Tuna Tartar Roll
Chopped Tuna, Tartar sauce, Pear, Cucumber, Avocado, Scallion, Pine nuts, White Kelp
Hi there! I made a reservation at the counter. Even though we arrived on time the counter was fully occupied and we were offered a place at the small bar. Certainly not what we requested. The food is good quality but very expensive. The service although adequate, the staff had not much idea how to offer sashimi, sushi, or other specialties. There are other places in Atlanta for sushi and although I selected Taka based on ratings I do not feel it represents the Japanese service attitude. No, I will not recommend it to friends.
Understated ambiance. Food all high quality! Also love the retail wine space- excellent pricing.
The sushi was fresh but the sashimi rice bowl was a bit bland.
Best Sushi place is the South. Way better than Uni
Great quality sushi. Good attentive service.
Omakase was terrific! A real treat!
The service was amazing and the food was even better. We got two large sake and it was the best experience and we left full and happy. Our server was amazing she was so helpful in picking out our sake and was knowledgeable on the menu (she had blue awesome hair thank you again!) Sushi rolls are a little on the smaller side but priced great that we each ate 3 different rolls. We would definitely do this for an everyday weekly date night occasion!
After two disappointing experiences this week —one at Bistro Niko and one at The Betty— Chef Taka lifted the curse by gifting us with yet another outstanding omakase dinner. His creations are consistently inspired: last night one of our favorites was a trio of three heavenly bites (ebi, ika, and a silky piece of fish, can’t remember what kind, maybe jack fish?) topped with uni, wasabi, and tobiko. The solid standbys such as tuna tartar with pine nuts are peppered between the “special” courses throughout the meal.
Taka-san never stops inventing and creating, and he holds himself to the highest standards. Even during the pandemic, no part of the quality offerings suffered. His patrons benefit daily from this approach!
The restaurant was crowded and lively last night, but we have never dealt with inattention from the staff nor decline in quality of the food regardless of how busy or slow they are on any given night. We hope Taka will remain in the picture for as long as possible because Atlanta needs dining establishments that we can count on to check all of the boxes.
Super delicious and a great value!! We have been going to Taka for years and it never fails to deliver.
Our favorite sushi restaurant in Atlanta. Phenomenal food and service. Professional yet friendly.
As usual it’s fantastic fish, great quality, great service and beautiful fish flown in from Japan. Can’t beat it!
This is the best neighborhood sushi place around. The food is very authentic, the service is good and the prices, good, too. The sushi rolls are interesting and they sell really nice bottles of wine at great prices. We are going to be visiting this place weekly. They have a good takeout service, too.
Beautiful birthday dinner with perfect service and amazing food! Will be back soon.
Short staff, but that’s Biden’s fault.
Enjoyed the omakase tasting menu! Pro tip: this option is only available on weeknights unless you make arrangements in advance. I visited on a Saturday night, and fortunately I referenced my desire for the tasting menu in making my online reservation in the “notes” section. I got lucky!
Due to the spike in Covid we. Ate outside so I cannot speak to the atmosphere inside the restaurant. There was only one waitress handling the entire patio area so service was a bit slow compared to pre-pandemic but she did the best she could. The sushi was outstanding like always.
Taka is not a fancy place but the sushi is as good as the fancy ones. The rolls are creative and yummy The service is good even though the place is always busy.
They hav good takeout, too.
Excellent as always. Taka always takes good care of us!
Love this place.. but the in flow of take out orders and uber eats drivers to bar really hurts the ambience of sitting at the Sushi counter. it was non stop. Need to find another way to service this business to not hurt experience of dine in patrons.
We love Taka! It is the best sushi we have found in Atlanta. We are able to create rolls, which is sometimes a treat. I highly recommend Taka.
Extremely fresh sashimi. Friendly staff. Great vibe. Will be back again.
We love Taka! Great quality sushi and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Great outdoor patio - get to enjoy the music from next door, too.
We love Taka Sushi! It is our favorite. The sushi is beautifully presented and the taste is great. We were able to recreate a roll we had at another favorite sushi place when we lived somewhere else and it was just as delicious. I highly recommend Taka Sushi for in-person and takeout.
We enjoyed it and will go back
Delicious well presented plates. Miso Black Cod was as good as it gets. Dad loved the fried oysters.
The freshest sushi to be had! Could work on the atmosphere but totally worth trying. It’s yummy!
Service was phenomenal, food was very good. We sat outside where it was beautiful but there were a few adjacent restaurant patios, but it wasn’t distractingly loud.
Everything was so fresh and delicious! Highly recommend! Excellent wine program too.
Fabulous! Pristinely fresh fish, exquisitely prepared and presented. Be sure to indulge in the specials as they are always delicious with great attention to flavor and texture. The servers are friendly and efficient, and Taka is the genius behind it all. This is my favorite sushi bar in the Atlanta area.
Incredible spot for fresh sushi and authentic Japanese cuisine! It was worth the 45-55 min drive for us as we reminisced every dish on the ride home. The calamari tempura, agedashi tofu, okonomiyaki, and yak toro—all cooked to perfection. The sushi—I thought I transported to Japan with the amaebi nigiri. We will definitely be returning! Date night on a Monday was perfect with less crowds. The service and food were both top notch! Arigato!
Food is always excellent, the staff is great. Highly recommend!
Always excellent sushi and salads.
Taka Sushi is my favorite sushi place. The sushi is truly fantastic and the service is top notch. I love the brussel sprouts and the entree options. All of the food is very fresh and high quality.
Food is great. Server seemed overwhelmed and kept forgetting to check with us.
Out of town visit
It was remarkably slow service and I’m not sure why. It didn’t seem too busy. But overall, good.
As always, Taka is the OG of sushi in Atlanta. A true master and artist.
Excellent, as always. One of the best in Atlanta.
We enjoyed the omakase 10 course experience. The selection of fish/seafood was gorgeous and original. The flavor preparations were pretty traditional but that didn’t take away from the deliciousness. The service was attentive without being overbearing and Taka himself prepared our meal. Highly recommend!
