As we walked in for our reservation, there was an argument going on between the cook and what appeared to be every other employee. Great start!!
Got seated, menus, & water. Drinks took quite a while. Food came out slow, but there was a large party getting served. Food was awesome. Somehow the arguing cook & the rest of the crew manage to put out a great product.
The live music, singing, and a belly dancer made it well worth enduring the worst service we have experienced in years.
Served 10 people graciously and efficiently. Very clean and best Greek food outside of Greece we have eaten.
Great place for Saturday night Greek food and music.
Excellent food every time we visit. Great little neighborhood place.
We like this place - It's not fancy, but the food is good. We like most Mediterranean/Greek/Middle Eastern food, so we are always on the look out for another place to try. We've been here a few times.
Great appetizer choices. Have the "real" Greek salad with your entree. We always order too much and take some home - "planned overs". Good soup & Good desert pastries!
Food is always fresh and good. Waitress is always personable and fun
Saturday night dinner. There was live music and belly dancing. The entire experience was a lot of fun! Plan to stay a few hours. You'll enjoy it.
We love Taki's any time of day! The food is amazingly fresh and delicious and reasonably priced to boot! Taki and Kikie are the best as are all others we've encountered. We've been for lunch, dinner and twice celebrated birthdays with them and they're wonderful! The music and dancing is wonderful and a nice accompaniment to the fab food! If you don't know what to order, ask Kikie. She'll take care of you.
Check out the mousaka and the mave wine
Overall the food was good, but it was a little noisy. I prefer it not to be as noisy as Taki's Mad Greek. Service was a little slow as well.
Authentic in both food and ambiance, not fancy but very charming, a real taste (literal and figurative) of Greek hospitality.
We happened to be in the downtown Seattle area and my wife happened to want Greek food so we happened upon Taki's with a Bing search. It's a nice, friendly, family-owned place but with the downscale ambience of an ordinary gyro place, pretty drab. It's smallish, maybe 10 tables evenly spaced through a longish dining room. The food, however, was really good from the appetizers to the main lamb course to the baklava, particularly for the price. VERY reasonable. The entertainment--a belly dancer and live Greek music--was a ton of fun. Taki himself played some sort of Greek stringed instrument with tremendous skill, another family member sang, and the staff led some dances among the more willing customers. Fun, tasty, easy on the wallet.
Fresh and not salty the most wonderful mousaka ever
Excellent food as always, great suggestions from our waitress
While the food was delicious, the mother of the server and probably owner spent our entire meal cursing out loud about us and other patrons because she didn't like the table we chose when they told us to sit anywhere, when other people came in without reservations when the place was empty, and a patron noted that their food was cold. Sensing her obvious frustration, we offered to move twice but each time she rolled her eye and continued tomove furniture around us, actually pinning me into my seat. The appetizer we got was delicious but because I felt so uncomfortable due to the constant cursing and rantings of the woman, we took our main meal to go. The service was incredibly slow too. I will stick with the nice folks at Mr. Gyro.
Loved the food, ambiance perfect. We will be back and bring friends soon.
Fun, lively atmosphere. Wait staff engaging and entertaining. Felt welcomed. Thoroughly enjoyed the Greek music and belly dancing. Food was excellent and moderately priced.
Best Gyros in town if you ask me! Just LOADED with DELICIOUS meat and tsaziki, and wrapped in a soft warm pita. Their other food is great too, but we keep going back for those gyros! This time we also tried the fries with oregano - also delicious! Taki is a dear. The place is nothing fancy - it's a nice little ethnic restaurant that is delicious but not particularly lovely inside, though clean and decorated to the culture.
Taki's has been recommended by many friends and we were not disappointed. The food is excellent and a very good value. It is a family-run place and they are very welcoming to guests. The family-run nature of the business adds charm but don't expect organized service the way you may experience at a chain restaurant.....servers stop to chat with customers and the kitchen sometimes gets out of sequence, so your food will most likely come out slowly. On the other hand, they recognize when they are being slow, and oftentimes just show up at your table with an unordered appetizer and an apology, so enjoy the charm of the place and don't go there if you're in a rush. Reservations are not needed unless you go on a Saturday for the live music.
We were here on a night when they have live entertainment and belly dancing, so it was a lot of fun, but very loud. The food was really delicious. I don't eat meat and had the falafel plate, which in some restaurants tends to be dry; not here, it was moist and flavorful. My husband had the chicken souvlaki and it was also delicious. Portions are huge; we had leftovers, which is a bonus.
