We were seated at a nice window view for our anniversary. The food was great (tasted so fresh). The environment was lively. The staff gave good service. I would definitely recommend this place.
The staff was nice enough to hold our reservation despite the fact that we were running late. Great place! Great staff!
Food was great! View was great!
Takami always has good food and good service.
Food is excellent. I had the Bento box with a NY Steak which was grilled just as I asked. I like the outdoor patio but the street noise coming up from from below can be intrusive.
TaKami is a very nice restaurant. The ambience is very sofisticated, and there are outside tables with a view to the LA Skyline. Prices are above average for a Japanese restaurant. Service was not so good. waiter disapearing. Dirty dishes, drinks (beer and coca cola) taking quite a while to arrive (almost 10 mins). It was a nice place but service needs to be improved. Restaurant was not even half full.
The food was average. If it wasn’t for the Groupon deal, I probably wouldn’t have gone. The price is quite high for the quality of food. Nice view though!
Excellent service, food was great.
Everything was great! The atmosphere was really good, the food is amazing and the service was the best
Takami is a true gem. The sushi is incredibly delicious, the drinks are varied and inventive, and the view is spectacular. Add in friendly and professional service, and you have the perfect place for a fantastic meal and great night out!
It had been a long time since I took myself and my date to such a nice place. A bit pricey for me so I won't go often but my time there was worth it. My date and I enjoyed a open window table with a great view. The staff was wonderful and attentive. Exceptional in every regard. We really enjoyed Andrew, the GM, as he was making rounds checking on his guests. We got him to stop again at our table and we shared stories and jokes. Got that old school feeling like they care. And the food was great. Especially the Robata! We were the last to leave and they never rushed us out. For me it was a special night out I will always remember.
Great atmosphere. Food was good and fresh. Service was a little slow.
Amazing service, amazing food!!! I dont know what else. This place is a must for anyone who loves great sushi, great service and great ambiance!!!!
Waiters were great
Food was good but not great. Sushi was fresh. I enjoyed that the most. I didn’t think the other types of plates were so great. Oversauced and too complex.
I am a Japanese foodie and this was more of a fusion restaurant.
The food was fantastic, we enjoyed everything we ordered. The waitress we had was very friendly and helpful too, but we found that service took a long time- perhaps they were under-staffed that day (Sunday). There was a party going on which caused the noise levels to be high, and a weird draft which felt strange coupled with the heaters at full-blast above our table. So that made the ambiance a little uncomfortable.
We also mentioned in our reservation that we were celebrating our engagement, but no one ever acknowledged it. And the hostess at the door was a little rude. The bartender on duty ignored us mid-order to speak to another customer too, so that put a little bit of a damper on the night. But the food was good enough that we would go back.
Takami was an amazing place to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. The food was extremely tasty and satisfying. The drinks we ordered were also extremely well made and each had a particular flair to them. I also appreciated the fact that the Manager, Ace, came around and introduced himself to each table. He also help light a candle on the chocolate cake we order for my girlfriend's birthday. I was truly impressed with the overall experience!
We loved the food, and had a great view of DTLA from our balcony seats.
I love the atmosphere and the view. The food was delicious. Service was great as always. We had reservations at 9:30pm and we were seated shortly after. After dinner we went next door to Elevate and had a blast.
Super nice beautiful place and the service wow Gladis the best
Ace, the manager, was the best! He was incredibly welcoming from the start and led everyone to their table. He introduced himself pleasantly and welcomed us to the restaurant. Ace gave incredible recommendations and all of the food was sushi. Ace was aware of what every guest was feeling and adjusted the restaurant to better fit everyone’s needs. He even offered us blankets when it hit chilly! I highly recommend this spot for any special occasion, delicious sushi, delicious dessert, or an incredible view of downtown LA. We’ll be sure to come back here soon!
As always, great!
The quality and atmosphere here is always amazing! Not to mention, the view is spectacular!
We had a reservation for 9:30 but didnt get seated until 10:15 Usually I would be upset however they had a very comfortable bar/lounge area where we sat at a couch/table and ordered drinks and an appetizer. The floor Manager Ace also made sure to apologize and not make us feel neglected. The food was really good. A little pricey but most places in that class are. After dinner we went to the club next door Elevate since we were with friends however if your on a date night you can easily stay in the bar area all night enjoying the music and ambiance.
It was an overall good experience. The ambiance was great and the service was excellent. The staff was amazing and very attentive. The restaurant was a bit warm though. The food was good, but not for the price. A bit over priced and we didn’t get much of a view.
Excellent sushi and specials.
We were referred by a friend and now told all our co-workers about it. We truly enjoyed the greeting, ambiance, wait and service staff, our delicious great-valued bento boxes, the presentation of food, the quality of the fish... honestly, we were blown away at how spectacular it all was. Most of all, the cherry on top, the view, the staff willing to take pictures of us! Truly wonderful first experience. Loved it! (Days later, we are still talking about it. Making budgeting decisions to make this a routine spot!)
The physical location at the top of a building is impressive, but there seems to be some inverse relationship between food quality and altitude.
The food is always incredible as well as the service. The baked crab hand rolls are out of this world! We had many of them. I had requested a window table not realizing it was actually outside. Inside was already full. So be sure to have a coat in case you get an outside table during this cold LA winter. :-)
This was my first time at this fine establishment and things could not have gone better. Toward the end of our delicious meal, the manager “Andrew” checked in on us and we told him how amazing and wonderful his entire staff was. We never had to ask for anything, they were always a step ahead of our needs and desires. Try this place for a first date or take anyone you want to impress there! Loved it and I will be back.
The service from Grace was everything! So accommodating and the food was so good as well as the drinks! Delicious..
Whatever you do don’t pick the last reservation. We had gotten a reservation for 9 pm. When we got there, they kept telling us now that you are here don’t rush. However, they informed us that the kitchen is closing in 5 minutes and we needed to place the entire order if we want to be served. From that the whole ordeal started for closing procedures, music stopped, workers cleaning and making loud noises, etc. So if you want to have a good time at the restaurant make sure you are not the last reservation because they don’t give you enough time to experience a relax eating experience.
Little not to like. Convenient downtown location with an easy valet parking. A good view, good service and pretty decent food and drinks. It’s not “over the top” fancy like 71 Above or La Boucherie; but is a solid place to go for a date night, to hang out with friends or for a business meal.
The wait staff really made us feel welcome and the food was wonderful. Loved the lychee drinks.
Great place and view! One of my favorites in DTLA!
Food is great but noisy w/ annoying loud music in a Sunday evening!
Good food, good atmosphere. Service was great. No complaints.
Food was very good but also a bit over priced. Went there to see the view and all the blinds were closed. Very nice decor and a cool ambiance but the fact that we couldn’t really see the view was very disappointing. We had 1 glass of wine, split an app, and each got a sushi roll and I spent 90 dollars... the food was good but not 90 dollars good.
Over all everything was good but when we decided to order one last sushi roll it came out more than 20 mins later and since it took so long it made us not bother to order anymore
Mentioned it was an anniversary, didn’t even get a dessert. Waitress was in a mood and rude to everyone
Service was very slow, table was dirty with stains and not cleaned properly from prior guest seated there. Disgusting and not acceptable when you spend $100 per head
