Great place across the board, food exceptional, view hard to beat, super vibe.
Atmosphere was good. Pretty views. Food was average at best and very expensive. The service was terrible!
Good food , nice service
Coming to the restaurant is like finding a secret spot, passing drunk crowds from the club located on the same floor, entering the door that looks more like an ambulance than a restaurant - sets a bit bitter taste if you planned a nice romantic dinner. Great food and stunning views take over that 1st impression but a trip to the bathroom will quickly throw you back into that trashy vibe as restaurant shares their restrooms with the club - drunk ppl, trash in the hallway.
I probably won’t be back.
Our waitress acted like she didn’t want to be there. We waited long for everything and at one point I even had to shout to get her attention. My lady liked her 21 roll and endless summer drink, my veggie sushi roll was very plain, shishito peppers and vegetable tempura was decent.
It was great overall no complaints. Some of our food took a very long time but was expected due to how busy it was.
Service was good, I did leave a request for a window table and unfortunately did not happen. Overall experience was great, there was a lot of noice and it was hard hearing my partner since we sat at a booth that was intended for a party of 4+.
Dinner took way too long to arrive, Valentine’s Day menu was not offered as your app showed.
It was a great restaurant, my views are a little biased because we went on Valentine’s Day so it was packed. Overall great experience, some issues with the service but it wasn’t too bad.
I love this place....food is amazing...service is always great
Beautiful restaurant and views with the best sushi rolls! Service was excellent as well, highly recommend for date night!
Service was okay
Nice views, good food and service
This is a beautiful restaurant with a 21st floor view of LA. Very good sushi. No Toro the night I was there.
Food was excellent. Love the Chilean Sea Bass.
My husband and I enjoyed the evening. Service was attentive. The food was good but not over the top that we would return. Disappointed in the sushi rolls, however the sushi and hand rolls were in point.
David Romero the Manager and JJ our server were AWESOME! Thank you for the great epicurean experience. Peace
sushi and sashimi dishes were fresh, tasted great and beautifully displayed. disappointed with eggplant dish - breading was very thick, and not able to taste the eggplant. we dined on a saturday night and the restaruant had a good vibe in the bar area and dining room. if visiting downtown los angeles, highly recommend this restaurant.
Great views and great atmosphere for dining and having drinks. Both our server and the manager Sam went well beyond the normal expected service to help us resolve as issue with Living Social and their vouchers. The garlic edamame and peppers were a great start. Enjoyed some chicken and bacon wrapped grilled tomato robata's, and paired that with a nice bottle of wine. High recommend and we will definitely be back.
Really excellent sushi place in the middle of downtown Los Angeles. Edamame with garlic soy butter was delicious, Dragon Roll was great and sashimi was very fresh. They have a nice outdoor seating area that looks out over Los Angeles (it's up on the 21st floor). Definitely recommend.
Great food and atmosphere! I will definitely go back.
Great sushi! The place was packed and very energetic Saturday evening. Will be returning in the future.
Food, service and ambiance were great, but the rudeness of the hostess ruined the whole experience. The place was almost empty when we showed up (with reservations) and it still took over 20 minutes to get seated and we received snarky comments as we were lead to our table.
Took very long to get orders and bill
Food was great, but not exceptional as it's always been in the past. Everyone was very nice and service is good. And best view downtown!
Takami had great service, ambiance, and food. Phenomenal views of Los Angeles and the decor looked amazing. I would highly recommend Takami for a romantic evening on the town.
Britney was our server. She was super helpful, and gave great recommendations. Was able to explain the dishes and let us know what to expect. The place was beautiful and presentation was gorgeous.
I usually come here once or twice a year when I’m in LA. This time the experience and the service was extremely disappointing. With so many options in LA - I’ll make a different decision next time.
Service was slow. Waitress was not attentive whatsoever
We have been doing an annual dinner here for years when we come to LA. We order a few starters for the table and then tell our server to have the Chefs chose what to send us. It becomes a culinary adventure without California Rolls. Food keeps coming until we say stop. Servers have always been pretty good at gauging when we are getting full. Food has been outstanding and our highlight dinner of the year.
Went for a pre show dinner for my birthday. Ended up sitting in the lounge bar area and ordered off the happy hour menu. Food and drinks were great for the money. Would definitely come back again.
The hostesses at the front door were extremely rude and standoffish when we arrived. We were not asked if we wanted a table outside or inside and were seated at a table without a heater on it in January, so naturally, we were freezing. The food was OUTRAGEOUSLY priced and have extremely small portions. The ramen was cold when it arrived and only had a spoonful of noodles in it. The sushi was average, but for the price, it was horrible. By far the WORST dining experience we had on our entire trip.
This is one of our favorite places in the city for a fine dining sushi experience.
Prime LA location and amazing views of downtown It’s a shame the staff is poorly trained and a bit pretentious, right off the start with the hostess.
Food is ok, predictable sushi and rolls. Disappointed on crispy rice tuna appetizer. The crispy rice was over done and cold. So much potential for this place in prime real state. I hope the staff is better trained is hospitality and guest services, I’d love to come back.
Great place to eat
I was surprised from other reviews regarding the food is very slow. We went on New Year’s Eve so the place was packed but the food came out pretty fast. As a matter of fact, one of the sushi roll was on our table about 5 minutes.
The only concern I have was they did not tell us there was minimum of $300 for 5 people and 20% service charge was mandatory. For the service they provided, I would tip 20% anyway just I like it to be disclosed. Will definitely come again.
New Year’s Eve , no complaints about the drinks or the food. Ambience was great. Food was delivered promptly, everyone was polite. I was surprised that I was not offered water till the end of my meal when I asked for it. It was never refilled. The part that makes this experience less than a five star rating here was that the server came to inform us there was a certain limit per person per reservation. In other words we had to spend a certain amount otherwise the rest would be charged as a service charge. I felt that should’ve been done early on when I made the reservation and definitely not in front of my dinner party. I felt this was really tacky. I am not questioning the why and every restaurant has a right to do and charge whatever they Like, however there’s a time and an appropriate way of doing things.
Because it was New Year’s Eve, they were very busy. There was also an amount minimum you had to meet, with a gratuity already added to the check. Unfortunately, because of this, the service was pretty lame. We waited so long for our drinks, we had already been served our food and were eating it, before we got the drinks, and even then, we didn’t get all of the drink order. We finally gave up on that one. The only redeeming part was the sushi, itself. But we literally had nothing to wash it down with, because there were no drinks! We asked for ginger, among other things, and stopped asking after the third time. Do not bother with their waffle churro desert. Honestly, it was two mini frozen waffles with syrup, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Really?? Just because you charge a lot of money for food, doesn’t mean you go to amateur hour. So not worth it, plus, our coffee was lukewarm. And to top it all off, their heater was not working where we were sat, so we were freezing! They were so busy, we couldn’t move to another part of the restaurant. If you’re going to have most of your seating on an outdoor patio in the winter, you should not skimp on heaters. We walked away from the experience SO disappointed. Best to go on a regular night without the high set price and added gratuity with the excuse it’s a holiday to do it. I have always loved this place, for the food, service, and ambiance. All three were lacking last night. It’s fine that you’re busy, and on a holiday, I don’t expect perfect, but I expected something better than what we got. :(
Ambiance and food were truly fantastic. Downfall is that the service was VERY slow. Took 30 minutes to get soft drinks and to take our actual food order.
Love this place
