One of the best Omakase and the chef personally greats everyone. Very fresh fish and spotless clean restaurant. Extremely nice selection of Japanese sake by the glass or bottle.
The sushi was amazing. I just wished the portions were bigger. For the price, it was pretty expensive. $90 for two people.
Best sushi in Atlanta
Food was great. Service was great. Will definitely be back. We missed the cute ambiance of the patio from the old location. But the food makes up for it!
Everything was great, but service was a bit slow.
Taka Sushi is always great! Fine quality sashimi and sushi!
Son’s 11th birthday
Always fantastic. Had the omokase. Taka is a true artist. Highly recommended.
Broad selection of deliciously prepare and fantastic traditional Japanese cuisine in a friendly welcoming atmosphere!
The food was superb. Every little plate had a distintictive taste that made just wonder what was the nxt trest.
We asked for omakasa. And we really enjoyed our dinner. It was a bit expensive but worth it.
We also asked for shrimp roll and really it was exquisite.the service was excellent.
The ambiance was not up to the food, but we will go again to taste all the variety they have!!
Best. Sushi. Ever. No, seriously, the best ever all around.
Not a great date night place unless it’s a casual lunch. Expected more ambiance for dinner. Good sushi though and good service
Tokyo quality sushi, highly recommend the omakase at the counter.
Simply the BEST sushi in the entire city! Great selection, high quality and great service. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Taka Sushi is always excellent,
Food, service, everything.
Sushi always amazingly fresh.
I used to go to Taka's regularly when he first opened on Pharr Rd (2009ish?) and thought it was excellent, you could sense his pride and eagerness to make a name for himself through his high quality craft. Since moving to Roswell Rd it feels like the overall menu/ambience is less authentic, more mainstream American style sushi with an overall "meh" atmosphere and too casual service for the price point. The sashimi cuts were very generous and high quality (the hamachi was pristine and melted in my mouth) but the egg rolls and seaweed salad tasted like they were bought at Costco (sorry, my guess is they actually were...) There is less of Taka's soul here but most people probably won't know this and think of it is a decent place with good sushi.
outstanding as always...........................................................great service, great food
Always the best in Atlanta! If you know sushi, you know Taka...
Food Is great at Taka. But service was not good. We had a waiter that kept coming over and tried to listen to our conversation. We kept telling him we don’t need anything at the moment but he would keep coming back and pretended to clean the table next to us, but he looking over and listen to our conversation . He then tried to chit chat based on what he had picked up!! . It was not a friendly gesture and we found it very creepy! Unfortunately won’t be able to give a 5 star because of the service and the waiter’s behavior.
We used to visit Taka Sushi when they were in Buckhead. We were sorry to see them leave, but they are not far so we try to frequent as often as we can. They have fresh sushi with wonderful special menu items. The staff is very friendly and courteous. We love the ambiance there and take new friends all the time.
Food and service were ok. LOTS of kids, so it was quite noisy. We went for a date night, but felt like we shouldn’t have left the kids at home.
Taka is always outstanding. The specials are amazing, and we’re especially so this weekend. Taka really takes such time and care with all his flavors. Hands down best service and sushi in Atlanta.
Taka is Atlanta's sushi master. If visiting from the west coast, you will want t go here as this is the standard you're accustomed to. If living in Atlanta and want to see what REAL sushi is all about, go sit at the sushi bar and order omakase. You'll get the goods! Be willing to explore if you're normally getting just getting rolls. Trust a master to show you the path of sushi enlightenment.
This is the top sushi restaurant in Atlanta. The owner is involved in every aspect of the food preparation process and is present everyday. The result is sushi that is incredibly fresh and authentic. There are also many traditional Japanese options, aside from the sushi, that are delicious. The originality and consistent quality of the food gives you the feeling that you are eating in the home of a friend.
Great place! The sushi is second to none in Atlanta for quality and art of preparation and presentation. We love coming here. You won't be disappointed.
One of our favorite places!!
Positively surprised to see such high quality yet creative Japanese cuisine up north of the city. Super good! Ambience also great feel more like home. Definitely recommend to my good friends.
The food is always good, but the specials were amazing!
We had a great time celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday. The food was delicious but we found the sashimi sampler to be very small pieces of fish. They should be twice the size for value and taste. The spider roll and the Home Depot roll were delicious.
The food is fantastic. It was a busy night and service was a bit slow, however the staff is very nice and that made up for it. Seating is tight and we could hear the conversations on either side of us. I’ll go back because the food is worth it.
Service was super slow.
Waitress has kinda attitude.
Table was too small and out of space when food came.
Most likely We won’t go again.
Very good service and relatively quiet.
Taka has the BEST sushi in Atlanta! The restaurant service is friendly and very nice!
We have enjoyed going to Taka for several years, following Taka San from his restaurant on Pharr Road to their newer location on Roswell Rd. Both of us having lived in Japan enjoy this casual and unpretentious neighborhood spot that offers the creative interpretations of classic Japanese sushiya fare. The wait staff are all friendly and competent and if you are willing to try new things, ask for recommendations.
Taka Sushi is our favorite sushi restaurant, it is close to home and always excellent quality.
Sushi was okay. Sashimi wasn't the freshest, but was serviceable. Rolls weren't overly unique and were pretty middle of the road taste wise. Gyoza was good. Service was great for the most part. They forgot about a piece of the order, but then apologized over and over again. There is better sushi in Atlanta, but fairly cost effective, solid food, and no wait.
Taka is a perfect neighborhood spot- a little noisy since families with children come early but if you are ok with that- early is a great time. The avocado salad is delicious and the rolls are super fresh. I also like the eclectic but high-end wine list. Overall- Taka is high on my list.
Great sushi. Reasonable prices. Genuine Japanese dishes as wellness
One of the best sushi places in Atlanta
Excellent sushi. Still think they need to work on the ambiance. Lived the old location.
