Our party of three was seated next to a noisy table of 12. No other tables available. We ordered two paella’s, one lobster and one veggie. Very small amounts of lobster and almost no vegetables in the other. After questioning server they brought a small bowl of lobster. We also ordered peppers and potatoes dishes and shrimp. Service was ok but nothing to write home about. All in all not a good value.
Totally impressed. The tomato dish was subpar because of the tasteless tomato’s. I know there are good ones available now. They should not have offered the dish. Very creative cuisine and service was perfect.
We went to celebrate an anniversary. We were guests at the resort which made it very convenient. The food was outstanding with lots of fresh local vegetables and other ingredients. Service was excellent. Attentive but not over bearing. It’s at the Four Seasons so expect to spend a lot of $. Good wine list and amazing views and ambiance. Great for a special occasion.
Josh and Mira were great!
We dined at Talavera for our anniversary and it was a truly special evening. The patio dining had stunning views from North Scottsdale looking down over the Valley of the Sun. As the sun was setting the changing light made you notice something different every time you looked out over the Valley. We were seated next to the fire on the patio which was nice for the chilly desert evening. The service was attentive and friendly, but non-intrusive. The food was amazing! The Spanish flavors took me back to a trip to Barcelona, and everything we had was cooked perfectly. Every plate left the table empty. We opted to share a plate of tomatoes on bread (Spanish style bruschetta) and Iberico ham before our entrees. The fish and chicken entrees were delicious, and the portion sizes were just right so we have room for dessert, which was definitely worth having. It was a perfect evening!
Perfect Anniversary celebration. Appetizers of Grilled Radicchio and Baby Beets were a great way to begin without ruining our appetites. Paella de Mariscos and Seared Scallops were standout entrees. Churros were the best we’ve ever had! Service was outstanding.
Wonderful evening! Everything was perfect, from the patio seating, to the view, the service and the food & wine. Menu was delicious and creative. I highly suggest the filet. Would come back again if ever in Scottsdale for sure!
While the view is still amazing they have ruined this restaurant. Restaurant was remodeled, changed theme, changed menu, and hiked up prices substantially which is really saying something considering it is a Four Seasons. Used to be one of our favorites.
Good meal, wonderful service and lovely outdoor setting. Beautiful views! Worth the price!
We enjoy dining here several times a year, as we live nearby. Not living the new decor, and the place is noisy now with so many more seats. Food and service still excellent. Removing so many options from the bar menu =fewer visits for us in the future , I’m afraid.
Anniversary
Food was very delicious, great service and view was beautiful and romantic.
Great food, beautiful views. I would definitely go back.
I have dined at Talavera before the change in menu and loved the cuisine and the atmosphere. I was extremely disappointed after dining there most recently with the food and the remodel. This was to be a special event celebrating my daughter and there was absolutely nothing other than salad that appealed to us. The venue is no longer upscale. I will never dine there again.
My husband and I had been semi-regulars at Talavera for nearly 10 years. Sadly, tonight was our final visit due to the recent changes. It's no longer a pretty restaurant after the remodel. It used to remind me of an upgraded San Diego Prado. Now it's average looking and the chair was so uncomfortable I wan't able to relax at all. The other diners are now the sort of people who openly ridicule others while in their presence. One young woman stared me down and when my husband got up to go to the bathroom I wondered if she might try to pick a fight, though I'm 30 years her senior. We paid $212 for unimpressive food. The steaks were still great but we would consider going back to Talavera a waste of money now. It's very very sad, especially for the restaurant because these young people they're courting are fickle, even if it is easy to use them to make money.
Outstanding in every way! the chef brings a special touch to the flavours of Spain,.
Easter brunch, food good but breadth of buffet significantly less. Than last year
Came to Talavera for Easter Brunch. Pros: Beautiful hotel, dining with lovely views, friendly staff. Food presented beautifully. Cons: Understaffed parking valets, made for a chaotic arrival/departure. Service was terrible. Our waiter came to greet us, brought drinks, and did not return until we paid the bill. Food was ok, but not exceptional. Desserts were tasteless. Biggest CON: Got sick from the meal!!! Intestinal distress 1/2 hour after eating, that lasted 24 hours, including an agonizing flight home. Beware of buffet events. Watched staff member replace tray of cheese and put old cheese on top with his fingers, using no gloves.
I really enjoyed the brunch at Talavera. The views were fantastic, food was good and the service was top notch.
Fabulous service and meal. Manager was wonderful making sure our night was perfect, as was our server. Only downside is that they no longer make the little frying pans with homemade bread....something that brought us back regularly.
Excellent in all respects
Service was friendly and efficient so our server made the evening more enjoyable
Excellent service, great drinks, great setting. very romantic
Appetizers and starters were delicious but veal chop came out cold and no taste first time, second time reheated and third time not quite as cold but still tasteless. Cost not comparable with quality of veal.
They changed the menu 2 weeks before our reservation and both items we had been looking forward to were no longer on the menu. They should have updated the menu on open table app. We would not have wasted our time if we knew.
Really disappointed..Have celebrated birthdays at Talavera for the past 10 years and this one just didn't live up. A welcome birthday acknowledgement was given by the hostess as well as Sam our server. But even chain restaurants offer a birthday dessert or a special candy something......not that we needed the sugar but SOMETHING. This is the Four Seasons after all. In addition, the paella did not live up to expectations. The tuna appetizer and beef tartare were VERY good. The NY stip steak was also very good.
Beautiful dining room, overpriced a la carte menu, table location very ordinary, could have put us in better location.
Outstanding!
Outside bar service fun, dinner outside was very good- service Josh outstanding, food 4 1/2 stars, ambiance 4 1/2 stars
We visit Talavera when in the phoenix area. They have transition to a tapas menu, and we enjoyed this. The most of the dishes we tried were excellent, although the paella was a little disappointing.
It was my husbands 60th Birthday and everything was perfect!
Talavera is a great option for anyone in Scottsdale to come visit. We were able to sit outside on the patio and the views of sunset were spectacular! When it cooled down a bit they had plenty of heaters to keep us warm (this was in March). They have a unique and eclectic menu that combines Spanish cuisine with a steakhouse feel. I would recommend several of the tapas and starters as well as the steaks and paella.
Amazing experience. Sam, our server, made the evening a delight. Extensive wine list, great craft cocktails, thorough supply of liquors- and that was even before the food, which was a culinary delight.
We live in Michigan and will be looking forward to coming back to enjoy our experience again.
Special cocktails need to be offered with something other than.gin Entree
Menu is a little heavy on the steaks Need a few more innovative offeringd
Excellent food and service, lovely view
Our visit this time was a major disappointment. We found the prices extremely high and the food undeserving of the price. Some dishes require an hour preparation time and what we did have was in many cases undistinguished. In particular the paella dishes were very ordinary and overpriced. The room itself is lovely and views wonderful but they can't make up for the disappointing dining experience.
Great new menu. Spanish oriented. Paella was outstanding.
great view and ambiance. wonderful place for a romantic dinner outside.
An amazing dinner with phenomenal views of Pinnacle Peak. Spectacular food.
This was our first time at Talavera for our anniversary. It was excellent in EVERY way! We will definitely be back and recommend it. Thank you!
