadequate..We were on time for our reservation but our table was not ready..My filet would have been better without the cheese dressing. Nice piece of meat...We live in the neighborhood (Troon) and we shall return..Maitre de and waiter were both great..
