Talavera Cocina Mexicana
This genuine and refined Mexican spirit of the Talavera art sets the ground for the spirit of our menu. From the "Huarache" grill, a series of delicate dishes served on a corn tortilla base, to a variety of regional specialties from Sonora to Oaxaca, from Michoacan to Puebla, from Jalisco to Yucatan.
Talavera, the art of a genuine and refined taste of Mexico.

Very bad experience, the service was horrendous, not attentive. Bad quality on the products. Small plastic spoons on the table for the salsas. They run out of some dishes but they don’t tell you before, at least will be good giving heads up once you receive the menu not after you make some choices. Not worth it.
We had to wait up front by front door for almost 10 minutes until anyone came to help us...front desk was unattended and lost of people were waiting. When maitre’d did show up, she was very disinterested and slow. Service was just as bad once we were seated. Server didn’t show up until we were seated for 10 minutes and was completely inattentive during meal. Very disappointed by service overall!!! Severe training needed by management.
Talavera never disappoints! Love the food. The only complaint is that they never have enough chocolate paletas which are amazing!
Love the Mexican cuisine at Talavera. The Margaritas and chips and salsas are delicious.
Service is terrific too.
Wonderful food excellent , Strip steak tender my friends and I can’t wait to go back Live in wpb took brightline and Uber to Taverna it was worth it
We took some family from out-of-town to Talavera. Although we arrived late for our reservation we were seated right away. The waiter was outstanding, the food fresh and delicious . This is not your ordinary Mexican restaurant. The menu offerings are high-end, creative and authentic. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, lingering over the queso fundido and delicate tortilla wraps that accompanied it. We will be back for sure.
Talavera Cocina has authentic food served in an excellent location. The ingredients were fresh and nothing was too salty; a common complaint I have with Mexican restaurants. We will be back.
Perfect, table requested, the service and food excellent! lively watching World Cup and Mexico won !!! Fathers Day memories shared with my mom!
Outstanding meal and service! And Mexico won against Germany !! #worldcup2018
The food was very good and the location is great to walk in the Miracle Mile.
Overall great restaurant. Service was a bit slow and inattentive that night but food quality and taste was great!
This restaurant is, at best, unremarkable. The service was poor overall, because waiters were far too eager to take orders, not allowing us sufficient time to consider the menu. None of our group of 6 was favorably impressed with the quality of the food, and all of us normally enjoy Mexican food — otherwise we would have selected a different restaurant. And even though 5 of our group chose items from the “Coral Gables Restaurant Week” menu, the overall cost was rather high.
Enjoyed the chill Friday night vibe to have a casual meal with friends. Ambitious Margarita is delicious, as are the Ceviche Tostada and Chicken Flautas.
Overall a wonderful experience! Food is authentic! Service is exceptional!
I ordered the carne asada, termino medio. It arrive late, and dried out. The tortilla with mole was a cracker. The service was indifferent. I usually enjoy this restaurant. But it was a great disappointment Sunday. The waiter didn’t care. I ordered dessert and an espresso. The espresso was served first, and 15 minutes later the dessert was served. They can do much better.
I was on a business trip and Talavera was chosen because of the cuisine offered. I will offer that the food was quite good. However, the space is loud to begin with and, for whatever reason, the restaurant thought it was appropriate to have a mariachi band. This pushed the noise level way over the top and made the overall experience feel very cheap. The presence of the band also interfered with service. As the band would mingle around the space, servers would often wait for the band to move on before returning to a table. I would consider returning if I knew there was no chance of the band being present.
El servicio deja mucho que desear.
We love the quality of food , service and music 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Great restaurant!! Food and service was fantastic!! Everything we tried from the appetizer (guacamole with fried pork skins) to the entrees (octopus, carne asada and pork belly mole) was so delicious!! You must try the cilantro margarita!Actually try any margaritas, they were all fantastic. My only negative critique was the restroom. The restroom could have been more cleaner. It was dark and not pleasing to the eye.
Great service and food delicious 5 stars
Consistent. Delicious food, Terrific service, Best Ambitious Margaritas
Good Mexican food in Coral Gables. Last visit they were off their game. Took 20 min to get waited on and only after I got up from the table to seek out the manager. I'll give them another chance as this has been my go-to Mexican for the last 5 years. You all need to do a better job at recognizing your regular customers. Thanks
We liked the restaurant so much we went twice in our 3-day visit to Coral Gables. Good margaritas and excellent ceviche. We would definitely go back.
Outdoor seating is very pleasant. Excellent drinks!
Autentic mexican food, great enviroment !!! all you can. eat on Weds
Talavera USED to be upscale Mexican cuisine, no longer.
Food tasteless as if it was Sysco Restaurant Supply food out of a can or bag. Even the sauces were without flavor or zing. Prices have also increased probably due to make up for the Giralda construction, last minute thought to have a late lunch here, no improvement and won’t be back. Not authentic Mexican food anymore, with many other restaurants in the Gables, skip Talavera.
Our go to place for authentic, delicious Mexican food and excellent margaritas. Comfortable and the service was great.
Service and food quality are going downhill.
Unusually bad service, waiter apparently forgot to put in order, when we complained, he blamed the kitchen. Staff starting pulling plates and placemats away while others were still eating. Seems they were rushing
Very tasty Mexican food
Great food and service. Love the outside patio.
Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere for the entire family. I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant. Definitely will return when I back in Miami.
La comida divina, volvería en cualquier momento!
Third time I go for business lunch and love it more with each visit! Guac is amazing and the ceviche is perfect! Margaritas - perfection! Cheers!!
While some aspects of our meal were okay, others were disappointing. Dishes are a bit odd. When you order enchiladas enmoladas, you get three chicken enchiladas with mole poblano sauce. These were good, but no rice or beans or other accompaniment. My friend ordered refried beans on the side with her red enchiladas and the waitress never brought them. My other friend didn't like his order, a luncheon salad. This restaurant isn't terrible, but there's just something off about it. I've been here before and felt this way before, but thought I'd give it another try. I think I'm done...
Outstanding service, very good food, although the mole poblano wasn’t as good as the cochinita. Price of drinks is on the high side but glad we have a chance to get Mezcal margaritas.
Amazingly beautiful!!! The guacamole was delicious! The manager was professional and kind. The ambiance was just perfect!
Lovely experience at Talavera, the margaritas , Cochinita Pibil, cilantro soup and nopal cactus salad were amazing as usual, service was excellent.
The ambiance was boisterous and fun - yet appropriate for an elegant restaurant. The margaritas were delicious and not overly sweet. Bussers were attentive, bringing water and chips out quickly. Would have been nice for them to describe the sauces. Service was not very good at all. The server mentioned that chicken quesadillas were a good kids menu item but then balked when I asked if we could have the chicken outside of the quesadilla. Not a difficult request - not asking for extra, just put it on the side. Also, the huarache was served cold and very dry. I'm so glad I returned it b/c when I got a fresh version of the dish, it was delicious and I highly recommend it. Desserts - we had the crepes and the cheesecake -- were both excellent. Would be nice if they had more than one flavor of paleta available. Overall, the price was a bit high especially considering the poor plate that was served to me at first. Not sure if I would go back again on my own.
