La comida divina, volvería en cualquier momento!
Third time I go for business lunch and love it more with each visit! Guac is amazing and the ceviche is perfect! Margaritas - perfection! Cheers!!
While some aspects of our meal were okay, others were disappointing. Dishes are a bit odd. When you order enchiladas enmoladas, you get three chicken enchiladas with mole poblano sauce. These were good, but no rice or beans or other accompaniment. My friend ordered refried beans on the side with her red enchiladas and the waitress never brought them. My other friend didn't like his order, a luncheon salad. This restaurant isn't terrible, but there's just something off about it. I've been here before and felt this way before, but thought I'd give it another try. I think I'm done...
Outstanding service, very good food, although the mole poblano wasn’t as good as the cochinita. Price of drinks is on the high side but glad we have a chance to get Mezcal margaritas.
Amazingly beautiful!!! The guacamole was delicious! The manager was professional and kind. The ambiance was just perfect!
Lovely experience at Talavera, the margaritas , Cochinita Pibil, cilantro soup and nopal cactus salad were amazing as usual, service was excellent.
The ambiance was boisterous and fun - yet appropriate for an elegant restaurant. The margaritas were delicious and not overly sweet. Bussers were attentive, bringing water and chips out quickly. Would have been nice for them to describe the sauces. Service was not very good at all. The server mentioned that chicken quesadillas were a good kids menu item but then balked when I asked if we could have the chicken outside of the quesadilla. Not a difficult request - not asking for extra, just put it on the side. Also, the huarache was served cold and very dry. I'm so glad I returned it b/c when I got a fresh version of the dish, it was delicious and I highly recommend it. Desserts - we had the crepes and the cheesecake -- were both excellent. Would be nice if they had more than one flavor of paleta available. Overall, the price was a bit high especially considering the poor plate that was served to me at first. Not sure if I would go back again on my own.
The restsurant provides great Mexican cuisine and excellent margaritas.
They also have very tasty guacamole and a great queso fundido
Their caramel flan fir dessert is to die for.
Was looking for a moderate priced restaurant with ambience. It hit all the marks. We are outside on a cobblestone walkway. Great margaritas, great skirt steak. Walkable to the miracle mile. Would recommend.
Excellent authentic Mexican food with outstanding service. Although high noise level, our round table of 6 could still hear each other. Highly recommend it.
All three of us really enjoyed our dinners. Excellent flavors, superb preparation. I'd go back happily. Very dark eating outside--that's the only negative...had to read menu via cell phone light...but by the end of our dinner the arcade lights went on and solved that problem.
Christian at the bar was excellent.
Great food ! Very Nice people! You must go!
Everything was delicious. Ceviche was a little spicy but yummy. Our group ate 3 appetizers, 2 entrees and 3 desserts. Everything was good.
Excellennt service, outdoor dinning we really like, we really recommend this restaurant. Very good mexican food and great Margaritas
The Carnitas tacos 🌮 were great ! Will be back , Love Mexican food
I love going to Talavera. The food is amazing and the staff is great. Very attentive and friendly environment. Great happy hour menu and the cocktails are fantastic.
Authentic Mexican food at a good price. Interesting new twist on traditional dishes. Excellent service in a clean environment! A must have is the Queso Fundido!
Pleasant experience and the food was excellent.
The service was really slow and we sat waiting on refills for our drinks, chips, etc. Our waiter was never around and always sitting around talking with other staff. The Octopus dish that we’ve had before which was originally a nice big size was now nothing more than the size of an appetizer with no side dish to help fill you up. I would have to consider hard about going back. Service and quality has definitely gone down.
Excellent Mexican food in a sophisticated atmosphere. Excellently prepared margaritas and other cocktails.
I reserved a booth table not near the restrooms in a reservation I made 2 days prior to the Birthday dinner I was having there. When arriving 15 minutes early to the reservation on a Saturday night, our reservation requests were completely ignored by the hostess who did not even make attempts to accommodate us as customers. She was reluctant to help and did not even offer us any food or drinks as courtesy for the inconvenience. We proceeded to wait for 30 minutes past our reservation time for a booth to open up as requested.
When making a reservation, Talavera is very inconsiderate of your requests and even ignores them. The hostess was rude, unapologetic, and lazy.
Other than that the food was delicious and our waitress was great.
This was the first time I visited this restaurant but my friends' had been there before. We ordered soup and appetizers. The soup arrived within minutes of ordering, before we even received our drinks, and it was lukewarm. A few minutes after our soups arrived, the appetizers were brought. It felt like we were being rushed the entire time. We even asked the server to hold off on the appetizers as there was no room on the table, and he advised that he had to bring the food as the kitchen requested. All of the food items were spicy, even the soup. It was a disappointment overall.
The major problem is that we came for a quiet family conversation. When we arrived there was a loud band going table-to-table. We asked about it and were told the music would end in 15 minutes, so we stayed. The music did not end. We could not have the conversation we needed to have. We were very disappointed. There is nothing wrong with having music, but we should have been accurately informed about the fact that it would continue for a long time.
While probably just short of “fine dining”, Talavera delivers upscale Mexican, with very fresh ingredients. The service is quick, helpful and friendly.
Went there Christmas night. No wait. Unfortunately was served by the bartender who was a lovely combination of rude, incompetent and ignorant. Started with ordering a Guacamole appetizer off the menu. He asked if I wanted a small or large one. Since I was by myself I figured small was fine. He neglected to mentioned that "small" was not an appetizer but rather a side dish, hence no tortilla, etc. When I asked where was the tortilla the response was basically, "that's what you ordered". When I explained the flaw in his logic the tortilla' s eventually (10 minutes) showed up.. Main course shows up but I was out of my soft drink. Took my glass to the bar. (i was at at table in the bar area.) Asked for a refill. I was near the gun. Said he would bring it to me. Should have been a warning as the gun was nearby. Drink never showed up. When I went back and mentioned I wanted the refill now. He told me I was rude. At that point paid the tab though I had eaten literally one bite of the stake and left. Learned my lesson. Fire the moron!
Really liked the margaritas, but not too impressed with the food and the server forgot our appetizer nad later realized I as charged.
My third time here - and it gets better every time. The standard margarita was as good as I have ever had in Mexico. My bill ended up much lower than I expected too, given very reasonable prices for good wines (half of what a nearby restaurant charges for it cheapest bottle). Queso fundido con chorizo is divine.
I've been to this restaurant before, the food is usually good but pricey. On this trip the service was not great, our waiter barely checked on us, we had empty plated and glasses for a while before he came by and we had to ask him to refill or clear up for us. One of our party said the ceviche tasted like it was from a can but they changed her plate without issue. It's a nice location and drinks are good but not sure if it would be my go to place.
Service has declined. Good was OK.
We were staying at the nearby Hyatt and wanted somewhere within an easy walk. On Sunday evening it was a bit quiet but that was fine and we enjoyed.
Great service and our waiter was awesome!
Great guacamole. Tasty ceviche. Octopus tacos and enchiladas were disappointing. Service was terrible at 6:00 on a Saturday night.
Everything was great. Guacamole was really good. The kids had the taquitos (which they loved). Pulled Pork and Ceviche were very good. Would definetly recommend.
Overall, very good. Have been there several times before and we love the consistency of food and service. However, we forgot about the live music on Wednesdays....Very loud live music. Not conducive for conversation
Good food; good service; great for the locals. Layout of restaurant could be a bit better. Hard to see performers when there are special events.
Regular diners since Talaver opened, we have watched a steady deterioration over time. It isn’t the restaurant it once was. Speculations as to why would make this review needlessly long, but it feels like Talavera has become the barely tolerated stepchild of the Jaguar group. The owners are rarely if ever there, they have had a parade of managers, and the menu has shrunk. It’s as if nobody’s “running the ship”, and no one cares. C’mon Lalu and Sergio! You had a good thing going. Restore it to its previous excellence.
Everything was delicious, and live mariachis a plus.
Plesase bring back the Filet Don Guillermo to the menu.
Nothing special to mention, positive or negative, about the place. This was the second time I have dinner there, and probably the last one. I was not surprised by the food, the service or the ambiance. A dull experience, many other better options in Miami.
