Britney was our server. She was super helpful, and gave great recommendations. Was able to explain the dishes and let us know what to expect. The place was beautiful and presentation was gorgeous.
We have been doing an annual dinner here for years when we come to LA. We order a few starters for the table and then tell our server to have the Chefs chose what to send us. It becomes a culinary adventure without California Rolls. Food keeps coming until we say stop. Servers have always been pretty good at gauging when we are getting full. Food has been outstanding and our highlight dinner of the year.
Went for a pre show dinner for my birthday. Ended up sitting in the lounge bar area and ordered off the happy hour menu. Food and drinks were great for the money. Would definitely come back again.
The hostesses at the front door were extremely rude and standoffish when we arrived. We were not asked if we wanted a table outside or inside and were seated at a table without a heater on it in January, so naturally, we were freezing. The food was OUTRAGEOUSLY priced and have extremely small portions. The ramen was cold when it arrived and only had a spoonful of noodles in it. The sushi was average, but for the price, it was horrible. By far the WORST dining experience we had on our entire trip.
This is one of our favorite places in the city for a fine dining sushi experience.
Prime LA location and amazing views of downtown It’s a shame the staff is poorly trained and a bit pretentious, right off the start with the hostess.
Food is ok, predictable sushi and rolls. Disappointed on crispy rice tuna appetizer. The crispy rice was over done and cold. So much potential for this place in prime real state. I hope the staff is better trained is hospitality and guest services, I’d love to come back.
Great place to eat
New Year’s Eve , no complaints about the drinks or the food. Ambience was great. Food was delivered promptly, everyone was polite. I was surprised that I was not offered water till the end of my meal when I asked for it. It was never refilled. The part that makes this experience less than a five star rating here was that the server came to inform us there was a certain limit per person per reservation. In other words we had to spend a certain amount otherwise the rest would be charged as a service charge. I felt that should’ve been done early on when I made the reservation and definitely not in front of my dinner party. I felt this was really tacky. I am not questioning the why and every restaurant has a right to do and charge whatever they Like, however there’s a time and an appropriate way of doing things.
I was surprised from other reviews regarding the food is very slow. We went on New Year’s Eve so the place was packed but the food came out pretty fast. As a matter of fact, one of the sushi roll was on our table about 5 minutes.
The only concern I have was they did not tell us there was minimum of $300 for 5 people and 20% service charge was mandatory. For the service they provided, I would tip 20% anyway just I like it to be disclosed. Will definitely come again.
Because it was New Year’s Eve, they were very busy. There was also an amount minimum you had to meet, with a gratuity already added to the check. Unfortunately, because of this, the service was pretty lame. We waited so long for our drinks, we had already been served our food and were eating it, before we got the drinks, and even then, we didn’t get all of the drink order. We finally gave up on that one. The only redeeming part was the sushi, itself. But we literally had nothing to wash it down with, because there were no drinks! We asked for ginger, among other things, and stopped asking after the third time. Do not bother with their waffle churro desert. Honestly, it was two mini frozen waffles with syrup, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Really?? Just because you charge a lot of money for food, doesn’t mean you go to amateur hour. So not worth it, plus, our coffee was lukewarm. And to top it all off, their heater was not working where we were sat, so we were freezing! They were so busy, we couldn’t move to another part of the restaurant. If you’re going to have most of your seating on an outdoor patio in the winter, you should not skimp on heaters. We walked away from the experience SO disappointed. Best to go on a regular night without the high set price and added gratuity with the excuse it’s a holiday to do it. I have always loved this place, for the food, service, and ambiance. All three were lacking last night. It’s fine that you’re busy, and on a holiday, I don’t expect perfect, but I expected something better than what we got. :(
Ambiance and food were truly fantastic. Downfall is that the service was VERY slow. Took 30 minutes to get soft drinks and to take our actual food order.
Love this place
Excellent. The rock shrimp appetizer was fantastic. We went on a Sunday and had a good bottle of sake 50% off.
Some will say you're paying for the ambiance, and they may be correct to some extent. I, however, enjoyed my entire visit. Drinks were delicious and the food was great. Dinner was early so it wasn't too noisy. Service was great from the hostess to the waitress. Overall my date and I had a great evening. Will definitely revisit.
Our first experience was fenomenal, my wife as I went here for our anniversary dinner, and the ambiance was great, the sushi was extremely fresh, and the service was awesome! One thing we did have to wait for our sushi for 40 min. Which was kind of a bummer because we were ready to eat. We didn’t order a lot just the miso sea bass and sushi roll. We got there early 5:45, and It kind of set us back a bit since I had other things planned after dinner. It is a great place to go try and we might try again some time.
This is usually a long standing business lunch location for me. The night club arrivals were not a regular crowd. Not my cup of tea. Food was average, nothing outstanding.
This was our second visit - a post opera dinner. We took the metro but exited the wrong side and were subsequently late for our reservation. No problem. We were warmly welcomed and our reservation was honored. We were immediately greeted by our server who was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the Japanese tacos, grilled Angus steak, grilled salmon, and tempura vegetables. My husband really liked the cold Saki and I was very happy with my Pepsi. The evening was clear so the view was spectacular from the 21st floor. We will certainly come again - but it is pricey so it's not exactly a weekly hang-out. Nevertheless, the beautiful view, sleek interior, gracious and efficient waitstaff, and excellent food will bring us back from time to time.
Waiter was extremely slow and there were not that many people. I asked for a glass of water three times, the check twice and soy sauce twice as well.
Waited 15 minutes for a table even though I had a reservation. It was incredibly loud. When we were seated we never had a waiter someone different would come every time. Then, they brought the wrong food to our table 3 times. When they finally brought the right food, it was warm sushi and did not feel fresh. They had Christmas parties going on at the restaurant and they cleared cared more about the party goers than anyone dining there. When we were done eating a waiter didn’t come over for a check until 45 minutes after even though we asked several times. I could have gotten better service and food eating at a jack in the box for 1/16th of the price.
Excellent Food & Service!
Excellent service and excellent food from appetizers to desserts. We definitely recommend.
Wonderful service, great food and great ambiance. The views are fantastic.
Great service, great food and great ambience! Actually the service was EXCEPTIONAL! The food was impressive and there was something for everyone in our group. Beautiful views and a wonderful place to celebrate birthdays! Our party ranged from 11-70:)
Very pleasant restaurant experience. Will be back.
Food was great. Quiet and easy place for a group dining. Server was gone most of the time making it difficult to order more drinks. Paying at the end was a nightmare! Their “new” digital checks ruined the whole experience. Will not go back with a group.
we were secluded from everyone
Best place ever for a night with friends or a date. The best view and the food is delicious. Service and food was good as well!
We went for my birthday and the staff was accommodating and friendly. Service was prompt! I would recommend reserving tables prior.
Terrible service. Cold food. It’s like we were invisible.
This is a wonderful restaurant with great food and drink and spectacular views. After 8:00 pm the environment becomes lively and fun. I would recommend to all as this is one of my favorites.
Came here for Anniversary dinner. In a high rise with a nice view of LA at night. Food was delicious, dim lighting with a lounge vibe. Pricey of course but we'd definitely come back for special occasions only.
Lovely location, great drinks, but In my opinion the quality of the sushi was not worth the value.
This restaurant sits on the 21st floor of Los Angeles with spectacular views. The ambiance was extraordinary with the views and restaurant layout. The services was great from start to finish. The sushi quality was spot on and the dessert was a wonderful finish we had a churro style waffle with cinnamon sugar, maple syrup ala mode. We will be back again soon.
Your pretty much paying for a view. Waited for 15 minutes after being seated before we received service. It was most likely because we didn’t fit the profile of the usual people who dine at this establishment. All the service was quick after we stopped the server who had passed us over five times and asked to be served, but the energy had changed so we had left. I had just received a bonus and wanted to treat my wife to a great dinner. Might try it again another time.
Our waitress was soooo amazingly pleasant and kind. She was fast and had such a great smile.
Amazing restaurant!!!!! Everything was perfect & delicious, the ambiance was outstanding
Parents weekend at USC
We were in town for family weekend at USC and enjoyed a great dinner with family and friends
Excellent and timely service. Got a nice seat in outside patio. Food is excellent.
Terrible service on the patio. Had to ask for a fork for appetizers from 3 separate people and the food ended up being cold that’s how long it took. Then for dinner, I also asked 3 people for extra sauce for my teriyaki chicken and by the time it got there it was cold/almost done. Very stuck up service and no one cares about you
