Had to ask for a drink menu on Valentines day, and there was some confusion on the part of the waiter on where to get one, you should put that right on top of every menu. Couple sitting next too us had the same experience. Feel like that's a missed opportunity for sales on your part. The Mai Tai drinks I ordered were outstanding when they did come. Also Hibachi grill vegetables were a under cooked for my taste. Everything else was great. I would recommend it.

I had 7 PM reservations with my wife and child for a hibachi dinner. When we arrived on time, nobody was at the front hostess desk, and we waited for several minutes along with a few others that arrived. The bartender could see us, but didn't seem to care, and the place was not busy at all. We stood there for several awkward minutes before someone came over. This was not a good first impression.

We were taken back to a hibachi section and seated in a section of the room that was very dim compared to the others, as though a number of lights were out or turned off. Here we waited -- a lot. Initial service was very slow (and not particularly inviting) for drinks, soup, salad, etc. A second party of 3 was eventually seated at our hibachi and we waited for their initial orders and soup and salads to be consumed, too. Our hibachi chef finally arrived 50 minutes after we were seated. Our child's first hibachi experience started off very rough.

Once the chef got started, things went well and his efforts and food were good. Our child enjoyed it and later spoke of doing it more often. Our server forgot to bring two of us our steamed rice until near the end of our meal. She eventually noticed it, and nicely did not charge us for a couple other items from our order to make up for it. So the 3 of us ate for $60 before tip, which was unexpected.

We don't have a lot of hibachi options nearby, factoring in traffic, but next time we will try a different place. It seems like it is hit or miss at so many such places these days...

Had a reservation for 8, didnt get seated until 9:15. Although they gave us a free drink for the mixup, the cook never got to out table until 9:45. Unacceptable! From the looks of the waiting room, we werent the only ones having that issue. The restaurant allowed people to book reservations on top of other reservations. The food was nothing to brag about either. Wont be coming back!

Fun to have dinner and a show at the same time! I also like sitting with people I don't know; everybody was in a good mood and ready to enjoy the night. But if you don't like sitting with strangers, book a full party.

I have been to Taki 3-4 times in the past and it was always good. Our food was delicious! This time the service was HORRIBLY slow. After being seated, we waited 30 minutes before anyone showed up to take some orders. A few of had special food restrictions which we told to our server. When the food arrived, they only remembered ‘some’ of these things. I believe there was a language barrier. While eating, no one ever cleared away empty, dirty bowls. They just sat there. After the chef cleaned the grill, they proceeded to turn on some vent blowing FREEZING cold air on our table. Some of us were still eating and our food was instantly cold! The girl had no idea how to turn this off! A woman in our group finally turned off the switch! After eating, we waited a minimum of 30 minutes and no one brought us our checks. Someone from our table finally went to ask for our checks and they eventually came - 40 minutes total. I don’t know what has happened to their service! The food was good and the chef was experienced. I hope they fix up the service. I did talk to the manager on the way out and he blamed it on the way the reservations worked out. I have no idea what that means!

We have been enjoying and recommending Taki for many years but I have no idea what has happened to this restaurant but our recent experience was terrible from the service to the food. I will not be recommending Taki in the future, in fact, I'm not sure we will be returning. I don't know if this has to do with recent management changes or what but the service was very disorganized and we had to repeat a lot plus it was as if we were rushing through ordering and dining. Not a good experience.

Just found them to be off their game. Service was slow, the food was prepared at the Hibachi with a lot more salt than usual. Unfortunate because we really liked the place before.

Buen ambiente familiar. Siempre se disfruta la preparación de la comida. Se puede solicitar cualquier cosa al chef. Pidan los vegetables de primeto, no sólo quedan mejor cosidos sino también se disfruta más el plato fuerte

Unfortunately, we weren’t seated until 7:30 (our reservation was at 6:30) and we were around such rude customers that the whole experience was a little bit of a bummer. Alas, good food and good service!

No where near the quality this restaurant used to be a few years ago. Everything has declined dramatically. The service is poor, the food is mediocre, the entertainment value of the hibachi chef is dismal, and the management hovers around your table fishing for compliments.

We love Japanese food and have just moved to the area when we decided to try this Japanese place out. The food was good, the portions plenty but the service was horrible. They had mistakenly given us a lunch drink menu where the prices were cheaper. We did not know this. When given our bill we asked that we ordered our drinks because they were a certain price, not what was on the tab. The manager came over and fought me on it and then made me go through all of the drink menus to find the one lunch menu that I had looked at. It was ridiculous! What happened to the customer is always right? Terrible service and management, would not recommend.

Unfortunately the food was great but the service was very bad. Our chief who made the food was great and I have no complaints about him. However, our server was incompetent and didn’t know how to split a cheque. Food was overpriced but that’s what you get at habachi too bad the service was smelly.

Our server was great for lunch. He was funny, orders were great and portions were very good. He was as entertaining as other Hibachi cooks- though we did not get the 'onion volcano' I am used to (maybe that is a dinner item). Prices ere very good for Hibachi- from 10-17.

This was my first visit to Taki. When my husband and I arrived, we had to wait about 5 minutes before we were greeted and it was clear they were not busy. After we were seated, we were greeted promptly by our server who took our drink orders. My drink was brought out promptly, but my husband had to wait 20 minutes before his was brought to him (and all he ordered was an old fashion). Our food was brought out promptly and was fabulous. We both ordered from the hibachi menu. While the service was off just a bit, I can recommend this restaurant and would definitely try again.

We went for my mom's birthday. We went on a Saturday at 145pm. We got seated right away.
The chef was very entertaining and funny. The food was really tasty and satisfying. The soup was hot the salad was fresh. I had shrimp and steak that was cooked perfectly. I would go back. The only draw back was the table was up high and the chairs were low. If you are short it will feel kind of awkward. But I still had a wonderful time. My mom and my sis enjoyed themselves too.

Staff was amazingly accommodating. We have special dietary needs, and they really went out of their way to be sure everyone was included in the dining experience. And they were helpful and upbeat the whole evening. The hibachi chef was quite good, friendly and funny, and the food was delicious. Overall a great experience.

We had lousy service from the minute we walked in the door - with a reservation. We eventually left without eating- after the manager was rude and fought with us. We had eaten here a number of times in the past with no problems. But the manager that night as well as one of the hosts were rude and condescending and not accommodating at all. I will never come back here - service is lousy and for the price you are paying - a lot - you should be able to expect good service. I will never recommend this restaurant. Go to Happy Sumo in Dunwoody instead - you will find much better food, service and overall ambiance at Happy Sumo.

This was our first time visiting Taki. Our server was very friendly, and we appreciated her honesty in letting us know that she was new. Though she was sincere, and we felt that she was trying, she made several mistakes in taking our orders that resulted in our meals having to be returned multiple times until they got the orders correct. We ordered a combination of sushi, sashimi and tempura. The sashimi was cut awkwardly - thicker than normal, and in small chunks as opposed to slices. The tempura was good - crisp, though a bit on the greasy side. Also, we were looking forward to the tempura entree, but only received the smaller tempura appetizer due to another service oversight. Having just moved to Sandy Springs, we wanted this to be our new "sushi place", but we will have to keep looking...

Celebrated my son's birthday here but there was zero acknowledgement from the staff- including the hibachi chef and server. The chef seemed in a rush to get out of there and barely put on a show. We went out of our way to go to Taki because we've enjoyed it many times before- but we spent over $400 and had our worst experience yet. Don't think we'll be back!

I have visited this restaurant several times, and always enjoyed the food. The wait staff is always courteous and very accommodating. The only issue I have is them adding gratuities in the bill, and not verbally letting the customer know this. I know it's the customer's responsibility to read the bill before signing it. However, when you are there with a group and celebrating an occasion, you tend to not pay that close attention to the charges on the bill. This happened to us on Saturday night. A group of six of us were there to celebrate my nephew's 17th birthday. When the bill came, we overlooked the fact gratuities were included, paid the bill with a credit card, and added another $60.00 in cash with for gratuities. So on an approximate $250.00 bill, the gratuities totaled approximate $110.00.
